I'll be shooting a music video (dubstep) in the next coming weeks and wanna be using the right cam for this project.

Its gonna be my first real project and I'm scared as hell :P

There is no budget and I ain't getting payed either but who cares right! A project is a project!

The episodes had some really nice tips (and humor) to keep my brain in focus and not only the camera :P

But but but..... why did you sold the 5D2 for the 7D?

Because of frame rates (ok I love 60p for slomo) or other reasons?

I don't think I can give up on full frame sensor and take a step back using crop.

Anyway keep those tutorials coming they get better and better with each new one

Mainly for the frame rates (we need 24p), but the crop sensor isn't as bad as you'd think. The video quality is nearly as good as the Mark II and we can use EF-S lenses as well.

I recommend you go to a camera store and play with a 7D. There are so many new features it makes the Mark II feel really outdated :)

Thanks for the quick response! How does the 7D compare to the EX1? I'm considering selling my HMC150 for one because I'm tired of the weight of the 35mm adapter plus rails, but I'm still a little apprehensive.

It's entirely different type of filmmaking. You really have to get used to the form factor and change how you shoot. But I definitely recommend it. The quality of the 7D is much better than the EX1. I have a blog entry written about it at esotericsean. com

Thanks! It's a Canon 5D Mark II, color graded in Magic Bullet, and exported as 1280x720 30p mpeg2 file in Premiere CS4 :)

I think the bitrate was about 10 mbps
