  • here in the uk we still use several words to describe things that originate or are taken from either the american civil war and the alamo, during the duration of a football,(soccer) match, if one team is under severe pressure and is defending for their lives, we say,IT WAS LIKE THE ALAMO, ok that may be a useless bit of info, but the thought that the saying exists about a battle 176 yrs ago in a country 3000 miles away but is a term still used in our national sport, fascinates me.

  • Anyone going to San Antonio, please see the Book of Remembrance, worth a visit.

  • did the guy from inglorious basterds copy this?

  • The Son's of Texas will never forget The Son's of Tennessee.

    God Bless the Tennessee Volunteers.

  • For some reason, I think of Skyrim when I hear this song. Makes me think, in a weird way I guess.

  • Great music! Thanks for sharing!

  • katfish and chips salt vinegar and?

  • I wonder why Tarantino chose this as the theme for "Inglorious Basterds"

  • @misyespitelk

Taranto is a pimp, all his films have a soundtrack of other films, "the green leaves of summer" is one such case we have to thank Dimitri Tiomkin not tarantino because in today's music so it makes no more

  • makes one feel really good.

  • I on my way to catch a train in Union Square in New York City, when a heard a lone guitar player playing this song! I could not remember where I had heard it...but kept seeing a 1960's western in my minds eye. It took me an hour of searching to find it. The theme from The Alamo. What a wonderful song that is so haunting!! I just couldn't get it out of my head.

Excelente interpretación! me gusta! dedito verde arriba!

  • The song gives me the goose-bumps. I always think of the heroism of the men who were martyred at the Alamo. Their blood, paved the way for the victory at San Jacinto, when Texas independence was won. (The music/lyrics of this song, are written by Dimitri Tiomkin), the vocals on this version were recorded by the choir of the University of Texas, for the film.

  • @cemab4y I was led to believe that Texas was grabbed from Mexico anyway. If you take something from its rightful owners then you can expect to fight and even be killed by those who don;t want to see it go.

  • @TZEITEL10 And when people want independence from their "rightful rulers" it's another matter altogether, the people of Texas had various reasons for wanting independence from Mexico not statehood under the same, and even the Tejano population of Bexar were not that fond of Santa Anna the self styled "Napoleon of the West" after what he did to his own people in the state of Zacatecas when he turned his troops on them for two days of murder looting and rape when they challenged his rule.

  • @cha5 bla bla bla bla, enjoy the music

  • @TZEITEL10 When a dictator does something like throw out the 1824 constitution and goes out of his way to abuse his power as Santa Anna did, revolution is an inevitable consequence.

  • Great Film... i cry when watch this film and listen this song :'(

  • This song always makes me happy and sad at the same time. Regardless,..IT'S A BEAUTIFUL AND GREAT SONG!!!

This is the finest ballad I have ever heard from a war movie. really moving. here, sung by a choir sounds wonderful.

  • This song says it all, really. I wish I was back in 1960. I was 9.

Custer? Quem disse a frase: o único índio bom, é um índio morto?

  • @ussmissouri63

I agree. Someone once said “Tears are words the heart can't express”

  • In memory of those who fought for our freedom..........

  • Preciosa!!

  • Ladrões das terras mexicanas.
