Love this video to a great song. I wish more videos were done like this. Not a celabration of somones ego but just an expresion / inspiration of the song.
I love this song so much almost from the minute it was realesed but am so disappointed to see the video which I have finally seen thru youtube. Jane your music is exemplary but I am totally lost with this video.
"Unfortunately"? Artists evolve, sometimes becoming unrecognizeable. Jane Siberry/Issa is ever-changing, the mark of an artist! (but New Buffalo is quite good, I agree)
I came to this CD "When I was a Boy" in about 1995 and I this is one I my most favorite songs. This is the first time I have seen the video. very deep CD
Thanks for this - never seen the full version before just the clip on her website. Great treat to find any video of this underrated talent and particularly from one of the best albums ever made... thanks for sharing it.

This has been one of my all time favourites since its release in '93. Unfortunately, she has changed direction (and her name) completely.
Look for "New Buffalo" - the vioce and the style are VERY similar.

Artists do change. I said unfortunately because she's gone in a direction I don't seem to be able to follow. It's only unfortunate for me.
Having said that, I think "When I Was a Boy" was a landmark and would have been difficult to improve on within the constraints of that style.

Ah, I understand and respect that, then. And downright agree w/ the second part - her 1993 album is fantastic.

This truly is one of the best albums ever made. If you read the lyrics of all the songs they are so powerful. Why don't more people know about her?
chocloclo 5 years ago 2
Because she's Canadian and Canadian artists are often very talented but Canadians are not marketing people and don't know how to sell themselves.
