I think I changed schools about every two years or so growing up, and I was almost always quite pleased when I did because it generally signified at least a few months of anonymity.

When I was growing up weird people would approach me and declare a desire to fight me, then they'd attack me. It was fucking annoying.

If anything, the girls already established in the school size you up and scrutinize you as either a potential threat to their status and popularity, or as a target for insults and abuse. Boys are more friendly towards and transparent with one another, and have the camaradarie of the buddy system. Girls intensely compete against one another. Apparently this is news to you.
