You're best shot is to either go on the official Spector website and look to see if there's any local stores near you that carry spector, or you can order a spector directly from any music store.
Since I'm left handed, I don't have any other option but to order directly from a local store...lol
Spector makes a very well rounded bass good for all genres of music. Sam Ash is a carrier; if they don't have any check out some local music shops. You might be in for a pleasant surprise.
just buy one at sam ash. Some colors of the spector legend classic (bolt on neck, emg soapbars, active electronics, korean made) are retailing for $399 on a bass that costs around $800
I've heard that the bridge is like cut out to fit in the bass, making a replacement odd and I'm not sure that the Spector Legend is the same as the Performer (which I have). They (Spector) no longer carry replacements for my model. :(
from what i saw hes defently not the best. hes awesome, i see that, but not best imo. mudvayne's Ryan Martinie or 1010100101010001 of resist idol (Myspace band haha XD, u can see hes videos in youtube. hes utube username i wrote right XD) are the best metal bassists i know. ryan martinie more known but not sure which one is better.

I mean, RyKnow, 7Sloth, Pavel, Jaco, Mark King, Les Claypool, John Myung, they all are better than him defently. i mean alex is fast sure, but its more like playin random as fast as possible, no offense. checked 5 gp files of this band and just liked 1 song a bit, which was fucked with a knife but it seemed pretty easy to play.
but not to arque with this, bassist is an bassist, it doesent need to be best. thats why i like ryan the most. he never does solos, he never plays on public than onstage with mudvayen, all showup is in his movement performance, rest is music. but best is that theres not a SINGLE perfect bass tab of him, many aint even near 50% correct. evryone has to use ear tryin to learn his songs and all :D
Spectors are good for a wide veriety of genres because of their tone. I actually just bought a Spector at the Guitar Center in Nashville, TN LAST WEEK! But like Mistermafia said below...Sam Ash carries them as well. My spector is a little older...it's a Spector Q5 Pro. They carry new models though.
Personally, I think Chris Tuff nailed it better than anyone else, although they were all good in their own right. Anyone know where he's from, I can't find anything on him.
Do you guys know how expensive that bass that guy has is after Alex Webster is playing, that thing is freaking expensive, it sounds good but why would someone want to pay so much for a bass.
I would say that Alex is the best in the Video, since he is the only one that is really playing anything that sounds very different then just slap and groovy style. I wonder why Victor Wooten wasn't there, he is a god as well on bass.

yeah, he plays a lot of different styles and ha said he tries to incorporate things like slapping and popping and all these different techniques into cannibal corpse's music. i think that is one of the reasons he's one of the top death metal bassists in the world, that and he knows not to let the guitars bury him out.

Make no mistake--all those bass players are better than me. I am just sick and tired of every single bass player going "bikkity-bikkity-bikkity-tic-tic-tic-bikkity-bikkity-tic-toc"
I found each and every one of those clips highly annoying. Does anybody ever just PLAY BASS anymore? I am sick and tired of snap crackle pop bass. James Jamerson never did that crap.
you're an oaf, if oyu can't appreciate the sound gtfo, bass is bass its all about play style if there wasn't those snap crackle pop sounds brought to the table by slap[ bass and such it would but just guitars...no bass...so shut your mouth and bask in their glory

EdRulez2306 3 years ago
hes very talented and all, but I dont know how that would sound in a song. He hardly hits any notes.
autopsy87 3 years ago
lol yeah but sounds good and i don't really think he would play like that at all on a song unless he play a solo or something
EdRulez2306 3 years ago
Muy bueno!!
politico222 3 years ago

You could be the fastest slapper in the world but if I you don´t move to another chord I would probably bore the people.

Make no mistake--all those bass players are better than me. I am just sick and tired of every single bass player going "bikkity-bikkity-bikkity-tic-tic-tic-bikkity-bikkity-tic-toc"
etc...etc....ad nauseum.
Very annoying.
craigdamage 4 years ago 2
I found each and every one of those clips highly annoying. Does anybody ever just PLAY BASS anymore? I am sick and tired of snap crackle pop bass. James Jamerson never did that crap.
craigdamage 4 years ago
you're an oaf, if oyu can't appreciate the sound gtfo, bass is bass its all about play style if there wasn't those snap crackle pop sounds brought to the table by slap[ bass and such it would but just guitars...no bass...so shut your mouth and bask in their glory

I sure am glad I play bass better than you construct sentences.

Alex Webster is mainly a death metal bassist. He doesn't do slap all that much, but he's really good at it.
Check out his band Cannibal Corpse.

For even a better example of his skills, check out an other band he plays in called Blotted Science.

That Jo Sallins guy is a beast!
furchmeister17 4 years ago 2
those who are bagging quintin obviously don't know who he is.
He is a real talented bass player, and the reason he holds his bass like that is because he first learnt how to play the violin.
Stop bagging him he's in two bands and making more money than all of you.
funkbassboy 4 years ago
Still, it looks really stupid. A bass isn't a fucking violin. Why not play a cello like it's an electric guitar
MisterMysterious 4 years ago
I know it may sound stupid, but music really has nothing to do with image, unless you're a talentless overproduced pop artist
funkbassboy 4 years ago 3
tbh i think it looks much more badass!!!

Quintin's clearly a phenomenal bassist, listen to what he's playing not how he's holding the bass....
krisdrepko 4 years ago
