@supaman36618 It should work just fine although it will 'wear out your gun' faster than standard ammo. For example instead of wearing it out at 100000 rounds you may wear it out in 97500 rounds. Obviously there is not exact answer but almost all modern guns are rated for +P ammo.
Hey man, great tests; I enjoy watching different kinds of rounds being tested. I wish I had a set up like yours. You definitely inform and help out a lot on what are effective rounds and which aren't. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for testing these man! This is my duty load, and the bullets we recovered from our test media are excactly like the ones you fired...maybe I dont need to change to the federal efmj.
hornady, are you kidding, did you really watch the film? The gun did not feed and that is one problem with hornady. The conicle slug has no roundness to it, it is straight like a V and it has not fed well in my guns. I use Winchester SXT, in my 40 caliber.
My XD .45 feeds them fine. They are very accurate as well.....After watching andre's videos our department has tested the 230 ranger T and as of yesterday it is now our duty load. We ordered 4 cases friday. I bought 1 case myself.
Thanks for that PM with the details... Looks like I will be switching to Ranger-T's myself. I was on the fence with the HST's but auto glass is their downfall. Thanks!
One more thing...If you had not put all of your effort and money into all this ammunition testing....everybody who cares about their safety and the safety of their family would never know what is best...the best buy...or what sucks in the ammo world.......THANK YOU! My family and my best friends that I have the privilege to work with every day are a lot more protected by the ammo we now choose to carry.......Really....thank you.
you got a cheap gun, and you failed to mention what it is, XD's and Glocks are no problem, maybe your gun can't take +p rated ammo, ever though of that loser?
look here rookie, guns with tight tolerances like 1911's with narrow feeding ramps don't like these rounds after the gun gets dirty, now he was just testing the ammo, he obviously limp wristed and the kick combine with the weak grip leads to that... you guns might just suck! hornady is a premium maker of ammo in the gun industry, some 1911's were designed around ball ammo, newer models like Kimber's solve that, and combat guns like Glocks eats these things like a fatman eating hashbrowns!
rookie-who you calling rookie, cookie? I was out shootin the best while you was pooping green. Are you saying that sigs and M&P's aren't any good. That's my brand. Go take your "JAM"inez and run up a tree.
These are some of the few defensive rounds worth my money. I carry these in my 5" 1911 or TAPs which share the same bullet. I carry the XTP .357 sig rounds in my glock 33 as well. Accurate, Deadly, Dependable.
