If you are the humans and Usurpers managed to achieve Transcendence then you are in big trouble.

The game shows that Planet after Judaa Marr leads the Transcendence is a hellish nightmare for everyone. He even forced the humans (now mind controlled by him) to conquer Earth for Progenitor colonization!

I disagree. The old stagnate because of their infirmity and are incapable of achieving things they could once do at a time where they hadn't yet acquired the wisdom.

Clinical 'immortality' (till the stars die out) would allow a real path to transcendence and a way out of the solar system. Therefore there can be renewal in immortality.

If you think about it this victory for the rival faction, and loosing for you is a little ironic in my opinion. Once the Transcendence starts it doesn't matter at all started it, every single being, no matter are were enemy or not have the same benefactory of it. After Transcendence it is insignificant who originally started it since there are no individuals, therefore no rivals or friends, no winner or loosers.

It was stated that the faction that first completes the Ascent will be the first to merge with the god-mind, and therefore their personalities will be more dominant within it.

The real question is how far does the transcendence wave reach? The aliens won't be laughing when someone dozens of light years away causes them to transcend too!

From the apparent designate naming "tau ceti flowering", the transcendance wave seems limited to Centauri. And, contrary to popular belief, transcendance may have been achieved on Alpha Centauri before (who knows ? That's at least what the pprogenitors say)

But, assuming the transcendance in AC is what it is supposed to be..... it wouldn't be long before those laughing aliens have the last laugh....
