she needs some hair grease badly...and a deep conditioner! you should blow her hair put sometimes before letting it dry,oh my! beautiful girl, but it looks as if she doesn't enjoy this, lol. nice styles though.
you did a really great jod with this hair style and the wa you braided the hair but in stead of using gel in her hair it would be better if you used some hair grease it would be way better for her hair but great job :)
thank you so very much for this video. I've always been afraid to tackle braiding my daughters hair but I did this and WOW it is beautiful.. THank you Thank you Thank you.
why are u braiding so far from her head???...i know that took forever to do because ur really suppose to be close to the scalp...but hey whateva gets the job done...do ya thing...
Hair looks good. But your technique pulls at the hair alot. If you keep your hands closer to the scalp rather then down toward the ends of the hair it will cause less tension and discomfort for her...I can tell she was in pain...we all were when our mom used to comb our hair...look great though!
You did an AMAZING job!!!! I can cornrow but I always wondered how people did crisscross and have it to look neat. I'm gonna try it. Thanks so much for sharing this!!!

this soooooo smart..i never thought to part out all my sections before i begin..this would cut down on running out of space if I used this method when doing cornrows from the front all the way down the back..i bet it would help me out..because i always end up with not enough room for my last cornrow and have to make the last one a 2-in-1...thanks for the tip.
You did a great job! Everyone cornrows different. At least you are taking care of your daughter's hair, which is more than can be said for a lot of people. So, keep doing what you r doing and ignore the ignorance of others! She has healthy hair which is growing. That is apparent from the pictures of when she was younger.

@molsen4960 - how embarrassing! This was one of my first videos and I made it a few years ago. I remember I didn't even realize I was in my pajamas until after I posted the video! I don't think I made that mistake again :)
i absolutely love the hairstyles you have created for your daughters!....you have inspired me and given me so many new ideas for my 2 year olds hair....and I love that you have taken the time to show this and give your girls beautiful hairstyles....Great job, wish more mothers, no matter what their race, would take the time to make their little one's look as great as you are doing:)
@brfrance86 - I have had trouble with her edges - the front hair line and around the ears. I think I have found a good system that has really helped with that problem. I plan on discussing this on my new website as soon as it is up and running so make sure you subscribe so you will know when the site is launched!
Do you have tutorials where you show how you part the hair? I cannot seem to make a straight part no matter what I do. Also, do you blow dry the hair prior to braiding or do you just do when it's damp?
@Banksparty4 - I never blow dry the hair, I always braid it damp. If it starts to dry while I am working with it, then I spray the section I am working with. I don't have a tutorial specifically about parting. I am not sure that is something that can be demonstrated. Sometimes my parts end up WAY off too! But usually I work, and work, and work at them till they are straight. I am a perfectionist. UGH!
She hooked her baby up, it doesn't matter what color she is or where she came from, it looks real good, and it's plenty of black women or girls who don't even know how to braid this good yet.....I was one of them. I didn't learn to braid till I was 20 yrs. old. Thanks for the video.
Im a black female and I cant cornrow to save my life! I love the way you did it, it looks very simple and I will be trying this... now I just need someone to try it on! I will be checking out your other vids!!!
i'm white and mexican , i wear cornrows that usually fit my face.. i think it depends on your shape of face too. i usually have it cornrows halfway or just on the sides ..because all the way back wouldnt look right on me
you may not look nice with corn rows but maybe microbraids or box braid may look nice on you or twists, you cant be scared thats like in life never know till you try, white american people wear braids sometimes, and im an african american tellin you this try it and you may get more complements than you can handle lol
I like all your videos. The light is just right, the angles are good. I watch some videos and be like its too dark or feel like i still cant do what i jus saw because it was not explained properly. Your vids are on point. Keep'em coming!!
Do you knit? I ask because you said stitches, I knit as well! Perhaps that's why you're so good at hair! The same basic coordination is needed to braid as to knit. It's repetitive and follows a particular pattern.
the way you cornrow the young child's hair is interesting. It's like your hands are a lil too far from her scalp. The braid looks good thou. glad you learned how to do african hair, because some casians are just dazed and confused. I hope you put some type of moisturizer on her hair. our hair can be a bit dry.
I think she's got that all down. Btw speaking as a black woman I think we black women are dazed and confused about our childrens hair, not to mention are own!!!
@Katelynylyn WOW YOUR DAUGHTERS ARE SO LUCKY TO HAVE YOU AS THEIR MOTHER. IT'S NICE TO SEE THAT YOU TOOK THE TIME TO LEARN AND PERFECT HAIR TECHNIQUES! I'M ALWAYS UPSET WHEN I SEE ZAHARA JOLIE'S HAIR! ME BEING A BLACK CHILD AND HAVING A BLACK MOTHER MY HAIR WAS NEVER SO WELL KEPT! YOU AND YOUR CHILDREN ARE BEAUTIFUL BLESSINGS TO ALL OF YOU :-)
You're right. I think if you love your child enough, nothing is really going to stop you from trying to make them, especially little girls look presentable. Yeah Angelina I'm talking about you.
yo go girl!...me as a stylist I do it differently but comes out the same. I was surprised to see that the braider was caucasian but was wowed and happy!! Glad that you can do it! I have had some white parents with "mixed" children or whatever the case and couldn't do their hair. But nothing is not hard if you out forth some effort.
ur techniques are so neat and beautiful! Your daughter is very blessed to have you. im sure her hair is always looking good. I wish i could braid like that ^_^. Im still learning. Your vids really help.
girl dont worry about the haters i dont care if you white or black yellow or green cuz even though your technique is different you can braid that girls hair damn do you do weaves lol
your braiding style is intresting but i think you are making it more difficult for yourself. its easier-in my opinion- if you cornrow with your hands on the scalp. (it might be less painful for kids) but your style is coming out very nicely.
you can really braid thanks so much for the video I learned how to conrow my hair and do so much styles cause of you, it took me two hours to finally get the hang of it!!!! and im 13! your the best!!! keep uploading vids!
I am a white woman, i have 2 children whom their father is black african. Their hair is as afro as their dads. My sons hair is not long enough 2 plait yet but my daughter is 6 & ive been doing her hair this way since she was 18 months old. I do just as good a job as any good black person can & im very glad 2 have been blessed with this talent. When people ask me "who does your daughters hair"? & i say "me" they never believe me. So its not all about colour, its about people & what they can do.
You are right Davis337, it doesn't matter at all, but you see, this wonderful woman has done more of these video's right and in one of them she stated that she adopted her, together with another girl, so indeed they are adopted, for she said it herself. But it doesn't matter...just love the way she does those kids hair, cos we know that most african/american hair can be difficult to maintain, but she is doing so incredible well, so well done mom!!
how do you know she's adopted.Don't assume things like that.Maybe she's her step daughter.Or maybe she is her daughter and she's just dakr skinned. What does it matter? She's a white woman who braids a black childs hair.Whats the problem?
I agree with you DATRUTH2024. But I must say I admire this white women doing this little black girls's hair. Her hair is definately natural and I know a whole lot of BLACK women who would be quick to throw a relaxer in this childs hair it she was there. GO HEAD GIRL KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK GOD BLESS
Omg she braid like she have a disability, but she got the job done. That is very complicated the way she started that braid off. And a experienced braider would never start a cornrow off that way because it will leave hair out, especially if the person hair is shorter . When braiding hair you don't have to make a part across the front section of the hair then start braiding it then start grabbing hair like that. When braiding hair, you use you pointer fingers your thumbs and your middle fingers.
omg shut the fuck up this woman did a great job! doesn't matter how she started off the cornrows but how nice it looks when she was over....people always have something to say either if u do it right or not! i'm pretty sure that if this lady wasn't taking care of this girl's hair u would've said something negative in that case too....u are just jealous u prob dunno how to do it and if u do it oh well good for u!!! everybody got their own way to braid! people like u get on my last nerve!!!!!
She's very good, very neat and proud of what she's doing. I learn a lot by watching her videos, Continue with the good job and helping others to learn .Congratulations. Nidia
guys who is hatin on dis gurl u need to shut up shes doing her best she can take care of her own kids herself shes only one person!! if u have something mean to say then keep it to yourself OR DONT WATCH THIS VIDEO!!!
i did the braids how u did in my sons hair (he picked the style), but I braid from the other way------ right=top, bottom=left, it came out sooo good, & much tighter...........thanx 4 the post..........
This was very informational, thanx! I tried it on my daughter's bottom-length red hair and it looked good but not as good as your daughter. Euro hair is harder to do - it doesn't want to bunch together like Afro hair and if you leave a braid untied it unravels, but nonetheless I tried it for my daughters school disco and she got good comments!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I saw you put some kind of coconut oil on that lil girls hair and that was great!! There hair needs lots of oil because black hair tends to dry out alot..! dont forget to take them to get a trim!! What made you adopt black kids anyway? What if a black woman adopted a white little girl..just want to know how you feel about that?
Why does color HAVE to be brought up in almost EVERY video response on YouTube??? Most people (atleast I hope) don't or should not care about color/facial features when adopting. Many just want kids to give love/care to and vice versa.
What do you think the alternative is? There aren't enough black families to adopt all the children in the foster care system. Most people (black, white, or any race) want their own biological kids.
If white people don't adopt, black children will get shuffled from foster home to foster home. Hell, most foster parents are white too. Is that any better?
Anyway, wouldn't it be racist for white people to refuse to adopt black children because of their race?

Let me tell you the proper way to take care of little black girl hair..you must put oil or grease on the ends of her hair to keep it from drying out and breaking off..Black peoples hair is not like white peoples hair..got it
loove the little girl... she just sits there without fussing! hell my mom would have provided me with so much candy by now to sit still. great job Mommy
I am afircan american and i have been braiding hair from a very young age and i am just amzaed and the care and patient you have in handle such a unique type of hair and as for the ppl said the kids sit there to quiet that how my daughter sit quietly it doesnt have bad experince .
I love your video I have been braiding for years and there was somethign very out of the ordinary about your rowing technique I notice your hands and fingers are not at the scalp as u row but at the middle of the hair at first I was like theses braids are gonna be weird but they were perfect and kudos to you for adopting it is
something I have longed to do but too expensive for me right now. Thanks for the video
She adopted two little girls. I think she is doing a great job :o) Some Caucasian people are lost as to doing our type of hair. I am glad she took time to learn and care about her daughter's hair. :o)
I've really never seen any child that sits happy while getting their hair done, not even mines, so that's just how it is. Not that she's sad or anything, but that's just the way it is normally!!
i do not know what everyone is gripping over. you can tell she has the sniffles. keep up the good work. you are the first i subscribed to i love the looks and cant wait to try them out on my friends girls if i could only get them to sit still. LOL
I am sorry that she looks sad to you. I assure you she is a VERY happy and normally noisy girl. If I didn't ask her to please sit quietly while I tape she would be singing and babbling the whole time and you wouldn't be able to hear anything that I am say. Which would defeat the purpose of the instructional video. I don't know why she is SO serious when I ask her to sit quiet, I guess it is just one way or the other with her :)
Ignore all of the negative comments ..... You are the bomb. I can't even braid as good as you. You keep her hair so cute all of the time.... Your videos are # 1 on my list.
wow your awsome! I wish my mom took the time to learn how to braid like you! it just shows that it doesnt matter what color you are, braiding is a SKILL that can be taught to anyone! my mom is white btw and all she knows how to braid is french braid lol but this video helped me cause i can now cane row my own hair =)
wow. OMg. you do better than I do at that texture type, your model, and it is so sad to me, because i'm learning to take care of my natural hair. sad. so sad. Great work, thank you for giving me something different to learn.
Thank you again, I did this to my in laws foster child's hair and she loves it! my first attempt at corn rows much less criss crossed ones :) I will video response with a picture slide show as soon as I get the pictures off my camera :) I don't think I did too bad being my first attempt at even cornrows :) Of course they are far from beautiful as your work, but again its my first shot at this lol...so thanks again. :)
Great job, I thought I was braiding my daughters hair into nice styles but you have given me so many ideas, thanks for thanking the time to do so...if you have any other ideas please share!!!!
Thank you great job! I did this to my sons hair and got so many compliments!

your braiding style is intresting but i think you are making it more difficult for yourself. its easier-in my opinion- if you cornrow with your hands on the scalp. (it might be less painful for kids) but your style is coming out very nicely.
AfrikaKween13 2 years ago 2
you can really braid thanks so much for the video I learned how to conrow my hair and do so much styles cause of you, it took me two hours to finally get the hang of it!!!! and im 13! your the best!!! keep uploading vids!

doin hair is all about talent- not colour! so stupid! its like saying a black person cant play a piano or something!
all it takes is practise- it doesnt matter what fingers u use- the results r all u need.

But it doesn't matter...just love the way she does those kids hair, cos we know that most african/american hair can be difficult to maintain, but she is doing so incredible well, so well done mom!!
kenbrid 2 years ago
how do you know she's adopted.Don't assume things like that.Maybe she's her step daughter.Or maybe she is her daughter and she's just dakr skinned. What does it matter? She's a white woman who braids a black childs hair.Whats the problem?
Davis337 2 years ago 5
you cornrow weird! But still do a good job.

When braiding hair, you use you pointer fingers your thumbs and your middle fingers.
latasha747 2 years ago
omg shut the fuck up this woman did a great job! doesn't matter how she started off the cornrows but how nice it looks when she was over....people always have something to say either if u do it right or not! i'm pretty sure that if this lady wasn't taking care of this girl's hair u would've said something negative in that case too....u are just jealous u prob dunno how to do it and if u do it oh well good for u!!! everybody got their own way to braid! people like u get on my last nerve!!!!!

How did you learn how to do this? It looks very hard.
Coffeeholic82 2 years ago
i did the braids how u did in my sons hair (he picked the style), but I braid from the other way------ right=top, bottom=left, it came out sooo good, & much tighter...........thanx 4 the post..........

I saw you put some kind of coconut oil on that lil girls hair and that was great!! There hair needs lots of oil because black hair tends to dry out alot..! dont forget to take them to get a trim!! What made you adopt black kids anyway? What if a black woman adopted a white little girl..just want to know how you feel about that?
quetathemodel 2 years ago
Why does color HAVE to be brought up in almost EVERY video response on YouTube??? Most people (atleast I hope) don't or should not care about color/facial features when adopting. Many just want kids to give love/care to and vice versa.
DaTruth2024 2 years ago 5
What do you think the alternative is? There aren't enough black families to adopt all the children in the foster care system. Most people (black, white, or any race) want their own biological kids.
If white people don't adopt, black children will get shuffled from foster home to foster home. Hell, most foster parents are white too. Is that any better?
Anyway, wouldn't it be racist for white people to refuse to adopt black children because of their race?

Let me tell you the proper way to take care of little black girl hair..you must put oil or grease on the ends of her hair to keep it from drying out and breaking off..Black peoples hair is not like white peoples hair..got it
quetathemodel 2 years ago
I am very aware that black hair is different from white hair. I have never used grease on my kids, and they all have very healthy hair. Thanks

Not that she's sad or anything, but that's just the way it is normally!!

thats cute, but could you PLEASE let the little girl talk or smile @ the camera or something, she looks SO sad!
chocolatbuny 2 years ago
I am sorry that she looks sad to you. I assure you she is a VERY happy and normally noisy girl. If I didn't ask her to please sit quietly while I tape she would be singing and babbling the whole time and you wouldn't be able to hear anything that I am say. Which would defeat the purpose of the instructional video. I don't know why she is SO serious when I ask her to sit quiet, I guess it is just one way or the other with her :)

wow. OMg. you do better than I do at that texture type, your model, and it is so sad to me, because i'm learning to take care of my natural hair. sad. so sad. Great work, thank you for giving me something different to learn.

use hair grease on the lil one hair not gel cuz it could eventually break her hair or give her flakes..grease will do the same thing u dont need gel
