  • The girl in the magazine was a playmate of the month - what month and year?

  • best band out of chicago ever! ken harck/ off broadway!

  • I've got two of their albums, and frankly, 'A Scratch In The Sky' holds up very well musically. Great to see these guys still rockin'! Thanks! (Grew up in Evanston in the '60s).

  • Teen angst, pure and simple!!!

  • I remember the Cryan' Shames in the late sixties and they were one of the first good bands I saw live. This was in northern Indiana and I was a big fan. They had a few songs that sounded like the Association .Buy "Young Birds Fly" from iTunes and experience the innocence that was there during that time.

  • great harmony at the end!Reminds me of three dog night a little!I first heard this song on Pandora radio!Great!

  • I first heard the Cryan Shames a couple of days ago. Jangle Pop Radio, one of Live365 internet radio stations, played a tune of theirs. A great tuneful band- the track they played sounded somewhat like New Colony Six.

You guys in Chicago had quite a scene in the 60s.

  • When the band first formed Jim Pilster had a hook made for his left hand. The cover of Sugar and Spice was shot

in front of a candystore at OldeTown

    in Chicago.

  • I remember hearing about the hook but did not see them live until the mid-seventy's at a bar named "The Thirsty Whale" in River Grove. He was preforming without the hook by then, just had his hand wrapped up.

  • So what is the story about his left hand anyhow? By the way I still have this abulm.

  • I believe that Jim's famous hook is retired and on display at the Hard Rock Cafe in Chicago

  • Somewhere there has to be some video from the 60's of these guys. Thanks for posting this video. The best band out of the Midwest in the 60's!

  • I agree with you 100%. The best band in the midwest. I too would like to see some video from the 60's

  • I was downtown Downers Grove at a bookstore and Jim Fairs was there looking at playboy before writing this song.About 66-68.

  • I have been looking for this song. Does anyone have a non-live version of this that

    they can post.

    Thanks!!!

  • Thanks for posting this, the Shames were the best to come out of Chicago. Great to see Toad singing with them again.

  • Thank you for bringing this video. The Shames are the best band from Chicago. Great to see Toad singing again

  • Thank you for posting this video. Love the Shames and it's great to see Toad singing again. smctopia----do you have more video from this show? Would love to "could be we're in love" and "up on a roof"

    Thanks again
