I don't understand why most of you are blasting Tony Curtis for this interview. Just because not all of what he said about Marilyn was positive doesn't mean he wasn't telling the truth. I personally think Marilyn would prefer to be spoken about in this way: Telling the whole truth, warts and all, rather than painting a perfect but false story. In a RECORDED INTERVIEW, Marilyn said she was ordered to lie that she did not do a nude calendar, but she instead opted for the TRUTH and admitted it.

I would have to agree with the people who said that Jane Russell was most genuine about her her memory of her. Tony Curtis in my humble opinion seemed a bit defensive, there is a story behind Marilyn and Tony and I've read many different things even the bit about him being lovers with Marilyn and although we don't know the truth I would just have to say I think Marilyn was the sweet woman Jane talks about.

Tony Curtis was despicable in intimating that Marylin would "get on her knees to get the roles she wanted". To say that on what would have been her 75th birthday is unforgivable and showed me who Tony Curtis was.

I love Tony Curtis (bless his soul) as an actor, and while he made a couple good points on her (one being that she was ill, because she was) he was very brutal and classless here. I love Jane Russell, bless her soul as well. Out of everyone thus far I've heard speak of Marilyn she was most genuine in her respect and memory of her.

marilyn was vulnerable woman who was used by hollywood and most of the people around her, which is quite sad, even though she was loved by people all over the world all she wanted was to be loved, really loved, not just as the sexy icon marilyn monroe but as the human being norma jean, she had a hard life and not knowing her father or really having her mother in her life, she never really felt loved and she was a wonderful, sweet woman who deserved that

JANE Russell was in her 70's she battled alcoholism . She was a beautiful sex symbol and here she was pushing her 80's Jane was a strong willed opinionated woman.Jane is a good woman.

Hey Mark. Long time since we've spoken. I do think Tony has a bee in his bonnet about Marilyn, however I feel it is the petty grudge of a man scorned. I cannot help but feel there is a story there. As much as I do not like his opinion of her, I do think he is another necessary clog that sheds more light into the harsh machine Marilyn must have been subjected to. Here Jane is probably the most sincere Marilyn contact.

Yes, Tony Curtis himself has become exactly what he is talking about here, a Marilyn vulture. I don't believe half of what he says. I read her files in the Vanity Fair article link that she couldn't stand him, let alone get pregnant to him. I have great respect for Jane Russell, she very rarely talks about Marilyn, and if she does, its with respect and dignity. Curtis was on a fascinating UK show called Shrink Rap, where the host is a real shrink. I felt sorry for him. He was stripped bare.
