  • nice job with the water shuttle. I live on long island(NY) we live within a mile of the ocean so we have to draft water from the bay. I give you guys alot of credit. It must suck with no hydrants

  • Just to let you guys know, I was in charge of operations at this call. Both myself and OIC were on the roof prior to sending crews there. Also, as Blitz said, this part of the building was not affected by fire.

Also, instead of letting it burn and being on scene for 4-6 hours. The fire was extinguished with an aggressive interior attack and units were back in service in approximately 1 1/2 hours. Also, Matt, thatnks for coming, you guys will be rolling in on all of our boxes/

  • Why would the Chief send guys to the roof of an abandoned house to risk FF lives.... a bit stupid on his part.....

  • Because it

    1) It is not a house

    2) The structure was full of tire's and needed to be vented.

    3) This is what firemen do they vent roof's and attack a fire.

  • What was actually vented was at the point where two roofs came together. The roof we operated off of was undamaged in the fire and stable.

  • I dunno if I'd be on the roof of an abandoned building. Let the fire take the roof & deck gun it; or aim inward and foam the hell out of it.

  • what county in pa is this in im in northumberland county

  • Lower Northumberland county

    Located in Mount Carmel Twp.

Just north of 54 and 61 junction on Rt 54.
