We can't decriminalize drug addiction because then there can be no war on drugs. If there is no war on drugs then a major black market currency used by the CIA and our other covert government-sponsored operations ceases to have value, not to mention missed corporate profits in the criminal detention trade.
The tough questions are never asked. The real problems are never discussed. I don't believe that the government The People see is anything close to the real thing.
PAul makes too much sense to be President. ... how sad. The only person I would vote for the last presidency was called a loon for making sense. Shows you how bass ackwards our country is.
i can vote for the first time in 2010 and you know every time i vote Ron Paul & Alan Keyes will have it. i know to many people ho won't vote for Paul because they don't believe he has enough support so they go republican. if all the people who thought Paul wouldn't win would just vote for him, it might be possible to get some logical sense into the white house rather than increasing the New World Order agenda.
People say, "End all wars" but the problem is they're not wars at all. War can be good. They can serve to overthrow tyrants and break up oppressive regimes. They can free millions from death camps. But we're not interested in that. If we wanted to fight terror we'd fight the ideology behind terror - Islam. We'd go to Saudi Arabia, Yemen and Somalia not Iraq.
The war on terror isn't a war, it's a global expansion of government. I take that back. It is a war. A war against Liberty.
Agreed! First step in doing this is ending the powers central banks have! Put the central banks out of business, and governments will not be able to afford war!
w/o the central banks, the taxation necessary for the gov to make war cannot be hidden from the people (inflating the money supply can be argued away by keynsians). no true republic can continue a war that the citizens do not support. end the fed you end the oppressive US empire. the gov is playign right into bin laden's hands, over seas occupation to bankrupt the nation. politicians are too caught up thinking they must DO SOMETHING and then are easily mislead by those who promise re-election
Its about time I hear that someone is speaking out about this. Our tax dollars are being waisted on jailed addicts who keep winding up back in the system.
The neo-con drug war is criminal. Do I like it that people throw their lives away on drugs? Of course not. It's a sad shame but the drug war is equally as perverse if not more so.
People who are hooked on drugs have a mental problem for addicting themselves to that choice and the person they hurt the most is always themselves. It should be looked at as a disease first rather than a crime. Other drugs like marijuana, whose effects are more subtle than hard drugs, shouldn't even be looked at by the government at all. It's not their business.

Dr. Paul makes complete sense on this issue. I hope more people will see his sensibilities and follow his leadership and diplomacy.
