LOVE the modification! I just made two with a "clicker-pen" spring. I slightly improved on the last part. Instead of polly-fil, I have found a better "wick" material (I have not even seen it on youtube so I may be the FIRST). Try using the bottom piece out of a zippo. Not the cotton stuffing, but the piece you have to flip-up to refill the lighter. It wicks smooth and constant.....and NO fuzzies!

I feel like something has been ignored in this mod, Im sure it really did work out nicely but judging from the mechanics of the atomizer and it's contact with the fluid, could this cause awkward consistency issues when it becomes only half full?

The "secret" I found is this: it is important how much polyester you use and the shape you cut it.

If you use too much, the fluid wets the atomizer slowly, if you use too little you can flood the atomizer easily. You will easily find the right amount after some experiments.

Also, the shape, I find it better to cut it a little longer than the cart and fold it a little over the spring (this shape looks like tooth when you remove it).

@NixonTech2071 not at all a problem as your holding your e cig down so the e liquid is always faceing towards the stuffing to keep it wet !!!! and when u stop vaping face the e cig upwards !!! i think this is a great mod and has made my e cig twice as good !!!

This is pretty ingenious... but is there any potential issues in using the spring from a ballpoint pen for this? As in, the residue from the metals used in pen springs getting into your liquid, and then being inhaled upon vaping? If you smell the spring of any ballpoint pen, it's acrid metallic smell is rather off-putting. I'm not only worried about how it would make the vape taste, but are there any strange health issues that could be attributed to using metal to mod liquid uptake for vaping?

Best cart mod ever and I hate using cartridges. I started using a Vapor King because dripping is so cumbersome at times but I've been using this with my 510 passthrough and it's a damn fog machine.

If you look at the plastic cart (510) you'll notice the air passes through the edges on the outside. When you hit the juice its moving the opposite direction into the atomizer then back down the edges. Without the batting you'd have a mouth full of juice. This works well even without a wick.
