i was at the race when it happened, it was not good. rumor has it that there was a fork recall but it slipped through the cracks and Stein didn't know. glad to hear he's ok!

Denzel is a pretty big dude but in all honesty, I've been in this sport for over 20 years & I have seen worse but with all the technology that is out there & R&D that probably shoulda been done before this fork was on his bike there is no excuse for that kinda failure. Just really glad he is ok cuz as we all know coulda been much worse.

@kleier100 The rider in seconds crash looks more dramatic but the actual impact he had was not as bad as Denzel's. Riley (2nd place) flipped and landed on his side in the middle of the jump. Denzel fell straight into the front of the lip at full speed. That is more dangerous then flipping through the air. It doesn't look as dramatic but it is worse then the flip.

@743d You think a tire to the shoulder blade is worse then slamming the ground and coming to a dead stop at about 25-30 mph? I'll take a tire to the shoulder blade any time. But then again I know how painful it is to slam into a jump at full speed.

@kleier100 if you pay attention to the video it was a FORK failure. It was a recalled fork, and the frame was in perfect condition prerace. Redline is in no way responsible for this "Redline failure". Watch the interview of Denzel and get your facts straight.

Ouch. Sometimes in big bike companies the manufactures will send out samples which pretty much look like the real deal but are just hashed up so head honchos, marketing teams and photographers can do their thing before the actual product is made. Some parts are not heat treated or maybe made of mild steel rather than cromo. I'd bet the fork in this case was a sample, that the rider mistook for a finished factory item.

yep his fork broke no extra sleeve he got an old fork on his bike from factory , well at least he is ok . damn that was bad
