We should have already been there. Back in the 1960's South Koreans came to Pakistan in order to copy it's economic model (we had double digit growth year after year) but Pakistan wound up getting involved in the war against the soviets (which I have no problem with) and this led to other problems like Afghan refugee crisis and the KGB setting up the BSO (later the BLA) in Baluchistan (from my readings they are secularists - have no interest in Islam or brotherhood).

The Port JUST opened in 2008 (I think late 2007) but only the first phase (though ships are able to dock). I believe the Singapore Port Authority is running it and helping to upgrade the port and the 2nd (final) phase should be complete in 2010.
There are also plans on extending an oil pipeline from Iran through Pakistan into China (no longer India) and new oil drilling sites in Pakistan are being built as well as an oil refinery that would be used to refine the oil from our Muslim brothers/sisters in the Middle East.
This port will give Pakistan huge economic and strategic importance in the region. Its a gateway from oil-rich Middle East to Central Asia. Back in the 1960's South Koreans came to Pakistan in order to copy it's economic model (we had double digit growth year after year) but Pakistan wound up getting involved in the war against the soviets (which I have no problem with) and this led to other problems like Afghan refugee crisis and the KGB setting up the BSO (later the BLA) in Baluchistan (from my readings they are secularists - have no interest in Islam or brotherhood).

Already finnished.
The Port JUST opened in 2008 (I think late 2007) but only the first phase (though ships are able to dock). I believe the Singapore Port Authority is running it and helping to upgrade the port and the 2nd (final) phase should be complete in 2010.
What this will do is make Gwadar a future Dubai.

There are also plans on extending an oil pipeline from Iran through Pakistan into China (no longer India) and new oil drilling sites in Pakistan are being built as well as an oil refinery that would be used to refine the oil from our Muslim brothers/sisters in the Middle East.

Yes, I remember he sent some of his army by ship to resupply his troops on thier march back to Susa. They got lost and as a result Alexander lost much of his army in the desert. Still claims of buried treasure from his army. He was shot by an arrow while leading a charge on a building, if I remember correctly. He was the first to scale the walls. Brilliant leader. It was at that time that his army refused to go further and Alexander brooded in his tent for 10 days, before giving in.
