its because america has a large domestic audience , that it can rely on for profits which can justify a big budget for films, whereas european and certain asian countries domestic markets are tooo small to justify a large production budget and marketing budget. thats why american films do well , not neccessarily because they are suppirior films but because of more marketing and the english language i guess! thats my 2 cents

The reason why americans basicly rule in cinema is becuz are stuff is mostly quality shows,movies & videos compared to the cheesy stuff the europeans & asian markets put out, dont get me wrong there is a couple good foreign videos out there but compared with the yearly output of american videos you wouldnt notice.

@MrHairyNutz The reason is that America got a head start. It is the birthplace of cinema and that is why it is more advanced than many countries. But now, some countries like Korea have gotten ahead and so Hollywood is buying a lot of Korean movies to remake.
