I have a mother in law that is a retired Marine. for 3 years she has been fighting the VA for the major joint damage she received over the years of service. I have helped her get to her appointment and stayed to help her get around the VA. She asked me to sit in on her talks with her doctor after her exams and treatments to have a witness to the CF of an system of how long it takes to get the treatment.
Your mother in laws joint damage isn't from years of service. It's from old age. So don't make me laugh about how hard females have it in the Marines. As if being a Marine means constant rigourous activity. Fighting the VA for major joint damage, what does that mean? You mean she wants to get treatment and is fighting them on it. And if that is her case, you still aren't taking account of many satisfied veterans that get treated by the VA hospitals. You are making a judgement off of one case.
And finally, you are debating a proposed system that will only target people without health insurance. Matter of fact, the propsed idea would make you ineligable for the propsed national health care plan. So either you have health insurance through your work currently and this debate does not involve you or you are telling people without insurance that it would be better for them to have no insurance instead of a nationaly run option, and thats just insane.
The question is, does your mother in law have the paperwork (ie: medical records) to prove that she had the problems while in the military? If not, she probably doesn't stand a chance. Otherwise she would have to contact past unit members who can support her claim of injury.
She has a copy of all her records from her time in the service and the the doctors treatment while she was in.

1) The majoriy of the founding fathers were Deists--not Christians, who fled the Anglican Church. The ones that were Christian were in favor of the separation of church and state because they saw the Anglican Church as being corrupted by the King.

Nationalized health care means waiting for months to see a doctor and then add a year to see the specialist. IF your condition is deemed necessary to be treated, and IF you will not be a useless eater after the treatment and IF you are a good party member then you will be taken care of. ALL others will be given two aspirin and call back in a week

I have a mother in law that is a retired Marine. for 3 years she has been fighting the VA for the major joint damage she received over the years of service. I have helped her get to her appointment and stayed to help her get around the VA. She asked me to sit in on her talks with her doctor after her exams and treatments to have a witness to the CF of an system of how long it takes to get the treatment.

As if being a Marine means constant rigourous activity. Fighting the VA for major joint damage, what does that mean? You mean she wants to get treatment and is fighting them on it. And if that is her case, you still aren't taking account of many satisfied veterans that get treated by the VA hospitals. You are making a judgement off of one case.

Matter of fact, the propsed idea would make you ineligable for the propsed national health care plan. So either you have health insurance through your work currently and this debate does not involve you or you are telling people without insurance that it would be better for them to have no insurance instead of a nationaly run option, and thats just insane.

The question is, does your mother in law have the paperwork (ie: medical records) to prove that she had the problems while in the military? If not, she probably doesn't stand a chance. Otherwise she would have to contact past unit members who can support her claim of injury.

She has a copy of all her records from her time in the service and the the doctors treatment while she was in.
Phoenix VA hospital in Arizona notified orthopedic surgeons and therapist that they had reached their quota on work and would not be paid for any more care provided in 2009. They were told they could work for free, make the patients wait until 2010, or perhaps some money could be found if they were willing to take an 80 percent pay cut.

I agree that stopping evil isn't wrong. It's totally right. I just have a hard time knowing exactly what is evil. Lots of people tell me what is evil and what isn't. I'm not convinced of nearly any of it.
I also agree about the "won't"/"can't" issue. If someone is just being lazy then they really shouldn't get anything for free... But for the millions of people who are trying hard but not getting by because of the cost of health care, we must do better.

I pay $15,000 in premiums for around $1000 a year of care. That's a rip off. Ins companies are the richest companies in the world, thanks to favorable legislation from Congress. It's no coincidence, that the second I decided to completely drop my health insurance policy and self insure, Congress decided to FORCE me to buy insurance, at crazy high profit margins to the Insurance companies, or go to jail.
Federal agents guns will force me to make the richest companies in the world, even richer.

If only more people would actually research their history it would be common knowledge that this country was NOT founded on Christian principles (despite what the Religious Right says). Most who wrote the Declaration of Independence were in fact Deists.
The Founding Fathers - which these bible-thumpers use as excuses for their stupidity and crusades - would no doubt be against how much religion is now brought into politics.

Um.
1) The majoriy of the founding fathers were Deists--not Christians, who fled the Anglican Church. The ones that were Christian were in favor of the separation of church and state because they saw the Anglican Church as being corrupted by the King.
2) Virtually all Christian references that exist to this day came out of the McCarthy era, and did not exist before then. The most obvious one being that "...one nation, indivisible" was replaced with "one nation, under God, indivisible".
