Norway now has a 'get rich quick culture' and an arrogant attitude to the rest of the world. Sadly not the Norway I used to love!!

Love the comments. I am NOT American but adore Norway and have been a regular visitor since the 1960s.Until the 1970s Norwegian people were careful with how they spent their money. I remember other than the main highways the roads were only lose stones. Then Eureka North sea oil and gas was discovered. Life changed dramatically. The newer generations appear to take money for granted and Norway produces less and less manufactured goods. It appears everybody is just looking for 'instant fame!!

Actually, it`s an insult, because: two of my friends who are norwegians lived in USA for a year, and they were asked if we have mobilephones, computers and stuff, and if we live in houses or in caves. I understand this guy spend his time in the northern norway, and down to Trondheim. Well the people in northern norway, called "nordlendinger", are more direct. They say thing straight forward, and for some people it could be too much. But "nordlendinger"/northenders are in the end good people. Trondheim is Norways third biggest city. And this guy is correct. The people of Trondheim, called "trøndere", are open and friendly. But sadly Norway are expensive.

Norway has a long and strong culture, way back to the Viking-times. Sweden had us for like 100 years tops. According to history, Vikings discovered the land of america before columbus, so that pretty much sums it up.

That the vikings were the earliest is the most acceptable fact, however there are petroglyph indications that, among other things, "describes" an pre-viking coming. Even if they were the first what civilization, technology, system or economy that constitutes a people they brought? Zero! There were settlements obviously but no colonization.

All countries are a result of colonization, they left there own behind and went on to conquer, what did the vikings left built in Norway? Zero!

Not really. Both Sweden, Iceland, Denmark, Finland as well as some baltic countries have a visibly higher population of indigenous blondes than Norway.
