  • Miscommunication my ass.

  • Is he okay??

  • @TittyTittyBangBangXX Yes, he is ok.

  • @ATTI0822 Nasty crash, It seemed like the car infront didn't check his mirrors and tried to block him.

  • Very similar to Jeff Krosnoff's fatal accident. But look at those cars! Incredible safety standards.

  • @rfactormo yeh jeff krosnoffs crash was very similar!. this guy got lucky

  • Is "horroristic" even a word?

  • @Mclarenboy100 I don't think so... but it should be! I'm gonna use it!

  • @Mclarenboy100 was just gonna say that :P

  • I think he has made his return in a race not long ago

  • Van Der Drift DID NOT escape unhurt.I know a person that is a close friend of VDD and was his guest at the track that day. He had several fractures, including ribcage, his hand got stuck under the car while the wreck was sliding after the impact, and this has completely ripped off the skin. His bones and tissues were exposed up to the forearm. The day after he visited him and his eyes were completely RED due to the blood rushing, and he was throwing up pieces of lung... Hardly unhurt

  • @aledelverne Ouch. Is he still racing today?

  • To all the people answering to me: I well know he is Van Der Drift!

Since he escaped unhurt I was only trying to make some fun, being actually a loop, not a drift, what his car did.

I never thought I would have to explain it... :(

  • Surtees' death*

  • Someone below said brands hatch causes many crashes such as surtees & Herbert, Surtees' swath was a freak accident, due to a failing wheel tether, NOT BRANDS HATCH, & just because Herbert crashed in the same place doesn't mean it was brands hatch, was another freak racing incident. No fault of the track.

  • @xMatt16 Brands Hatch would be safer if it had larger run-off areas.

  • @back2frinky Brands is a FIA Grade 2 circuit which is just one grade down from Formula One standards. Run off wouldn't have prevented Van Der Drift from taking off. It was not the circuits fault that this accident happened it was driver error

  • "let him pass on the left" my ass, he just wanted to press him off the road.

  • It's "horrific" instead of "horroristic." :-)

  • did he say thats a huge accident by crash bandicoot?

  • @ellisqpr86 looooooooooooooooooool

  • @ellisqpr86 yes

  • @ellisqpr86 It really sounded like it XD

  • @mellilore nope it was van der Drift

  • OOH whats that? LOL

  • Commentators are wrong, that is Van der Loop, not Van der Drift

  • @mellilore Van der TOOL.

  • @mellilore its not loop its van der drift...

  • so lucky to get away from this one.

  • A mnie dzisiaj wali z dupy gnojówką.

  • @B999wppl

    Wykurwiaj.

  • @Jant00

    Jaki Ty, kurwa, elokwentny jesteś;)

  • Car these days are alot safer than back in 1994 otherwise he would be dead now.

  • Van der Drift = best racers Name ever!

  • @Marauder1981 what about yank f1 failure scot speed, better Aussie will power had to go yank racing as could'nt raise f1 budget. or get this DREW GOODSPEED. genuine none professional race fan who drives organises kart racing for m.sport fans of the company he works for. now if he could of driven professionally that would have to be the best name ever.

  • OMG

    what a bad accident !

  • Van der Drift is back this weekend to race again. Congrats on your speedy recovery Chris.

  • Are these cars the old A1 GP cars ? If not what has happened to those ?

  • @spinbaldak AutoGP serie

  • @alexgf1 its superleague

  • @spinbaldak no those are still being liquidated, these are basically champ cars

  • @spinbaldak

A1 GP went into liquidation last year, Superleague Formula cars are different they are 750bhp not 600bhp and they are V12's not V8's so much more powerful engines!!

  • Brands Hatch has a terrible knack of creating terrible crashes: Jacques Laffite, Johnny Herbert, Henry Surtees and now Chris v. d. Drift. Awful...

  • I have agree with Vitto.I was sitting on the bank just before westfield for the first race and the Roma car carried out 2 servere blocking moves at the end of the straight. One of which i caught on video and have posted.Have a look and see what you think????

  • That was like Webber's crash in F1 a few weeks ago in a way.

  • .the presenter say it was a miss communication between the 2 drivers because the guy in front pulled to the right to left the guy in the back pass..that was more like Vetttel move against Webber. Kind of intensionally turn to make him brake.

  • The Dutch newspaper AD reported that he had suffered a double broken leg, broken fingers, ribs and a broken shoulderbone.

Quite a lot of injuries but it could have been worse..

  • @FireWorX88

Right. He could have been dead for e.g. :/

But thanks to god, he "just" broke "several things" :)

  • the schumacher way to get rid of competitors...

  • did the guy survive

  • @peterdegrotere yeah he´s still alive...

  • I was at the bottom of the hill where the car came to rest.It was a horrible thing to see close up.
