No. This was the X350 ('03-'10), a brand new all aluminium XJ (in 2002). Although it looked old fashioned, it was cutting edge and is still the only all aluminium car in its class. In spite of this, it was a much stronger shell than the old steel one. ('97-'02)

The X type shared a chassis with the Ford Mondeo, which I think is what you mean.

The S type ('98) was based on a Lincoln I think, but the suspension was radically improved in 2002, and it became a much better car.

One of the legends on the road....BMWs is the E34, and this is the Jaguars...probably the last great car they made. My next car to purchase I hope!

Good Lord, that's quite something! To be able to corner that flat, while also riding as well as the old XJ does, is little short of a miracle... what isn't so surprising is the fact that Mike Cross, Jaguar's chief chassis engineer, might as well have 'sideways' as his middle name, he's famous for drifting.

I already got different set of wheels on my XJR, but they are called 20" callsto oem wheels, for anyone interested, they seem to be Euro spec, so the states don't have that option. thanks anyways
