  • cute..where did you get the Latch hook from?

  • @AKIYIAKELLY in her first video it says from a craft store... i crochet and i get all of my Regular Crochet hooks from Joannes, and Walmart, or Michaels... but the latch hook is definetely at Joannes

  • Thank for the Info... Girl!

  • Too cute!

  • Thanks for this video! What kind of hair did you use? What length is it? Very pretty!

  • How many packs did you use?

  • How do you take down your crochet braids?

  • I am trying this technique this week thank you for posting and teaching this technique

  • if u put a braid across the front of your head, like perpendicular to the other braids wuld it look alright?

  • can u make avideo how to take it off.

  • Thank you so much. Your vids were the first video I saw on crochet braids, it was very helpful and informative. Bless you sister.

  • i like the point you made, to put more hair in the front so it can look fuller, because thats where people are mostly concentrating on. and your hair looks nice.

  • what type of hair did you use?

  • i felll ur pain were u sleepy i feel ya gurl & just ta show ya sum love imma go on & sub .. u awite lol smile .. :)

  • Wow - i have never heard of this technique before, i can't wait to try it. Thanks for sharing.

  • Thanks so much. My mother and I LOVE your technique. You are an ANGEL.

  • I like what you are doing. However I have a question...I noticed that you are pulling one side through and tying...have you thought to create by bending the hair like you are doing to pull the hair...but instead of pulling one side through, pull both ends through the loop that you created when you pulled the hair through...that creates a wonderful knot. (I hope you understood what I was saying.)

  • This is how I do mine, and I love that I dont have to pull one end all the way through, and it comes out really nice

  • thats a great idea!!!

  • HOW DO U MAINTAIN THIS LOOK

  • cute!...but what kind of hair is that??

  • Hey free tress bulk water wave

  • what kind of hair is that

  • Free tress bulk water wave

  • one question when u do your hair like that can you comb it into other styles as u wud do your natural hair.

  • Not really (which sucks) cuz it's synthethic hair but u can try a sew n with curly human hair (crochet braids with human hair don't really work b/c it's so soft&will slip out) that way u have more versatility if u have the $try virgin indian curly hair it's the best

  • ok thanks

  • No prob that's what I'm here 4

  • how do you secure the ends? like if your hair is long enough 2 braid a lil bit-how do you hide that on the bottom?

  • Very nice style. I have my hair in crochets with a different curl pattern and it is so easy. What kind of hair is that you are using.

  • WOW this looks too easy. I braid my hair myself and sometimes i dont feel like braiding it for hours so this definitely better than a sew-in for me. Thanks so much!!!!

  • If you double-knot the hair, how do you take it out? Is this easy to take out? I really want to try this but I'm not sure.

  • Can you wet or wash this hair slightly? Since it's synthetic.. does that make it look matted or worse or does that cause it to loose teh curls?

If anyone has tried this style and gotten it wet (swimming/washing).. and maintained it stil.. I'd love to hear from you.

    Thanks

  • i havent washed mine since theyr new. but the weave has gotten wet it didnt change the texture of the weave, the weaves texture wont change drastically from being wet let it air dry. HTH

  • thanks soooo much!

  • great video !!!!!!!! ive never had these b4

  • Thank you so much for showing us this hair style. You're so beautiful. May God bless you and keep you and give you peace on you natural hair journey.

  • I did this style almost 3 weeks ago and I still love it!! The only thing I'm having problems with is how to clean my scalp while its in this style. But other than that I LoOoOoove it thank you for posting this video!!

  • lol i used 2 do this as a child, i didnt like it tho

  • maan i hate crochet

  • thank you so much you're video was very helpful to me. but what do you do if your braid comes undone at the base or front of your head?

  • A few questions:

    Can you wash your hair?

Can you swim with the hair?

Do you use fake hair when you make your cornrows?

  • i can only awnser your last question cause i sw it on another video

yes some poeple add fake hair to cornrow x

  • and how the hell do u get it out? Am so scared of braids coz they take too long i have a 'braidophobia' if am allowed to put like that. I wish i could get the fear and the laziness off my mind so i can also look so gorgeous.

  • all you have to do is untie the knots since that's how they are secured to the cornrow. untie them and slide it from underneath the braids, and then just take the cornrows out...

  • Also, along the area where I wear the "part", I put the glue in the middle of the hair and separated to two sides so that I don't have that ridge at the top. It looks more like tree braids at the top. I have gotten tons of compliments and noone knows that it is crocheted. It's undetectable. I LOVE it. Thanks so much. Wish I knew how to post a picture.

  • THANK YOU so much for this. I did this last week and I did have a problem with the hair coming out. I tied it three times but it still came down. SOOOOOO, I redid it and did a couple of things differently. First, I pulled the hair half way through and then pulled the two strands through the loop. After that, I took bonding glue and put just a little bit at the base of each loop. It went faster and I haven't lost one single strand of hair.

  • You are so sweet for sharing this! and cool as hell! Stay up!

  • well, yes it could be you look like a lion ..but i must say as i saw you video..the finished look..well you look georgeous! i loved it!!! and yes i will take in mind on what you said.

  • you did a wonderful job sweetie. i like big hair so that looks awesome. keep up the good work

  • Have you ever considered braiding your hair in a different pattern besides straight back? I dont think the parts will show if you did a ear to ear pattern

  • that look really great! how many packs of hair did you use, and what brand?

    -Thanks

  • I've never done this with loose hair but I've used the curly braids before so I decided to give this a try. I got a bit carried away with the cornrows and put in 19. My hair is freakin' HUGE! It's cute but I make Chaka Khan look bald, lol. I definitely have to go back and remove some from the bottom.

  • and wat kind of hair will be better for this hairstyle

  • is that human hair , or synthetic

  • Freetress Synthetic Bulk Water Wave

  • hey, where do you get your hair from?

  • I LOVE IT!!!!!

  • what do u do with the hair at the end of the cornrow?? tuck it? sew it?

  • thanks for this vid! it was great. I didnt get the tree braid thing, but I have this down. i had a fear of crochs for years bcz of the kind of hair a lot of ppl use but i see that i can use anything. I am going to try it with afro hair :-) Also great tip about not leaving them in so long that ur hair locks!

  • If you get that kind of bulk hair when they say it's 18 inches long do they mean it is 18 inches doubled or they mean like straight out? I want to do a longer do!

  • What brand of hair is this?

  • Freetress Bulk Water Wave-- She states it in Part I.

  • Thank u much queen. :p

  • You are welcome. The hair is very pretty and very natural!

  • how do u take this out i'd like try this

  • if you use prebraided hair instead of loose hair can you leave the extensions in longer? If so how long?

  • wow, 10 hours...i thought with the latchhook it would tkae less time:( Great job though.

  • What is the brand of hair that you use. Your hair is sooo pretty. I think I'm goting to try and do this style

  • Hi I just wanted to ask u what kind of hair did u use? it looks v pretty indeed i'm into afro curly wurly hair .

Oh and I must say I think u look beautiful with or without crotchet by the way

    x

  • I must say thanks so much for putting up this video because I've been trying to learn this style for quite some time. But my question is do you braid all your hair in corn rolls or do you leave a shot lil bit out at the top. I wasn't quite sure how you went about that part

  • I braid all my hair and leave nothing out.

  • that hair is so cute. .... i just feel some kind of way about using weave..extentions.. why do i still feel fake?

  • What type of hair are you using?

  • umm... ? 1 can u do it with str-8 hair. and 2 how do you take it out

  • yes. it can be done with straight hair, but I am not sure that this is the best technique to do it with straight hair. I saw it done where a girl crochet straight hair in her head but instead of tying the knot in her hair she braided it about an inch or two and then added a dab of super glue to the tip of the end of the braid. It was really pretty. Check the search engine of nappturality (the website) for crochet braids. I think you will be able to find pic and her technique there.

  • Now that I think about it, perhaps tree braids would be a better route to go with straight hair. It secures the hair in so that it won't slide out when you brush it. To take the hair out you simply unravel the cornrows, on both treebraids and crochet braids.

  • Thank you so much for this video. I cant believe how easy it is!!! How long do you think it will take to finish? 2-3 hours? Or is it more? I think I will take a weekend to do mine. Please let me know.

  • It depends on how fast you can cornrow your hair. That is the part that takes the longest for me. Altogether it usually takes me about 10 hours, but if this is your first time add a couple more hours to this. A weekend is more than enough time. Does this answer you question?

  • Do you have any breakage from your hair from doing the latch hook?

  • No. I can't recall having any breakage from using the latch hook. But I would advise using it with caution so that the hook does not accidentally snag your hair.I was never careful with the hook and I had no problems.

  • how do you removal the crochet without cutting your hair?? Btw i love your hairstyles!

  • Thanks! Just unravel the cornrow and the crochet comes out.

  • I really love your hair...I am natural too and I do a lot with my hair. It looks so natural...How long does the hair last...

  • If you take care of it. It can last up to a month and a half. Although it can last longer than that, I don't suggest leaving it in more than two months. I can only leave it in for two weeks because longer than that and my hair locks up.

  • Nice video - thanks for sharing.

  • Your welcome! I hope it was helpful!

  • Thank u very much for this video... I have used the freetress water wave hair a number of times for cornrows but I have never thought about doin crochets with it... I love the way urs look.. I know when i get cornrows with the hair it turns out really cute because i do 3 layer cornrows and in the front dont braid the hair down much.. but anywho thank u for the video im goin to do mines like this tomorrow and may upload a video with pics of me with it ...great video

  • Thanks! I hope your hair turns out well.

  • I have been using freetress for the last couple of years, so I have forgotten the other brands I used to use. I really like the freetress deep twist. If you have a favorite brand and they have a good quality of curly or wavy hair, I would suggest that. I have found that curly hair and wavy have covers a multitude of mistakes. My friend had a mixtape cd, but I am sure if you limewire instrumental + mos def + ms fat booty you probably will be able to find it as well.

  • Thanks so much for tellin us what kind of hair to use! Also thanks for sharing you experiences.

What other kinds of synthetic hair brands and types do you recomend?

And where did you get that Mos Def sample/instrumental?

    Thanx

  • Oh yeah, I would not suggest using human hair, it never turns out well. Beverly Johnson has some straw set curls that are made specifically for latching purposes, they produce a beautiful strawset. I can't remember the type of hair, but if you find it and use it don't separate that hair, just latch the pre- measured hair into your braid. Good Luck!
