you have to give this guy at least SOME credit. It's really hard to take an entire season of a TV show (nearly 8 hours) and compress it to a movie. i mean, stop critisizing the guy. we all know he sucks. But still, i love how if avatar the alst airbender had been his idea in the first place, this movie wouldn't have passed. he completely ruined the series. I'll be surprised if they let him to the 2nd book, but i think it was all a money making scam.

I will say that the actors who played Zuko and his grandfather did well. They were the only ones in the movie to really come close to the cartoon. Ang had the looks definitely I just don't feel the goofyness of Ang was there at all. His Dialogue seemed alittle too serious most of the time. Of course if people viewed the cartoon then they'd like the movie to be close as possible. This is still far better than Dragonball Evolution so atleast we should be happy about that.
I came to the movie expecting it to be amazing. I left disappointed, the dialogue seemed alittle stale not much personality was put into it. Actors weren't bad you can't expect perfection with the looks of the actors. I unfortunately saw the movie in 3D and there were hardly any actual 3D parts in the movie lol. A big waste of $3.50 for the movie. I expected alittle more from this to be honest. If you were a fan of the cartoon I'd say avoid but if never seen this movie will be good. imho

@GAwsomeUnit I heard that the movie is 2 hours long. Which is awesome because for me, the longer a movie is, the better cause you get to see the characters and everything more.
And the movie starts off at the beginning of Book 1 in the cartoon series and it ends at the ending of Book 1 in the cartoon series. This movie is the 1st part of a film trilogy. Each film pertains to 1 book of the cartoon series. So Film 1 is Book 1, Film 2 is Book 2, and Film 3 is Book 3.

Although it would be great for the characters to be true to their "country", but let's face it there are no people actually from the north pole or the south pole. Also, The Last Airbender's earth is NOT our earth, just look at the maps.
From what I'm seeing this movie is actually following the events that happened in the series, like when Aang gets angry at the Western air temple and Katara calms him down and when Zuko and Katara fight...I'm just amazed that they're sticking to it...I just hope that those monks aren't airbenders and I hope Sokka is still sarcastic and that Aang is still a goofball

Nicola Peltz (Katara) seems like she is a good actress from the few lines she has in this trailer. I really like her acting in the scene where Aang loses control and first goes into the Avatar state ("We can do this together") and the scene at the end of the movie where she is protecting Aang from Zuko while he is in the Spirit world ("I won't let you take him"). I think she was a very good choice for Katara.

I wish Katara and Sokka were black, or Indian, but other than that, I think they did great on the outfits. Especially, with the North Water Tribe Princess.

the only thing that concerns me is whether sokka has his humor and if aang has his immaturity. Those two were the best parts about the show. Right now, two look pretty freaking serious, those they're just kids. Heh, Katara and Zuko seem too off, though. I'm guessing toph will be in the next movie? @GAwsomeUnit I heard that the movie is 2 hours long. Which is awesome because for me, the longer a movie is, the better cause you get to see the characters and everything more.
And the movie starts off at the beginning of Book 1 in the cartoon series and it ends at the ending of Book 1 in the cartoon series. This movie is the 1st part of a film trilogy. Each film pertains to 1 book of the cartoon series. So Film 1 is Book 1, Film 2 is Book 2, and Film 3 is Book 3.

Although it would be great for the characters to be true to their "country", but let's face it there are no people actually from the north pole or the south pole. From what I'm seeing this movie is actually following the events that happened in the series, like when Aang gets angry at the Western air temple and Katara calms him down and when Zuko and Katara fight...I'm just amazed that they're sticking to it...I just hope that those monks aren't airbenders and I hope Sokka is still sarcastic and that Aang is still a goofball

Nicola Peltz (Katara) seems like she is a good actress from the few lines she has in this trailer. I really like her acting in the scene where Aang loses control and first goes into the Avatar state ("We can do this together") and the scene at the end of the movie where she is protecting Aang from Zuko while he is in the Spirit world ("I won't let you take him"). I think she was a very good choice for Katara.

People tend to get pissed by this, no matter what the basis. And if race is involved, as it is here, there is legitimate reason to cry foul.
