Well Ness' really used his PSI Teleport move not a portal he simply runs so fast its like he travels faster than 1 second so he is all black and stuff if he hits something

Actually, they first started these "intros" in Super Smash Brothers for the N64. Melee didn't have these kinds intros. Their intros were just coming out "from the light".
