Hated the movie mainly for the character's stupidity in not just giving the damn thing poison or filling it with machine gun fire.

Also, while i recognize sharks got really bad rep because of this film, sharks are still one of the few marine animals, if not the only one that could call humans food.

The only problem with Jaws is that it gave the great white shark such a cruel and undeserved reputation. It is actually a magnificent creature and is far less aggressive than the movie portrays it. That said, love the music!

A movie about a particularly mean one is no different than any one of the 200 Jason movies where you can't kill the guy: pure, silly entertainment. That said, if they go poking around swimming areas they have to be dealt with. People's safety comes first.

They intended to have the shark front and center during the whole movie but couldn't because it never worked so they came up with the barrels so you'd know where it was. The barrels and music MADE the movie, and the few minutes of airtime the shark got was all the better for it.
