Yeah that argument is over-used really, but, while it all comes down to personal preference, some of Slash's other solos have a lot of soul, effort and just sound intense. But MA and YM to me sound a bit to much like noise, I appreciate playing fast is hard and a skill in its own right, but thats my opinion.

i no hes not the best guitarist in the world, but speed isnt everything. micheal angelo, and yngwie malmsteen r both really fast but dont enuff feel into it. george lynch from dokken isnt fast ,but hes still my favorite guitarist, the breaking the chains solo is amazing, even tho its not fast, because of the amount of feel he puts into it. its not all about speed

I think that Yngwie And MAB are two different guitarist who have a very different style. I mean Shredding is a complete departure from old school rock n' roll. For instance if you hear any of those guys, they are always using exerpts from the romantic and baroque era(Classical Music), and that is completely different than what classic Rock is. Slash can play fast, but shredding is not something is too concern about. The fact that a guitarist doesn't play fast doesn't make it a bad guitarist.

i dunno, its hard to explain...you can just tell. Whenever you see Slash onstage and he lifts his guitar up vertically or when he runs or jumps, thats when he really gets into the music as opposed to just standing there and not getting into the music like Michael Angelo or Buckethead
