Leaving aside the dubious merits of fucking over a small and peaceful nation, China's position in Tibet is largely a military confrontation, and if they were to escalate it much more than they have, they'd arouse massive condemnation around the world, which their economic interests could do without. Where China can fuck the US is with the vast quantities of debt that it holds. If China was going to be Machiavellian about it, they could collapse the dollar and pretty much bankrupt the fed.
