ah..last thing. are you sure this song doesn't want to be called "sorry too late"? coz that implies you making the decisions, and being just peachy with them, frankly. if not overtly delighted. : ) and "smooth talking" seemed more like one of those songs where one is throwing tomatoes from behind a wall while shouting, "I know your kind!" the former girl makes the guy a better man than he ever dreamed he could be, is all. just fyi. (for songwriting purposes.)

@jessedora Well sure, that's one way of looking at it, ; ) but that's a bit inwardly focused, and a personal answer to an individual who sounds a bit insecure and feels out of control. (Hence his need to be demanding and all that.)

But what I liked, as a fan, was the backbone and confidence shown, which I think is about everyone but her. The performance was all attitude, and I think fans expect their musical heroes to float above the mess of life a bit, and wink back in a reassuring manner.

It's like: I'm glad I can take Holly Kirby's music along for my ride in life; it's simply more fun.

And I second the thought of EmilderWeise that the University experience is pretty cool. It makes clear that some people can show up 10% of the time and yet get 10 times the results, at which time you realize that sticking with the herd is perhaps not the safest way for some to travel. : ) Oh, and there are academics there, too, and they teach you that talking isn't doing. Um...mostly by example. ; )
