  • Great Idea GM, only problem is that if someone wrecks with hydrogen tanks in their car the damn thing will explode like a bomb.

Also given the fact this lady is a bimbo and employed with GM what do you think of their decision making? FAIL!

  • @agenthelios1 I love how you assume they didn't realize that they were essentially making a Hydrogen bomb. As soon as the car detects a crash (not a fender-bender mind you), the hydrogen capsule will automatically depressurize the hydrogen in a safe way. If the capsule doesn't end up being damaged in the crash, all you have to do is simply refill it.

  • Its an suv thats cool, green but yet big! = me so horny. haha

  • Nice design.

Although it would be of little use up north. Unless you could have the fuel cell generate quite a bit of heat.

At -10c or colder even the hybrids require an additional heater.

Would be nice to try out in the summer.

I would be curious to see a compact fuel cell to run an electric ATV. For curiosity sake at least.

  • Stupid. I think chevy is doing it right with the volt.

  • They go around $30,000 or so, right? The 2010? I'm getting mine next year, for my 21st bday :]

  • the new 2010 equinox is 10x better looking than the previous gen. for 30k you can get a fully loaded one. great choice for a crossover!

  • It shouldn't even be about money

  • Someone please tell me why is that cars like these are easily accessible rather than to just the general public?

How much does these things cost?

  • If you have to ask how much something costs....you can not afford it.

  • @xexkxex That's not always true. Some people are just curious about the price. After all, no one's just gonna go to GM and say, "Oh I like this new Equinox you guys have, I'll buy I don't care what it costs." Even a wealthier person would be curious about the price. Just saying. Just because you ask the price doesn't mean anything.

  • Not enough hydrogen stations in the nation (let alone one city) to produce them yet.

  • GM havent even mastered the regular engine the EQUINOX has an engine made by Shanghai Motors of CHINA

    go google this yourself

  • chevy still hasn't mastered gas engines, hydrogen is going to be a real nightmare

  • You're a moron, ever heard of the 3800 Buick engine? One of the best most reliable ever made. So is the 350 and the current 5.3L, good for 300k miles.

  • oh really...I said chevy not buick, but buick is ranked even worse, they average 134 problems per 100 sold(JD power 2008). Any engine will go 300k with enough work. I bought 2 NEW chevy Equniox last year both have had many problems, engine, electrical, ignition, brakes. They didn't make 15k much less 300k. When we sell these that will be our last chevys.

So if I need anymore bad advice about cars I'll give you a call.

  • From what I read, JD power ranks Buick very highly, above many japanese brands. I'm sorry about the probs you had with the equinox's but from my own experience (and many people I know who own Chevy and GM vehicles), Chevy engines are very reliable, mine has never ever let me down.

  • I have an 05 equinox, some of the first made and im almost at 70,000 miles, and NO major repair done, i had a slight problem with the bat.-starter-engine wires but fixed them, and u can have your control mod in the car updated for a small fee, you outa ur mind jdh

  • I believe Buick is now ranked #1.

    suck it!

  • in having problems?

    i believe your right

  • LMAO!

  • My Aunt has had a 2008 Equinox since last year and she uses it for work, and has over 15k on it without a single problem so far.

  • My grandmother has a 1954 Chevy Silverado with over 1,500,000 miles on it and it still runs like a dream (Its funny to think that there used to be 3 speed tyranny thou, lol). It doesnt drive ANYTHING like the cars today, Thank you whoever invented the Engine Control Unit :P

  • True, The 3800 Is a solid engine, and was ranked highly for many many years. We had nearly 300,000 on our last 3800 powered vehicle, still ran amazing. But then again at 300,000 the 3800 is just a baby.

  • Yeah my Regal GS has the 3800, 110k miles and it runs great.

  • what we need are those air CARS by the GUY NEGRE no filling station required all you need is an air compressor at home the hydrogen for fuel cells will be controlled and supllied by the illuminati SHIT !!!

  • technology is too fucking expensive we need a do it yourself modify your gasoline engine to run on engine not fuel cells.

  • to run on hydrogen made a mistake

  • you forgot to add, that pulling up to a pump will be no different on the price of driving. a hydrogen generator installed in a car almost doubles the efficiency.

    Peace

  • how long before they hit the roads ?

  • They allready have on project driveaway, but when they'll be produced is almost entirely depenent on the number of fuel cell stations.

  • That was awesome :] great car .
