What's wrong with maintaining your culture while living in another country? That's a good thing... You don't need to change like that. You should have respect for your roots...

  • I dated an Indian-American women, and I loved her, but she secretly hated herself because she wasn't white. I'm not white either, so she sub-consciously destroyed out relationship out of confusion by cheating with a random white guy. I left her. She tried getting me back, but I had to let her go.

Indian-Americans are lost and confused. They all want to be white, and most of them hate themselves.

  • @11mac11s that's so true. it's sad

  • @11mac11s

This is SO TRUE... The western obsession amongst Indians is disgusting and is a reflection of their inferiority complex...I don't get it because their culture is awesome and their history is ever greater! Look at most of the bollywood movies these days that are so blatantly westernized! And this fair skin obsession...WTF!?!?

  • Mate, if u got troubles wid america thn go bak to india, if u got wid india thn stay where u r in states nd if u cant resist bof of'em thn all ma habibi's com over to australia. But the thing is y u guys spitting in d same plate u eating(america) nd who u think u r to insult ur parents in frnt of random internet freaks. I heard frm lot of grls nd boys of indian or pakistani or bangla origin saying dere mum a bitch or father a pathatic dog nd shit wen dey wid frnds. I mean why coz dey raised u f

  • @kritikalmass3 yes and America isnt a good country....yall found it by accident, drove off the natives that werent massacred, brought over African slaves and made life hell for their descendents. Not to mention ya fucked with the Chinese when they built ya railroads and imprisoned the Japanese during WW2. SO YES WE INDIANS R HERE TO TAKE YA DOUGH ND REVERSE THE RESULTS OF THE LAST 500 OR SO YEARS. and i hope that for every word i write another Mexican hops over to this side.

  • I meant "I" not "O"

  • O notice that Indian Americans tend to segregate from other races.

  • @rudge1982 prolly in ur neighborhood man but not mine...

  • Interesting comments. I am an ABCD (Anything But Confused Desi) So you hear about Irish-Americans, Italian-Americans, Greek-Americans, Armenian-Americans etc. They all feel American and America has accepted them. This applies to Indians. If you are born and raised here, there isn't much discrimination on everyday level. People accept you as American. AMerica is diverse. There are different flavors of Americans but Americans they are nonetheless.

  • Most second generation haven't struck a balance between both cultures. I have visited India 15 times since I was born. I have worked there. I do not view India through the eyes of my parents and what they tell me. I make my own observations. That is the first step. But each time I go to India I realize how American I am. The thing that makes me Indian-American is that I can systematically analyze both cultures objectively and pick and choose traits of each I like; therefore, I synergize.

  • i like turtles

  • @harjkat

I am over myself and BTW, what was so judgemental in my comment ? I only called a spade a spade and nothing else. Can you disprove even one point ? WHy even mention the "caste system" FYI - Even urban Indians do not believe in it anymore. I have however seen a LOT of ABCDs dissing the poor guys from Andhra or Panjab who didn't really have the "de-facto" standard of verbal english without realising for once that english isint really that poor guy's first language.

  • YOU guys WONT ever understand what being an Indian is.To mainstream America, you're not exactly "American" and to the Indians, you are not Indian. Probably this is why you never hear of terms like Irish-American or German American or Hungarian -merican and so on and so forth...

No wonder you guys are called ABCD.. .

'nuff said, now make up that wierd Indian FOB accent (which apparently even Indians don't use) and poke fun at the next indian student that you see at the university. LOSERS.!!

  • @sasharma821 dude, the accent is real. the guy next to me has it! lol

  • kool book and indians are so miss understood in so many places i the world even feared!!!!!!

  • my parents are totally cool and aren't close-minded or oppressive at all...they are perfectly fine with all my life choices...I'm going to wind up being a teacher.

  • I'll tell you. It was fucking horrible growing up with Indian parents in North America. Rigid unthinking people who did what they have always done because they have always done it. And when asked to think about it, they dismiss you. That is what angers me the most. The way children are dismissed, what they say, what they want, they are treated like a pet or a doll. At least that's how I felt. Maybe it's just Bengalis from Calcutta. In my travels I have found them particularly backwards.

  • @cdn4ever1 stop complaining......

  • @AkkiSantana Don't tell me to stop complaining. I was expressing my feelings based on my experience and my travels. If you are Bengali and feel offended that's too bad. Post an argument or thoughtful opinion if you disagree with me but to respond with an insulting comment says more about the type of person you are and if you are Indian/Bengali...you simply prove my point!

  • hi yoda...nice presentation!!!

  • American-Indians are like the zombies. They cannot adopt to a culture fully so they stay somewhere in between living an introverted life painted grey till death.

  • @ace41r dont give us that crap, indians in india have become evern worse, you guys are pathetic to have sold out so quickly and become as liberal as you have become.

  • My question to you is: What do you know about indian culture?

  • Indians are not indians when they are born in America. Like me.

My parents are Indian, I am American.

  • you should adjust your video's timing a bit....

  • God bless America

  • i totally agree, I have the same experience

  • someone needs to start AA meetings but for children of indian parents so we can all share our mutual problems..

  • marriage is having a nice meaning in india..

arranged marriage doesn't mean that parents show you a photo and you "should accept " her..they select girls from good family background and assures that they live happily for their lifetime (not giving divorce today and date someone tomorrow and day after tomorrow divorce...)

many foreign people marrying according to hindu tradition (you guys obviously say F*** but truth is truth)

  • my life is not indian, but is pretty close, im from bangladesh wihich is basically a bengali speaking version of india....

my life is pretty close to a prison, and hearing that everyone else's is like mine does make me feel better

  • @smartSorna

Yeah there are lot of south asians like you around these days that love licking western arse

  • i agree with u.... im a indian american but have parents that live in the 1940's in indian time and hence the reason y i always felt over whelmed with being indian at home and american outside.... it is hard but not it made me a smarter person and help the next generation growing up in america.... if u werent raised in america u will not understand at all...1

  • america is widely accepting of all cultures; it is what america is all about. we have all kinds of races in this country. everyone here's ancestors were immigrants at some point except the native americans. interacial marriages are common here. i am a product of an interacial marriage & my children will be also. my boyfriend is an indian and we are very accepting of eachother's cultures. i love learning and experiencing new cultures ;) ... and indian food is great btw! :)

  • I am from India, i will give you a solution. India is a hell, Indians are racist. You have a great opportunity to be away from all this. Be an American, you will be way happier.

  • So when you say indian american do you mean actual indian or native?

  • American Indian = Amerindian = Native American.

Indian American = Americans of Indian (South Asian) descent.

  • Ah I see. I'm from England so I dont really know American classifications.

  • I bothers me a lot too.. M 21 yrs old and its one of the only things that make me cry.. not knowing who I am.. One of the few things that can get to my head.. When some ignorant white kid says somethin and i cant beat the shit outta him/her cuz i don wanna go to jail.. American born Indian kids have too much of an ego problem and gossip like no other.. Indian Kids are a lot better.. U just gotta be cool with them and they would do anything for u..

  • just fuse the too. i mean some indian values are really retarded, like arranged marriage and crap, but i still think a lot of the indian culture is fantastic. like the food, clothes etc. and u can still be american, along with that. i manage to do this everyday!

  • There's nothing "retarded" about an arranged marriage. Arranged does not necessarily mean forced.

If marriages are forced on somebody, that's one thing .. but marriages arranged with the will of the boy/girl in question is just a social convention.

  • @ipfcsnobs Well, it is "retarded" to continue this tradition in a new country and not take into mind the traditions of it.

  • @ipfcsnobs ....common .....arranged marriage also sometimes mean that when the shy indian boy or a girl cant find a life sut

itable life partner on their own(owing to their preferences)......the parents just help them out to find a suitable , trustworthy partner whose family background they know very well.......not at all indian arranged marriaged are forced.....my parents r also looking for me a suitable life partner.....and of course with my consent

  • @ipfcsnobs With all due respect, I don't agree with arranged marriages because I think that we as people are capable of finding and choosing the one we love rather than having our parents choose for us. It kind of undermines the idea of finding love when your love is chosen for you, and how is it supposed to succeed if you don't even know the person to be right for you?

  • @ipfcsnobs

I agree and obviously it's working pretty good since the divorce rate in India is pretty much nonexistent...It's a normal way of life and nobody is complaining... Yeah love marraiges also happen but their is nothing wrong with arranged marraiges

  • nikki ur a fool. i love arranged marriage.if u dont like it shut the hell up.people like u will never understand the true meaning for arranged marrige. anil REDDY

  • no, ur the fool, u should respect everyones opinions. this is a spot to put ur comments, whatever they may be, and if u disagree with mine, fine. i dont care. but don't be rude. and i don't know why u would exactly love arranged marriage. there is nothing to love about it. unless, of course, ur the parent advising on this marriage.

  • lol now you are really a fool,u say u should respect everyones opinions, what did u say, some indian values are really retarded and tht too for arranged marriage, you even dared and mis behaved to such an extent and called it crap.how dare you.and u call me rude, double standards.ignorant ppl like u dont know anything about arranged marriage. so pls dont talk about it.there is so much to love about arranged marriage. anil REDDY.

  • my fucking opinion is that arranged marriage is retarded ok? and u only love it because ur probably one of those stupid indian guys who are too geeky and social akward to even talk to a girl properly. therefore u need mummy to help u. and even then, im sure ur having trouble finding someone. so don't tell me u know anything about marriage, because you don't even know one thing about girls.

  • lol pity you. take care.

  • curry muncha

  • ABCD AMerican Born Confused Desi

  • amazing!! i type "Indian" in the search box and actually got Real Indians! .......usually i get Natives over here who keep calling themselves Indians!, when most of them never even heard of Ganesha!! please tell the Kiowas and Lakotas and Mohawks that they are not Indians!! its all because that twit Columbus landed here in 1492 and thought he was in Gujurat! and he called the non-Indian population Indians! alot of stupid whites think that Lakota, Cheyenne, etc, are Indians too!

  • haha!

    Soo true x)

  • the problem is that indian culture is very diferent than american culture....ot

  • why is it a problem.

  • what i meant was that the indian culture should get more into the american culture...............while keeping their great culture.........

  • While you probably need to act more deferential to your elder family members, just relax when you are amongst non-hyphenated Americans. We like you and we accept you as a peer.

  • Please contact me. I wanted to order your book but the site says I need Kindle. I can't buy Kindle, too costly. Is there another way I can get it by e-book via internet? Thanks

  • The problem is, much of India has urbanized and moved on, except for the so called 1st generation Indians in the United States, they are stuck in a time wrap. If you had returned to India, you would find most modern Indian youth behave, and think very differently. Your future lies n the United States, therefore learn to assimiliate, and accept the good values that your new nation has given you.

  • @pinoypusa I agree with you!! The modern India is far far liberal than the Indain america

  • @urrja yes it is, and its fucking disgusting. Its a shame that india has become as liberalized as it has...

  • @pinoypusa No the future isn't in the US. The great depression is going to hit the US and be worse than the Great Depression. A hyperinflationary holocaust is coming!

  • @pinoypusa fuck that...american culture is fucked up in the end of the day..
