There is no law requiring them to wear badge numbers. That is department policy for them to have it or not. As far as holding them accountable, they would have to put thier name on your paperwork when you go to jail.

I know in Cali we've got Penal Code 830.10. Colorado may have a similar law.

As for depending on the arrest report as Stickmgood describes, the problem is that only one officer's ID has to be on an arrest report, and if you got assaulted in this situation there would probably be many officers involved. Sometimes the officer on the arrest report isn't even the main guy who laid hands on you.

Conflict in jurisdiction?Generally speaking in the very simplist terms, geographical boundry is the basis of where the law of a particular jurisdiction is applicable.All I asked was what law applicable to this jusridiction supports his claim. True the US Constitution does apply here, and nowhere in the constitution is Jacobs declaration that the officers must wear a name plate or identifying number stated or remotely implied.Ive not disputed any first ammendment claim, simply asked for the law.
