Just a random question...But does _ANYONE_ Know where to get the Spellweaver sword? No luck finding it on my mage yet, found it countless times on my warrior / rogues though
@MrHalo221 I found mine on the body of some mage (yellow name) in the caves during the search for Andraste's ashes, hes the dude in the huge open cavern at the top of some steps on a round platform and appears with a sheild activated.
You know, if you click the gong there, you bug that dragon. the only moves it can use is the wing buffet, and tail whip. When bugged, the dragon can't move at all, and is forced standing away from you (Just a tip to anyone who wants easy loot =P )

Even though rougue is a bit funny to play, you have a lot of dodging stuff and u attack superfast and u can lie teleport and backstab people its awsome :D but i think warriors is most awsome cuz of its general major awsomeness lol xD
but in my opinion the best character + specalization in da:o was an arcane warrior/ blood mage :P i know it's pretty common, but i had my own way to skill... ;DD

well, rogue is interesting as a character, but i just held leliana as bard/ranger, didn't need it as main chara (though i never had leliana with me, always me(human noble warrior), alistair, sten/oghren, and morrigan :D
@Nerinaization ah, i never really gave in too much on all specialization, i kept it simple. my main char was a human noble warrior with Berserker and Reaver specializations and had alistair, my mabari doggy Buster and Wynne :p did a pretty sweet combo :D
i dont think theres arcane warrior in it but it wouldnt surprise me if it did :D

@Zirsquishy woah it's nearly invincible! i mean look, when the dragon bites him e.q. 0:30 usually it's a nearly deadly/ deadly attack, but he loses only half of his life (max.) he doesnt really need to use health potions during the normal gameplay... he's just awesome ;D.. and his attack... ufff..xD
you really missed something w/o arcanewarrior / blood mage ... though it isnt really easy at the beginning .. but afterwards... woah xD!

@Nerinaization it's awsome, truly awsome :D and yeah, in one way or another i actually agree with the skills on dragon age origins. theyre better than in da2 but i still like it, love that new Scythe ability for 2-h i spam it as often as possible lol xD
and i actually think it gets more exciting the further down in the game you come :p

Me, I am doing a BM/AW though I seem to find stamina regeneration item such as the High regard of house Dace, and the battledress of provocateur give 100+, Arduil's Blessing give 4+ mana/stamina regen, plus any of wade drakescale or superior armours will help and chainmail, since all of them also reduce talent/spell activation.
@PlayerVersusPlayer This is an awesome comment. First, yes you absolutely can go by yourself. And here's how you do it: Don't choose anyone else at the party select screen! That's all.
Second, if you think it's hacked, install a fresh copy and make sure it's patch 1.0. Then build an arcane warrior and do it yourself. I guarantee youll have the same results. I wouldnt encourage that if I was hacking.
@PlayerVersusPlayer I should clarify. The ONLY time you cannot go by yourself is when the game forces you to take a character with you, which is usually only done during a very specific story-driven portion of the game involving that character
Well this WAS a good song... Everyone friggin killed it. And when you play through the game a few times these bosses get surprisingly easy xD. (such as soloing the fade including sloth. What was once the hardest boss is now the easiest to me o.o)
@palladiem71 I honestly dont remember =[ It's been so long since I'vep layed, and they've patched the arcane warrior so many times that I dont think the build I used is viable anymore.
But if I remember, I think I just went 1 Con, 2 Mag every level up
@omarag1 They patched arcane warriors a long time ago, that made them weaker. The shimmering shield ability (which is like, the best thing for an arcane warrior) will actually disappear once your mana runs out. In patch 1.0 (before the nerf) you could sustain the buff permanently, even without mana.
If you carry Duncan's sword and shield, the mana regen from those items will counteract the mana drain caused by shimmering shield, meaning the shield won't run out. I actually discovered this whilst fighting the archdemon toe-to-toe for about 10 solid mins.
I solod the High-Dragon with my level 14 blood mage/arcane warrior. I built him up from level 1 specefically for being indestructable. Difficulty was Nightmare, took forever. I had full blood dragon armor, starfang (2h) the belt from the tower, the ring from the denerim mage shop the health one. He never really came close to killing me. With shimmering shield, and all other enhancements, your pretty much indestructable. Btw my favorite fight so far with BM/AW combo. Make one!

@RunePrivateServerTut the spellweaver drops from an arcane warrior that u have to face while u are doing the ashes quest in the temple...u can't miss the fight so if u loot the corpse u get spellweaver

@Jibeker you could use Morrigan (if you have her lol) and use her ice/cold spells such as Winters Grasp and/or Drain Life and other strong spells you may have gotten her, you can use Wynne (idk if i spelled that right lol) and use her as well =3
when ur an arcane warrior, the requirments for armor and weapons change from str to magic, u dont have to be an arcane warrior, u can always add to str, it will be retarded though...
@DarkRageNBR adding STR to your mage instead of Magic is how you build a shape shifter, animal forms are immune to knockdown, grab, get a bounus to STR or DEX, always CON, have high armor penetration, and if your using a staff they never miss, my shape shifter in spider form can attack as fast as a dual wield warrior but deal damage like a two hander, no need for magic tricks.

The one thing I really hate about the Arcane Warriors are that they cannot learn Melee abilites, and when you cast spells you have to sheathe your weapon, if not a staff. But anyways, great game and good vid :P
Not sure what armor hes using but tips for soloing nightmare u should use wades sup dragscale and use blood drags till you have sup scale. also max arcane tree fast and get blood mage at 14 u wannna get crushing prison and force field so max that tree and cone of cold is all u need in ice as well as 2 in the fire 1 in rock (for the armor). If u go blood mage u wanna get like 20-27 con at 14. Also you need 45 magic and if u go blood mage then u should hav 25-32 will power. U also need heal.
I solo'd it too and suffered not one bit of damage. Stand next to the gong (u hav to b mage or ranged) and attack till it mov behind u, then walk around the ridge ur standing on and shoot it from behind there and go back round the ridge and on to it (next to the gong) again and repeat the process.. using this tactic over and over again kills it eventually but takes ages
I have question,... just bought the game, total noob :D Executioners helm is supposed to give plus stamina,... but mage have only mana,... does that puls stamina increasing mana pool of mage?
@Quehn Um, no, it does. The 'Nugcrusher' hammer gives +100 stamina, and increases mana with 100 when used by a mage (usually an Arcane Warrior mage, since speccing enough strength to equip it is a waste). And the 5.75 stamina regeneration of the Cailan's Arms set (shield and sword) regenerates mana in the same manner. Kudos for making an incorrect statement, imbecile.
You seem to be one of the people who listened to me when I talked about the Arcane Warrior. This was when the game first came out, and I solo'd everything, though a bit differently than what you did.
Do you still find, Blood Mage the superior 2nd class spec to Spirit Healer, with the nerfs to Shimmering Shield? Or is the nerf not really that big of a deal. I'm about to start my AW Nightmare playthrough, was just curious how to build him. Thanks.
i know, i have a AW, its my favorite character. He can still throw out some spells (assuming he has a decent willpower)without losing shimmering shield and combat magic, he just has to down a little more lyrium.
I've gone solo with high dragon myself, id show you but its on xbox and i dont have any equipment to record it.

btw if u have a rogue then u can solo easier , all u have to do is stay behind dragon nd back stab its right leg, if the dragon moves then move along with it ..... REMEMBER ALWAYS STAY BEHIND IT

Blood magic is bad. Spirit healer/arcane warrior is more my thing. Besides when you go to heal yourself in bloodmagic its almost impossible.

@DarkRageNBR adding STR to your mage instead of Magic is how you build a shape shifter, animal forms are immune to knockdown, grab, get a bounus to STR or DEX, always CON, have high armor penetration, and if your using a staff they never miss, my shape shifter in spider form can attack as fast as a dual wield warrior but deal damage like a two hander, no need for magic tricks.

The one thing I really hate about the Arcane Warriors are that they cannot learn Melee abilites, and when you cast spells you have to sheathe your weapon, if not a staff. But anyways, great game and good vid :P

Not sure what armor hes using but tips for soloing nightmare u should use wades sup dragscale and use blood drags till you have sup scale. also max arcane tree fast and get blood mage at 14 u wannna get crushing prison and force field so max that tree and cone of cold is all u need in ice as well as 2 in the fire 1 in rock (for the armor). If u go blood mage u wanna get like 20-27 con at 14. Also you need 45 magic and if u go blood mage then u should hav 25-32 will power. U also need heal.

I solo'd it too and suffered not one bit of damage. Stand next to the gong (u hav to b mage or ranged) and attack till it mov behind u, then walk around the ridge ur standing on and shoot it from behind there and go back round the ridge and on to it (next to the gong) again and repeat the process.. using this tactic over and over again kills it eventually but takes ages

As an Arcane Warrior (and maybe for all mages in general, I don't know) anything that gives +stamina will instead be +mana

The 'Nugcrusher' hammer gives +100 stamina, and increases mana with 100 when used by a mage (usually an Arcane Warrior mage, since speccing enough strength to equip it is a waste). And the 5.75 stamina regeneration of the Cailan's Arms set (shield and sword) regenerates mana in the same manner. Kudos for making an incorrect statement, imbecile.

i know, i have a AW, its my favorite character. He can still throw out some spells (assuming he has a decent willpower)without losing shimmering shield and combat magic, he just has to down a little more lyrium.
I've gone solo with high dragon myself, id show you but its on xbox and i dont have any equipment to record it.
