  • @Jstarks123, Dylan could of made millions without this shitty version it sounds like bob dylan turned Gay.

They have no talent just like your mother last night. :3 .

  • @JarobTV that last line really made a lot of sense....what do you mean Dylan would have made millions without it? DYLAN'S VERSION OF THIS SONG BARELY EVEN CHARTED! do you understand that? I love Dylan's version too, but the Byrds are the ones who made this song popular. Look, I'm not going to exchange insults. Sorry you don't like my renditions, I hope you find the version you like. peace

  • @jstarks123 I prefer Dylans version to the Byrds version but this is very good. Dont get into a slanging war with someone whose only contribution to Youtube is to criticise what others have done. Mockers are ten a penny.

  • The opening sounds like the Gay version of this sound, the singer sounds worse then jstarks123's face. <- and thats ugly!

Bitch Asses think there good There #1 worst cover ever.

  • @JarobTV please do me a favor, work on your English before you post your incoherent bullshit on my page. I could care less what you think of my cover. You know nothing about me, and have no right to judge. Have a great day, you angry little troll.

  • They ruined Mr.Tambourine man, sounds auto turned , they're going to hell.

  • @JarobTV ok...first of all, it's not auto-tuned. Secondly, this is a cover of the Byrds' version, in case you couldn't tell. And yes, they are going to hell for providing Dylan with a number one hit version of his song, and making him millions. Yes, you are correct.

  • Hey Mister Dylan... Thank You !

  • Ehi!!! Mr Tamburine Man..

  • All his songs are beautiful and brings me to my memory's.I love this song we use to sing with friends and my sister's.Thank you.

  • @MsSandtime thanks for your kind words....and I agree...all his songs are amazing.

  • Christ that was soulless. Who would have thought that putting a supermarket jingle to this classic would have destroyed it.....

  • @milanchamps I'm a a big fan of Dylan, and there's no question he's one of the greatest songwriters of all time. If you think the Byrds' version of this song is comparable to a "supermarket jingle," that's fine. You're entitled to your opinion. However, one cannot ignore the fact that the Byrds' version was a #1 hit; Dylan's wasn't even a minor hit. The Byrds made the song popular. If it weren't for their version, Dylan's version would be nowhere near as popular as it is today.

  • You did a great job and I knew this was not Dylan, his is such a unique voice. Still great job though.

  • @discoqueen1970 thank you !!

  • cover why do not you make clear this is a cover fuah

  • really nice cover. It took me a minute to realise it wasnt just like a alternative live version.

  • @AshTraySins thanks bro, so glad you enjoyed!!

  • ah fucken hate it when they don't write "COVER" on the title, my freakin ears

  • Very good, it took a while for me to figure out is was a cover :-O

  • Good cover man!!

  • @johani1717 ...thank you..I'm glad you enjoyed!

  • lovely cover :-)

  • @paulweatherley86 ...so glad you liked...thank you!

  • Bob Dylan eterno.

  • Its really not bad cover ;)

  • @MrPep777 .. thank you!

  • Good stuff and well done!!

  • @umassdrj ...thank you!! Thanks for taking the time to listen!!

  • best song

  • that's awesome!!

  • jstarks ! You are great artist! I just find out today. Voice is soft and calm . I love the way your sing.

Thanks a lot and very much enjoyed.

    Happy new year!

    Taniguci from Tokyo

    I'm afraid bit drunk mmmm...

  • @jozetsuki52 ...thank you for your nice compliment!! I'm glad you enjoyed. Happy New Year to you, too!!

  • This is just greta somg forever and one of my favoite song of Bob Dylan's.

  • "Purist" is not the word one should use for someone who thinks that a song should be performed only by the composer or original artist. The correct word is "idiot!"

  • @PhysicsProf1 ... 100% agreed

  • GREAT cover! ! ! !

  • @PhysicsProf1 ... thank you!!!

  • Great cover! I really like the vocals on this, it sounds a lot like David Crosby from the Bryds.

  • @vintagefan22 ...thanks! glad you liked my rendition. I love David Crosby, I take that as a compliment. Thanks man.

  • You get a dislike just for the comment about the "Dylan purists. This is just stupid!

  • @greatmasterstuable ...Look, I love Dylan too, but the fact is there ARE people who actually believe that no one except Dylan should sing the songs he wrote. This is such a ridiculous way of thinking, being that a good number of his songs were made popular by other artists, and not by Dylan himself. I'm sorry you don't like my version, but if you took the time to listen to even a couple of my other covers, such as "Blowin in the Wind," I think your opinion would change. sorry to disappoint

  • @jstarks123, The fact is if dylan hadn't made these songs, the guy band that covers the songs wouldn't be as big. In my opinion they aren't that good of a cover, no one can make "Good Dylan' covers." They all either sound gay, or horrifying.

  • @JarobTV you're right, and I'm not trying to take anything away from Dylan. He wrote the song, he's the man. Your opinion is as equally correct as anyone else's. There are many people, however, who do like the Byrds' version as well. Their version really did spark the folk-rock genre, so it was very important, in a way. I respect your loyalty toward Dylan's original work...I'm a huge fan of it myself. I just didn't appreciate the insulting personal attack.

  • Nice one! Ignore the red dislikes. Those are people with a trigger happy mind. 100% of them couldn't make a song like this one sound good. Only the Byrds truly pulled it off. This sounds to me like half Byrds, a quarter Dylan and a quarter This uploader. Sounds like a good balance to me anyway.

  • @McPrfctday ... thank you for your kind words. I'm glad you like my version. And you are correct, I was attempting to go for a Byrds' "feel" with this cover, although my admiration for Dylan allowed for a bit of his influence to slip in as well. Thank you for taking the time to listen!

  • Dude, y'all suck.

  • @JarobTV ..thank you

  • @JarobTV .... oh, really? then please record a version of your own and do it better. It's always the talentless pricks who have something negative to say about other peoples' videos. You must be one of those Dylan purists who thinks that no one can ever do it as good as Dylan. For your info, the Byrds' version of this song was the #1 hit, NOT Dylan's version of the song. by the way...you suck too. thanks.

  • it´s bob dylan who wrote the song, he´s covered many times

  • Sure beat's the William Schatner version..... you sing WAY better than Captian Kirk any day of the week!! Seriously though, i love your style and your warm, pure tone. You rock!!!

  • @altareggo ...thanks for your kind words, man. I'm really glad you liked!

  • I really liked this, it reminds me of the original byrds version

  • @Jimmydagreek55 thanks man, so glad you enjoyed!

  • dam you to hell, i waited for this to load 10 minutes and im left with this terrible

  • @240soundwave ....ok, umm, I think that's a little drastic....it's just a song, man...and why the heck would you wait 10 minutes for a song to load? If you're such a Dylan fan, buy his song for 99 freakin cents on itunes!!

  • Thanks Roger (Jim) McGuinn and the Byrds, but for me the finest version is by Melanie Safka

  • Totally cool !!! I was expecting a Dylan version of this song and found a super cool Byrds version instead. To top it off your version sounds like Tom Petty on lead vocal!!!...... Amazing!!! Cheers , John

  • Thank you, I enjoyed that very much. And subbed. Peace <3

  • 2:42,, WOW what a lineup

  • @Millssj ...yes, that was truly Dylan's best live version of this song. The audience was captivated.

  • Dylan wrote great poetic lyrics in Mr. Tambourine Man but I must say I never get tired of hearing the Byrds version. Am I saying the Birds trump Dylan in the vocals in this song? Yes I guess I am!

  • @Sufibooks ...as much as I love Dylan, I have to say I agree with you

  • @Sufibooks that's only your opinion, mine is Dylan sounds better, his voice, vocals and style are one of a kind.

  • @Rickswars Yes it is my opinion - I can only give my bias opinion.

Is that not what is going on here - just personal opinions that no one should take personal!

  • @Sufibooks yes, you're right.

  • This is actually a mockery of Dylan and this excellent, excellent song. NO ONE should sing this song, except Dylan.

  • @Lorieellesh ...you do realize that if the Byrds had never taken this song (and had a #1 hit with it), that this song would not be as popular as it is today. To say that no one should sing this except Dylan is absurd. MANY of Dylan's songs were covered by other artists during the 1960's, who took his songs and turned them into hits...songs like "my back pages," "all along the watch tower," "it ain't me babe"...to name a few..I'm sure Dylan had no problem with the Byrds making HIS song a #1 hit.

  • @jstarks123

Hits also mean $ so who would complain

  • @Sufibooks ...exactly right...there were so many artists who actually made money FOR Dylan by taking his songs and making them hits.

  • NOOOOOOO!!!

    what did you do...:(

  • I also did a cover of this song, the way Dylan did it originally. Perhaps you'd like that better.

  • Well done.... I enjoyed it. Saw Dylan perform it live back in 63

  • @HepcatNZ ..you saw Dylan live in '63?! That is awesome, I am truly jealous. Please tell me what that was like!!

  • best version is Dylan on Rolling Thunder Revue concert. Awesome versions of this song and also Simple Twist of Fate.

  • I love both versions :D

  • Let anyone who likes this version listen to it. To me it is just painful to hear..Don't trick me into watching it by putting dylan's picture on this sad cover!

  • @mrgrtbfrd...wasn't trying to trick you man...Dylan's picture is in there because he wrote it, and the Byrds' pic is there because they had the #1 hit with it. I needed to put pictures in since it's not a live performance. I mean, the Byrds had a huge hit with this version, so I guess enough people liked it. You're entitled to your opinion though, sorry you didn't like.

  • boooooooooooooooo sorry dylans version was the only good1

  • @ThePhil909 ...I love Dylan's version too, and he wrote it. But hey, the Byrds had the number 1 hit with it, so I guess enough people thought their version was pretty good.

  • @jstarks123 yeah yeah fair enough but dylans was the best in my mind and its his song with better words in depth

  • @ThePhil909 ....very true, his version definitely evokes more feeling and emotion

  • @jstarks123

yea well the common man is a fool.

  • @CatorsCinema ...sometimes...but not always. It has become quite "common" for people to try and be uncommon.

  • Great cover! I only wish I could sing as good....GREAT job, you do Bob Dylan proud!

  • @layla0665 ...thanks so much for your nice comment, much appreciated!

  • holy shit i love this song

  • You should write a song!

    Ill subscribe anyways, your great!

  • @Hallootjesful ...thanks man. I've written a couple, but nothing that compares to Dylan's masterpieces. I definitely do need to make an attempt to write some of my own stuff. It's just so tempting sometimes to cover songs that were written by amazing song writers like Dylan.

  • Amazing voice you got, if it's yourself. I can't tell wheter it is you or the Byrds?

  • @LordSergiusCatiline ...thanks so much for your nice compliment... it is me singing. I definitely used the Byrds' version, however, as my inspiration. I love both versions of the song (Dylan's and the Byrds'), for each version evokes different emotions within me.

  • I notice a number of negative criticisms on your rendition - Ignore them. Music is like any other art form, a matter of personal taste. The Byrds' version of this song is one of my all-time favourite tunes - I still get shudders when I hear those opening bars. Your cover of it is very well done indeed.

(I am a long-time fan of both Dylan & the Byrds. However, I actually prefer most of the Byrds' versions of Dylan's songs over the Dylan originals - As I said, it's a matter of personal taste).

  • Outstanding cover of this classic!

  • @Maysey1 ..thanks man, I appreciate your compliment. I listened to some of your stuff...and I love it, really really good stuff!

  • I Dylan prefer (obviously)

  • @LauraGallagher05 ..as do I

  • sweet, but doesn't have the power of the original with Al Cooper on keyboard.

  • @DSAK55 ...very true man

  • @DSAK55 i think you're thinking of like a rolling stone. al kooper didn't play on mr. tambourine man or any track from bringing it all back home.

  • Al Kooper didn't play on the original recording with Bob.

  • this is excellent

  • @sukes58 ...thanks for your nice comment :)

  • great song, well done

  • @dazzablue68 ...thanks man, glad you liked

  • @jstarks123: Jennie is a lucky woman to have ever known you!

  • @TheBigDelicious ..thanks! and i'm lucky that I have people like you taking the time to listen to my covers. Thanks for your nice comment.

  • good job, dude.

  • @jucafii Thanks man, thank you for taking the time to listen.

  • This version rocks brill !

  • @jim7684 ...thanks man

  • Great too ! Big thank you from Russia !

  • great job man

  • @busterdan22 ...thanks bro!

  • I agree, and you are entitled to your opinion. But there are also many people who believe the Byrds' version is the better version, and they have a right to believe that as well. I have a great appreciation for both versions; Dylan's because it's the original, and the Byrds' because they didn't simply copy Dylan's version, but changed it up and added their own style to it. And the Byrds' version of this song is what sparked the folk-rock movement, which I think is pretty important in itself.

  • @jstarks123 I agree

    this is a Nice Version

Either one is Iconic and Wonderful

  • @Jay902017 ..thank you! I am glad someones sees my point.

  • Youtube works on the basis that people are honest-you have not been honest and that is why your very average rendition gets so much criticism

  • @tim60s321 ...sorry you don't like. And I can honestly tell you....the biggest problem people have with this cover is that I did it in the Byrds style, instead of Dylan's. Because I covered "blowin in the wind" in dylan's style, used the same type of heading, and everyone loves it. So, there ya go. I did upload a cover of this song recently that is more true to Dylan's rendition. Anyways, sorry you did not like my "average" performance.

  • @tim60s321 and besides, more than 200 people "liked" this video, so obviously plenty of people think it is better than average.

  • @jstarks123 - the Dylan thumbnail has to go, It's blasphemy, especially considering that you covered the Byrds' sterilized, mojoless version. You did a decent job mimicking mediocrity, but hanging Dylan's image on it nullifies even that.

  • @Celebduath ...you mean the mojoless version that gave Dylan a number one hit? If you remember correctly, not many people wanted to hear Dylan's version back then. The Byrds' version was the popular version. Dylan's version gained popularity as the years went by. I do agree with you that Dylan's version is the best, but give credit where it's do. The Byrds took this song and made it their own. Dylan made a ton of money off their version.

  • @jstarks123 - Yes, that is the mojoless version I am referring to. Money and popularity are not among my criteria for determining whether or not music is any good.

  • @tim60s321 I think you are a tone deaf ignorant twat if I might be so bold! Have a fucking horrible day.

  • what the hell?

you say its for bob dylan, yet you use the shitty byrds version?

the original is the best, just him and his guitar.

  • @onewithtaste ...where does it say it's bob dylan? I agree that Dylan's version is great, but the Byrds didn't exactly do a shitty version...in fact, they made this song a number one hit. And believe it or not, the Byrds' version was actually released before Dylan's. Regardless, this is neither Dylan's version or the Byrd's version...it's my cover.

  • @jstarks123 and i have respect for your covered. all im saying is that dylans version is better, its not just some stupid pop song like the bryds made it.

and dylan released the song march 22, 1965, and the byrds released it april 10th 1965

  • @onewithtaste ...I stand corrected on the release dates. you are right. It still does not mean the Byrds made a shitty version of it. If anything, they made the song their own. And it was that version that initiated the folk rock movement. I'm sure Dylan wasn't complaining when their version of the song hit #1.

  • @jstarks123 there isn't much he could say about it anyway.

for when a band is signed to a record label they lose all rights to there work.

meaning anybody who is on the same label can do their songs, and the writer cant say shit.

  • @onewithtaste ..I know, but my point is...their version gave him a number one hit! And if you're a big Dylan fan, which I assume you are, then you know that a lot of the songs he wrote were not big hits for him, but big hits for other groups. Mr. Tambourine Man (Byrds), It Ain't Me Babe (Turtles), All Along the Watchtower (Hendrix), to name a few. So while he wrote the songs and deserves a majority of the credit, he also owes a bit of credit to groups that took his songs and made them hits.

  • @jstarks123

yes, the Byrds did make the song #1 but did not released it before Dylan.

  • @onewithtaste my words :)

  • @onewithtaste oh wow I thought bob dylan covered the birds but its the other way around? sure about that?

anyways I'm not, do like the dylan version more tho.

    enjoy

  • @inkeldinky ...Dylan wrote the song, and released it about 2 weeks before the Byrds did. The Byrds' version became more popular because it was more contemporary for the time period.

  • @jstarks123 nice, thanks man.

  • P: LORENZINI,SIENA 1976.

  • hey look its nice that you would do a cover of a bob Dylan song. just please though put the word "cover" or "my version" in the title, not the description.

  • @thebeatlesarenumber1 ....cool bro, thanks for not cursing me out like some people!

  • pretty good man!! i like both songs!! :-)

  • @redneckrollercoast1 ....thanks bro!!

  • @turkeypiepie ..thanks so much for the nice compliment

  • another talentless fuck that has to trick Dylan fans into clicking on his videos.

  • @Kafka1479 talentless? A lot of people would disagree with you on that. And where is the talent on your page? Amazing how it's always the people with no uploads who make the degrading comments. And the four letter words really aren't necessary; no one is impressed by a lack of good vocabulary. Anyways, sorry you didn't like my version. Hope you find one you like.

  • @jstarks123

the title should read "COVER Mr Tamborine Man COVER." that way Dylan fans that are seraching for DYLAN"S music can ignore your karaoke.

  • @Kafka1479 ....karaoke is when you sing over a previously recorded track that you did not create. I'm playing the instruments on this track and doing the vocals, so it's not karaoke. Just to save you some time, you're not going to find any of Dylan's original recordings on youtube. You might find some live recordings. And let me ask you, if you had a video with 370,000 views, would you change the title? and I do say it's "my version" in the info box.

  • @Kafka1479 ..I'm not tryin' to argue man, I'm honestly sorry you don't like my cover. I recorded the song in the style that the Byrds' recorded it, which some people don't like. If you like Dylan, check out my cover of "Blowin' in the Wind." I was more true to Dylan's style with that song. Again, sorry to disappoint. If you want the original version of tambourine man, I can give it to you.

  • @jstarks123

no man. its a great cover. i was just pissed when i wrote my comment. i dont have a problem w covers but its just so frustrating when you think you found a Dylan song bc you see a pic of Bob and the title to a song and then you click and it turns out to be a cover. now, if it happened once in awhile, it wouldn't bother me. c'est la vie i guess. anyways, good cover. glad we talked it out, haha.

    cheers.

  • @Kafka1479 ..cool bro, thanks

  • What is this whimpshiat stuff?????????????

  • @HillsoGold ...this whimpshiat stuff was a number one hit for the byrds in 1965

  • Comment removed

  • @alove170 ...you are lucky to have lived through that incredible era. I envy you! Thanks for the nice comment.

  • you dumbass!

  • @workitjtworkit ..??

  • lol

  • good job man

  • very sweet, I really like how you changed it up. You can name your video whatever the fuck you want is what I think. People should know there are almost no actual Dylan songs on Youtube.

  • @latif0lia ....thanks man, I'm glad you liked it. Yea, I don't get all the hateful comments by some people. I mean, it's just a song, lol. And you're right, you would think by now most people would know that all Dylan's originals are off youtube. They're just too cheap to pay 99 cents for them on itunes. Thanks for the support bro.

  • Comment removed

  • @bicnarok ...if you're going to make a comment like that, at least have a cover version of your own so that I know what a "good cover" should sound like. where's your talent? Make some videos and show me how it's done. Please!

  • @jstarks123 You misunderstand, the title implies that Bob Dylan is singing this song, but it´s not. It is just a copy ie cover and a bad one at that compared to Bob´s brilliant original. If I made a video of me singing it your monitor would break, and you´d hang yourself to escape the terrible sound, so don´t beg for what you REALLY don´t want.

  • @bicnarok ...how does the title imply that Bob Dylan is singing? Where in the title does it say Bob Dylan? And I guess you've never hear the cover that the Byrds did of this song, because that's the version I covered. I did not cover Dylan's version of the song, because EVERYONE covers that version. You think it's bad, that's fine, that's your opinion. But there are more than 200 people who favorited this video who would disagree with you.

  • @jstarks123 To be honest I didn´t know you were singing it, I thought it was the birds version uploaded. (guess I should have read the intro) In that case I respect your talent, well done. The title didn´t imply that Dylan was singing it, the combination of title name and picture thumb nail did after I searched for the Dylan version. My initial "crap cover " comment was directed at the birds version, because I actually thought it was them, and after finding numerous covers, I was annoyed.

  • @bicnarok ...cool bro, thanks....and I understand that you're annoyed that you can't find Dylan's originals on here. If you want the original, I can give it to you. Just send me your e-mail

  • @jstarks123 Got it through some torrent, but thanxs. Sorry about the initial outburst, I´m a bit spontanious. Keep up the good work, your soul is obviously in your music. It amazes me that anyone can play the guitar at all after numerous failed attempts.

  • @bicnarok ..cool bro, no worries. If you want any other original Dylan song at any time, just send me a message, and I'll gladly send it to you. thanks for the kind words.

  • Really good.

  • e esta....memórias e homenagens.Até amanhã...
