@convictded Similar to the whole band names topic, The Black Keys got their name from a schizophrenic who said they were like the black keys of a piano, the sharps and flats. It was his way of saying they were slightly different in an almost wrong sort of way and if you ask me he was kind of accurate. Funny thing is, he'd use it in all sorts of different contexts. Like, " Go get me a two liter of mountain Dew and a pack of smokes or you're the Black Keys." I think Pat Karney said that exactly.
