u have to understand how the music and show business industry in the philippines work. covering is an accepted form of entertainment,as much as copying the dancing steps of american dancers,which asians are fond of. however,daily/weekly variety shows of singers in manila require them to sing LIVE! they would run out of pieces if they would just sing their own and will be boring as hell

I'm not too familiar with Regine Velasquez, but i'm definately going to go check out her work. I discovered CoCo Lee while listening to the Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon soundtrack, and DAMN does she have a voice!! I love all of her music, even her non-English songs. And she's so pretty. What's amazing is that she isn't a total stuck up like most other singers are. She acknowledged Regine as a great singer, which is awesome.
