I feel such a nerd for understanding everything that's going on. Oh come into play tapped tri-lands, so it gives three different types of mana and comes into play tapped. And I quit playing MTG 7 years ago..
I player same match (not finished) for 3 hours non-stop when i played with my friend (wich is new to this game). The only reason was that for his sake we didnt play with flying, and when i played against him later I owned him after 15 mins... AND WHY SO MUCH HATE FOR TOURRETS?!?!?!?!?!?!
Great game. I just hate it when people take so long to take a course of action when there is only one choice to make. If you want to think ahead then do it on your opponents turn to factor in their moves. When it is your turn you should already have all variables calculated with what is on the field and in your hand. But I am fast at this stuff so maybe that's just the way I look at it.
@roflzroflz11256 When the players shuffle their cards around in their hand it helps them see various card combinations better by letting them evaluate single cards and pairs of cards as they get shuffled around. It also stops the opponent from keeping track of cards in your hand (this information is valuable for knowing how long a card has been in their hand, which lets pro players make educated guesses on what that cards might be) and also the shuffling is a mantra that helps thought processes
@HypoLast that's true. also, since most beginning player have a order in the way they hold their cards (first the lands, than spells in order of cmc) its ever easier( i notice this myself if i play against starters)
@roflzroflz11256 Those dudes answered it their MTG way, but the real reason is nervous energy.
When I'm losing I sometimes do the same thing.
I don't go crazy like that guy though.
@BrianWarner1996 My dad is like the best at chess, he's beaten grand masters and shit, but whenever he'd play with me he'd always take like fucking 10 minutes, annoyed the hell out of me. He's like that in all TBStrategy games.
But my point is that maybe there's a reason for it, considering he was/is so good.
@roflzroflz11256 its so there not focusing on one card to make it obvious that they have somthing that could counter the other player or is special in anyway.
Never said there was no luck. Otherwise we're all as good as LSV but just unlucky. What mitigates luck is skill (both in play and deck construction) because after all luck is about odds and your skill will determine how you can stack those odds in your favor (do you have enough lands in your deck to make sure you hit most if not all of your land drops for example)
'Topdecking' a good card is not simply luck; it's through good deckbuilding.
Drawing a card that can get you out of a tough spot is easy when you mainly play cards that will let you get yourself out of a tough spot, or put your opponent in a tough spot.
are jund and naya still being played today? I think they´re too good to let go! i got my jund deck coming soon, and i´m a little worried that it doesn´t see too much play today, am i right?
Great match, great decks, great players, just amazing match, awesome quality, awesome comments, everything awesome, and of course, PORTUGAL SEMPRE, somos os melhores.
I've been playing this game for 10 years and I though sometimes I get annoyed becuase cards are always going out of type 2, I have to say that I really love this game!
@roy852 why would that be awesome, you can watch it every day every time you want on youtube. havent you noticed that tv sucks ass and internet is so much better? you don't need tv anymore you can watch everything you want on your computer aswell
To give less information about what cards they are holding in their hands. It's harder to guess did your played card came from your hand or from top of you deck if you shuffle your hand all the time. Also, sometimes you might notice some great not-so-obvious play just because you look at your hand in a different order. One might argue that is such a minor advantage, but at pro level every little thing you do might make the difference. Personally, I find it relaxing thing to do.
@moosesmokespot You've been fooled man! THE ACTUAL REASON for the constant shuffling is this: They can only remember every past 1 second.. so! if they've seen all cards they are holding, they have to re-shuffle them, 'cause they forgot everything that has happened in the last shuffle, which took about a second. And so a cycle is born. And the coughing is a highly skilled technique (known only by the best most awesomest players) to make your opponent thinks he's going to catch an illness!
@ladiesman2048 to be honest, from a few of the articles i've read from professionals and even talking to tournament players and from personal experience, the shuffling of cards in peoples hands is mostly a nervous tick that a lot of players pick up
Everyone knows that Jund is bullshit, and it's sad that most of the cards in it will cycle out soon. Wait...I mean, it's good that it's cycling out. :D
@dafangstagangsta thinning your deck has actually been proven by the people at the MTG forums. One of the longtime members made a program that simulates 1,000,000 and had a set up that let him see the effectiveness of thinning the deck with fetchlands. It actually costs 4 mana before you are likely to even draw one extra card, and it doesn't happen until some absurdly late turn that no one ever gets to, like 30 something. Check the MTG forum/articles for the full explanation.
How is it that Andre didn't get a penalty for shuffling when he activated the fetch and then played Ranger of Eos. Seems to me the Judge staff was not enforcing rules.
yeah but after the search for the land, there was the second search cause of the ranger, so y would they care if he shuffled after the fetch land if there is just a second search anyway??
Because who's to say he didn't somehow shuffle the in a way that let him topdeck the way he did. Where as if there was a second shuffle he could have very well lost.
you realize that after any shuffle during gameplay, the opponent has the option to shuffle the deck if they wish. Which makes your point really invalid.
Excuses, he won, and im glad he did, all he did was play a fetch and didnt waste time and played ranger to go searching, if you go back and watch, im pretty sure that the deck was cut/shuffled by David..... cmon man its a fair match and a very well played match
reitbuer couldn't handle the enormous creature spells of coimbra, even when being hit with blightning. He should of thought hemorrhage his ranger of eos so that their are no reinforcements from the deck. Plus Naya lightsaber's lands are not as slow as jund's plus the mana efficiency of the creatures
i find it funny u guys can make fun of combra but hes a world champion an what r u some scrub ass bitches an andre would beat all of us so lay off hes a really good player (who top decks like a mother fucker)
