This is probably my favorite performance by Brooke on American Idol, because she took a really mesmerizing/powerful ballad & turned it into a unique style all her own. Aching, yearning, sentimental & charismatic. She conveyed much meaning & depth with the lyrics, with a country-esque twist. She has much control with her voice & can use it effectively to "emotionally" affect the viewers & fans. She would have been a blast in the folk era. Everything about this was perfect from start to finish. A+

Here it is. Brooke was fabulous here.  And why, because she sang the song without worrying. Brooke needs to stop trying to smile while she sings, and stop trying to look likable and Just SING like she used to. she has the goods, I just hope she relies on them before its too late.
