  • Can someone please tell me the guitar model. Is the ACS SA? Slim? Thanks!

  • Simply the Best!

  • WOW!!!!!

  • So the multiac tracks well? Anyone know if carvin NS1 is as good? Anyone have a GI-20 and GR-55? Is there a definite improvement in GR-55? Thanks

  • I was almost asking this girl to marry me... but then i saw "jack" ... OMG !!! but you are good man !

  • Awesome job man, I was listening to this while working, and not watching the video, and I thought it was Pat at first!!

  • Is the GK3 the only attatchable pickup you can buy to use the GR55?

  • @speedygland The GK settings allows for a couple of different guitar and bass pickups, basically GK-3A, GK-3B, GK-2A, GK-2B and various piezo pickups.

Download the GR-55 owner's manual from the Roland site for details.

  • great job!, can you send the patches to me?

  • Very good! Have you made this user patch es335 in gr55?

  • You're great dude.

  • Man, that's so sweet!

  • อาจารย์แจ้กลงพุง อิอิ

  • Good lord... I was just looking for a video demoing a Godin guitar. This is great. If I simply heard this, and someone told me it was Metheny, I'd believe them.

  • @zwalrus1 Yep, very Metheny

  • Sooo glad I stumbled across this. Really really good!

  • Faultless. Great Work :)

  • this guitar and the gr-55 are amazing... But the guitar player is the most impressive here !

  • Whoa - you're not just Pat Metheny but Lyle Mays too! Great job.

  • wow!!!!!! simply amazing

  • Fantastic!

  • really great!

  • very nice...

  • I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR PACO DE LUCIA USING THAT SYNT, VERY CLEAR SOUND AND TONE... NICE JACK

  • much better than war, terror and hunger...

  • Great Tone..

  • heavens,,,,is it only the Roland sound, no basic guitar sound?,,,,wonderfull *****

  • I have a nylon string Godin guitar similar to this one. It has a 13 pin output next to the 1/4 inch output and can plug into a Roland product or an AXON product. (another guitar synth - uses same pickups as Roland uses.) You can see buttons on the upper bout. One slider and two buttons function as those on the GK-3 pickup. I play a GR-33, a Roland VG-88. I'm impressed that nylon strings trigger so well. I've been putting off buying the 55. This video makes me want to just get one tomorrow.

  • Easy he works. That way he can buy them. He teaches lessons.

  • Jack, you have excellent command of the instrument and great taste to play. These two single factors make you overshadow a lot of your contemporary colleagues. I take my hat off to you. Stay in the excellence.

  • 8 guitar players need to practice a little more

  • Bobby told me you were good...wow, That was an understatement!!!!

  • how to use gr55 without gk3 pick up?

  • @joel1974ful the guitar basically has a gk built in.

  • amazing smooth jazz tones.... :D

  • Jack The Wizard Thammarat cast his magic spell !! ^_^

  • great sound, one question.

could you play vst instruments from a laptop on the stage with the g3 55 ?

    thanks four your time

  • @cesartorresguitarra

According to Roland-NOT! But you might be able to play the other Synths w/ the GR-55, I haven't tried it yet but will get back when I do! Awesome guitar playing!

  • The steve stevens gr-55 and this video makes me SMILE and gives me a good feeling... I am going to buy one... and i guess a roland ready guitar. (don't like the big lump you have to put on your existing guitar)

  • Very nice... a lot of your licks are worth stealing. Thanks for sharing!

  • Incredibileeee!!! Esiste anche il karaoke di Metheny...... Comunque il GR55 è interessante e il ragazzo ha il giusto coraggio.....

  • ha ha ha dude youre good

  • holy shit.......IN A GOOD WAY!!

  • Tighter than your average nun, as usual.

  • เพราะมากๆครับ

  • hey bro, i'm very impressive with your play, please send me guitar pro tab chromatic jazz style that you often play

  • Dude you shred on that thing! Nice guitar playing : )

  • Damn, that processor is bigger than your head!!

[your performance is kickass as usual :)]

  • Very impressive. I am a happy GR-55 owner and am impressed what you pull out of it.

  • Amazing track. Except the choir part. That just dont fit there. My opinion.

  • Try that little trick at 1:19 with your Epiphone and a little reverb,

    Big Ron

  • two words HOLY SHIT!!!! YOUR EVEN PLAYING LYLES PART..

  • I just purchased a Godin Multiac SA - "You Alone" have convinced me to invest in the Roland GR-55. I had reservations about the tracking and usability of GR-55. You have blown away any of the Roland demos that demonstrate a true application that represents a completion of a song. Great job, wonderful musicianship and I hope to see you on a few CDs! ~ Peter

  • hey this is pretty bad ass!!!

  • where did you get this backing track ? I want it too !

  • Jack I love your playing. You are a very tasty player. I hope you go far you deserve it.

  • i wish i can use this midi guitar to control my Vst instruments :Q__

  • @Darkvinx88 you can.

  • @beatnikcafe as far as i know it works only with the roland synths :\

  • @Darkvinx88 I think I see the misunderstanding. The guitar must be connected to a GK2a or GK3a compatible device. Currently there are no decent direct midi out capable guitars. There are many interface options available but the two i recommend would be GR55 or StringPort. You connect the Godin and then the GK interface connects to you computer to send midi to your VSTs.

  • @beatnikcafe The Godin synth access guitars don't need anything but a 13 pin cable that feeds into the GR pedal. Each string is on a piezo saddle that converts the string vibration to midi data internally with the Godin setup. No GK pickup is required with Godin's or some Brian Moore models. Tracking is much better than the GK pickups in my experience. The Godin guitar and GR-55 is about as good as it gets. You get magnetic pickup sounds on some models (xtsa, LGX and LGXT), acoustic and synth.

  • There's no need of a synth to get this sound. You can get it with any hollow body, even a bloody cheap ephiphone and a bit of reverb...

  • @nochocplease What? Reverb gives a piano sound?

  • Basically, Jack can play piano and choir too

  • Very nice Jack! I have the same Guitar and love how you get the ES-335 sound from the Godin with the GR-55's modeling capabilities. I might have to move up from the GR-33 and GR-20. Super playing by the way!

  • cool cool ..... ah yes....

  • you go boy! amazing what a treat and pleasure to the ears.

  • hi could you tell me where in the gr 55 (i own onesince two hours) is this es-335 sound to find?

    thanks

    jy

  • Great stuff Jack ! Keep it coming.

  • Great demo, kid! Makes we want to go out and pick up a GR-55 and a Godin. Sweet demo! Keep up the great work and keep on playing! Thanks for inspiring this 'old man!' Peace!

  • Great playing! after watched your Boss JM8 video, I bought a JM8. and now I am watching this video, have decided to buy a GR55. Do you work for Boss/Roland? ;-) BTW, I have an ACS-SA as well, not slim though.

  • not so flat stomach...but the guitar tech and play is good! doesn't matter...to fat or not to fat , lol

  • truly amazing playing. Every demo I've watched so far is just a lot of rock guitarist using sustained effects that you can get on a small guitar processor for a fraction of the cost but this demo's some good clean sounds of the gr-55 so thanks.

  • I already know you were a great guitarist, but playing Metheny shows you also have great taste! Keep it up.

  • VERY NICE!

  • เท่าไหร่อะคุณแจ็คสนใจพวหsynthมานานแระ....หรือจะแลกกะline6 x3 เดี๋ยวเพิ่มตังให้555

  • Very nice playing and choice of sound as well !

  • Please post some more gr-55 videos, you are great my friend! Amazing.

  • a very creative way to cover this song.

  • Please post more GR-55 videos!

Your playing is amazing. I've listened to this video about about 20 times now and I like it better than the orginal Pat Metheny version. I play this YouTube version at work for background music and my co-workers love it!

    Again...please post more GR-55 videos!

  • @nelcatjar wow! you're cool!! you're better than Pat, you know why? coz you don't have to make dying faces when playing....coool man!!!

  • Nice Job! Perfect!

  • wahhhh.That was great!!!

  • Pick attack and phrasing is superb. Fantastic performance!

  • for some reason when i heard the intro it reminded me of the cartoon little bill LOL

  • superb!!!!

  • @TarToNYSHoPPeR find ich auch ;-)

  • please do one metal song, just one!

  • @stevenreid1990 How about Jack Thammarat "Intro xxx (2004)" ? Search this song on youtube to listen it. I think he also metalism, he was once called Jack Dreamtheater if I'm not mistaken.

  • ไพเราะมากเลยครับ

  • The fact is Jack is listening out for anything that requires a high level of technique and musicianship. Pat is an absolute rock for this sort of stuff. He is the man. Jack has managed to nail it really well but it would be so awesome if he could go and spend some time with guys like Pat Metheny or Jim Hall. I guess it depends what Jack wants from the immense talent he possesses. All the best to him; he's such an inspiration to me! :)

  • โอ้ว้าว โกดินๆ

  • wow this video made my day.

  • Five stars Jack ;) Always the best of the best...

  • Nice job Jack. Was the 335 sound a preset patch on the GR-335?

The GR-55 hasn't hit the UK yet but I have one on order. Cant wait to use it with my Frame modern nylon midi guitar.

  • Great job :)))

  • Amazing!!!

  • Damn, this is amazing. Very impressed with this one.

  • Have a listen to Savage Garden's self titled debut album and listen to Rex Goh's genius on their US #1.

  • Brilliant! Hey, music labels out there here is a talent you should strongly consider to add to your list of artists. If Jack live in a western country he would be snapped up as a 1st call session...I cenrtainly would. He covers so many genre so well.

Rex Goh (ex Air Supply), a very well respected session guitairist in Aus is of the same vain. He made the move from Singapore to Aus in the 70's. A move I don't think he regrets.

  • Great rendition Jack !

  • great user and great equipment

  • Very nice and very tastefully done - as all your videos are, Jack. Can you post more of the GR-55 using it's synth sounds only? Thanks :)

  • Beautiful Piano sound

  • 'm always amaze at Jack's fluidity...

  • 100th like :):)

  • this is so fricken awesome!

  • Very nice interpretation of here To Stay. Pat is one of my favorite guitarist and composer.

Could you post an improvisation example with synth lead demo.

    Regards

  • How are you affording all of these equiptments?!

  • @takumanishiya23

i dont think he is actually buying all this stuff by him self.

  • @takumanishiya23 by performing? duh...

  • @takumanishiya23 sponsors?

  • @takumanishiya23 I think someone sponsors him. With his ZOMG talent, I shouldn't be surprised with the number of sponsors he has. Haha.

  • @takumanishiya23 with money ajjajaja

  • @takumanishiya23 once you're professional, you get free stuff...!!!

  • @takumanishiya23 there not in a recession...and have jobs :(

  • @takumanishiya23 yeah the guitar itself cost a lot yet alone the gr55

  • @takumanishiya23

    he's rich

  • @takumanishiya23 He wins most of the equipment, but I seriously think that such music corporations gladly give him equipment for free.

  • everything is amazing except the choir sound, sure thats what I had on my £200 yamaha keyboard about 10 years ago. Despite that, ES335 and Piano are amazing and the playing is beautiful! Love the godin, you never cease to amaze us Jack!

  • Oh I didn't see the second section..

  • You own a Gibson-335 why are you using a simulator?

  • @DistortedV12

    to present GR-55
