Just saw them at Mohegan Sun in CT this past Saturday, they played Down as the second song and they played this and it sounded so damn good. No matter what the fairweather 311 fans say, I like the new songs and they blend in well with the older songs

@reggaecracker Huge set is an understatement, while I really wanted to hear Omaha Stylee I was pleasantly surprised with Starshines,Mindspin,Prisoner and the show opener Large In The Margin. And the played Down as the second song not the closer. But they coulda forgone Jackpot for FTBS though. Otherwise it was an awesome gig.

You know, it's not a terrible song, but I'm in the "their old stuff was better" camp. And it's not because I'm a "fairweather fan" or anything like that. The new songs simply lack the lyrical integrity of the old songs. They sound lazy and uninspired, filled with cliches. 311 has had a profound effect on my life, but I can also recognize that now they're on autopilot instead of cranking out well-rounded songs. After 20+ years I can't really blame them, but I miss the old days.

311 is kickass but the problem is that people hate on them because they don't have the same sound. this is a funny problem if you look at it. bands get criticized for sounding the same but when they dont sound the same on every song people complain about that. sounds like a personal problem if you ask me lol

this is definitely the best song on the new album. This one and "a ways to go" are my favorites. I grew up listening to 311, from album numero uno all the way to universal pulse. I have to say that I like their older stuff better. I was disappointed that their new album is only 8 songs. I preordered the album on vinyl and cd and when I realized I spent 50 bucks on an 8-song LP. I was almost kicking myself, but I didn't see it as a total loss. I was really hoping to win the autographed PRS guitar

I got into 311 starting with uplifter actually, and I like it a lot. Then i listened to all the other ones. Sure, their "old stuff" isn't what you hear here. But, they still have their signature 311 sound..there's something about every song, no matter if it's new or old. All of their music is great and feels right. Am I right, Excitable Ones? :D

311 is still a good band, but their glory days of the 1990's and erly 2000's are over. That was when they were a great band. I seen them in cincert right before 'Evolver' was released and it was amazing. Of the 8 songs on 'Universal Pulse' only two of them stand out as catchy tunes. 'Sunset in July' and Count me in are great, but the rest is definetely not therir best.

Just picked up the album today! GREAT album and this is my 2nd favorite song on it (after time bomb). 311 continues to pump out the positivity. They have always been my fav. band, seen em' 7 times live and they will continue to make the best music with a positive message! Can't wait to see em rock Philly again in a few days!
