  • Israiles APCs are better because they dont need as much fuel to get to their enemys. Israiles APCs could not endure the distance needed in a normal war because they are basicly an MBT with no turret and instead a passanger compartment.

  • Search and destroy tanks would need a load of Mraps to follow them to refuel it and maintain it. Heavy tanks have thin armour on the bottom insurgents would just IED the fuel and mechanics vehicles so the tanks run out of fuel or breakdown.

  • really? SPAIN has bought mrap to use them in afghanistan after our bmr were jumping too often over the airs : ' ( ...Is it an bad vehicle? ( sorry my english man )

  • ya those are like heavy humvees

  • @CapitanFiro No. MRAP is a great compared to the HMMWV and BMR.

  • I know for a fact that the US bought a few mine protected vehicles from South Africa (Mambas i think) in the mid nineties for trials but i think they still thought they would be fighting Russians. I think with the Cougar they have missed the point of these vehicles that is the compromise between mobility and protection. I can see the benefits of the Cougar in urban warfare or as a spearhead convoy vehicle , i find it interesting the US takes a simple concept and pumps it full of steroid.

  • CHUCK! I met you at carolina baptist church this past summer! how the heck are you doing?!

  • I have worked on these truck over seas and they all have there ups and down seen a lot ridin in a lot on convoys and i would take the couger that is for sure i dont like war but it is life it is all ways goin to be here i just here to ya'll boys over there safer thats 335th i am with ya'll all the time

  • top speed of 109 mph, and itt weighs 38,101 kg

  • I helped build these. They have upgraded the armor on them now to help with the IEDs. They're still not 100% but if I were over there, this is what I'd want to be in. They have a lot of plus features that aren't mentioned in this or any video that I've seen on here... Great vehicles and saves our troops lives. 1 particular thing I didn't like about it is it only gets between 4-6 MPG. KAT1 is designed to carry 6 troops safely, KAT2 carries 8

  • THANK GOD FOR MRAPS =]

  • its not an abraham tank you braindead moron.

  • why don't they use search and destroy tanks for mines, the ones that are equipped with rolling cylinders full of steel chains?

  • Manual detonations?

  • some are detonated by cell phones not impact.

  • because many IEDs are remotely detonated

  • multiple reasons, the biggest one being cost. it takes 10 gallons of fuel just to start a tank. and a lot of ieds are made to destroy or disable tanks. mraps are a lot cheaper, carry a lot more troops, and are much easier to operate.

  • 10 gallons to start a tank? I don't believe it's that much, bud... You got a source?

  • there are better ones, it's just they cost more money and the US only likes to buy stuff from their main military contractors, check out the golan mrap. check out israel's armored vehicles they are top notch since they live a couple miles from their enemies.

  • Majority of US Combat Vehicles & Tanks are no match against the IED. Majority of our US Tanks become Junks in Iraq...

    see attachment

  • Most of those vehicles were salvaged, and scrapped. MRAP is not invincible obviously..but its more durable, and survivable than the old Humvee. As for you comment that a majority of our tanks are destroyed, well, you are retarded.

  • i sure hope im lucky enough to get one of these, im a driver and my company is falling in on 30 of these bad boys. hooah ARMY MP :)

  • South africans had vehicles like this since the 1960's (Buffel). Why did it take so long to field them.

  • I work for BAE SYSTEMS, and I weld and make armor plating for these trucks. im glad and proud to see my work save lives of our soldiers. keep up the great work.

  • we travel in rg33l and a month ago my convoy was hit with an rkg-3. the only damage was burn marks and the gunners windows had to be replaced. this vehicle saved the lives of my friends but more importantly my brother, who was driving the vehicle. thank you for your work.

  • Hey, I'm on R&R right now getting ready to go back to Iraq. I've been blown up 6 times and the only thing I ever got was a bad head ache. So next time check with a soldier, and on top of that use proper grammar. This thing has spell check for crying out loud. Thank you.

  • wow thats a hell of a story

And thank you for serving our country

  • does it take alot of thinking to put a bunker on some fn wheels

  • I am an engineer for the drivetrain on the MRAP, and, more recently, the MRAP-light or MATV. The MATV is basically an agile 4x4 MRAP with the same or better protection. We are busting our asses to get these out there to keep people like Joebuyer's son safe. You are all in our prayers.

  • And thank you Seth for your work. My darling is going to be a crew commander in an MRAP starting next month. I am so thankful that he will be better protected because of people like you.

  • I think it is I who should be thankful for families like yours and their service to our country!

  • its ugly

  • make love it

  • they just started to buy rg 33 even 6 wheeled cost only 500 000 and 4 wheeled is 300 000 sooo they found a more cost effective basic mrap

  • the 10,000 just rolled of the line...i watched it on Pentigon chan

  • and to think at 750,000-1.2million dollers per truck do the math, thats alot of tax dollars at work. but atlest thats a some what good cuase. if our troops have to be over their atlest in these theyll be safe.

  • o heck no! im currently building these truck and have been for over the last six months

  • please keep up the good work on these. my son rides around in one with the 101st.

  • i have seen a lot being transported on 1-26 in south carolina since they are made in south carolina

  • i make them in michigan i build the RG33 4x4 and 6x6 and know the mew RG33plus. my place also build the cougars and the ilavs. we also build one other one but i have know idea what that is.

  • this wasnt the vehicle i was thinking of, it is very similar to this though
