Just Google SUPER and choose the first link. It can convert every, yes every, media file type and it's FREE. Works far better than MediaCoder and I have used MediaCoder also until I found SUPER.

Why not just use FFDShow and enable any video through Virtualdub directly without conversion? Also for .mov you might want quicktime vdplugin.
