I used to manage a Blockbuster and on early mornings before we opened up, when I was there by myself and needed a pick-me-up, I used to put on the opening credits of MMBT. You might be right, Its hard to do without adding to,or end up changing your first impressions of that world. Just saw "District 9" and I liked the raw and gritty look to the movie,the documentary style way of filming it,and Wikus being the "unlikely hero" but in these Mad Max movies,you knew exactly who the hero was going to be at the very beginning,and you knew this guy was going to get things done.
