  • @echoes1234567891 thats unfortunate, im sure they both feel bad about the whole thing

  • who in the hell dislikes this?!?!?!? Probably that troll on RWJ

  • Ragtime meet Mr.Anderson, they had a baby and named it the blues.

  • goddamit people, could you stop mentioning Pink Floyd?? I worship that band like you guys wouldn't imagine, but these are other musicians.. respect their individuality a bit as well

  • @MasterJuancho very true, im a die hard floydian, but theres other types of music, somes i like, somes i dont like, they are all individuals like Floyd

  • Chillun lost they lives,

  • If you've never seen the liner notes for the Blind Boy Fuller album, then you might be interested to know there was a 50-50 chance that the band could have been called Curly Fred.

  • Who cares about specific facts?

    Is this Blues? Yes.

Does it sound good? Hell yes.

    Nuff said.

  • it's amazing how many of these comments are just plain weirdly wrong... of course I do remember being 12, too... it's interesting to note how many FAMOUS bluesmen had NO PICTURES at all of them... Pinetop Perkins had a million selling single in the 20's and there are no pics of him at all! There are only TWO known pics of Robert Johnson, etc... crazy!

  • @SEANFIR You're probably talking about Pinetop Smith? Pinetop Perkins is still alive, afaik. and he has been photographed numerous times, obviously.

  • This was music in the making. Not trying to write a single by pressure of the record company.Just a guitar and words that come to mind.Robert Johnson, Leadbelly Elmore James, Pink Anderson, Guitar Slim and all of you great ppl.THANK YOU...

  • my god, he is ugly, an beautiful in the same time

  • @zoivanmo

For crying out loud, he is an old man in that pic. I'm not saying he was handsome, but most of us get uglier as we get older. It will probably happen to you, too !

  • @psychkoala -Reckon mature music taste cares little what artists look like- But during our phase of adolescent tastes in music- --which some never outgrow incidentally-- -then image can play too much of a part and often obscures how shite they tend to be- Ugly people can make beautiful music- Beautiful people can make ugly music- But my feeling is- good music- not image- is what counts- with notable exceptions like Sinatra- or Deano- who's images were accomplishments in themselves

  • @psychkoala I hope you ll get younger and younger...cause in your case there is no old saying...With Years You Are Getting Smarter And Smarter...maybe that would help you...and if you ain t got no any sense of humor...I said ANY... get laid...do something....and btw If You are ugly...you ll stay ugly for a whole life...if you are natural

  • @zoivanmo Just drink another glass of plum brandy and go back to bed. Your confusion will pass with time.

  • What a genius!

  • who did the original song based on this melody?

  • Isn't it great how people hold constructive discussions about this brilliant piece of blues music!... Oh shit, actually they don't do they, they just argue about Pink Floyd. Oh well.

  • Pink Anderson is my hero!

  • Thank you for shareig

  • really cool song, I like the rhythm a lot. Pinks son still plays blues in the trailer park....rock on brotha

  • class!

  • Ladies and gentleman, meet the man whose name was used as the first half of the supergroup "Pink Floyd."

And, no, I am not joking here.

btw...the second half was another Georgia bluesman named Floyd Council.

  • @PinkOld floyd was from NC

  • @bostonteabagger71739

    Wouldn't surprise me a bit.

Most of the biographies on Pink Floyd have multiple errors.

  • Sounds a bit like an old white guy playing mountain music

  • @keltyk

Well, it shouldn't surprise anyone a bit that bluegrass influenced blues, just as blues influenced bluegrass.

Take a listen to Doc Boggs some time, to hear quite a bit of the influence going the other direction.

  • @PinkOld -Exactly right I reckon- Love Doc Boggs-

  • By the way, this one's Pink...

  • haha good one

  • :o)

  • @Satyric8 sorry to correct but. Pink is the house that The Band recorded in (music from big pink), pink anderson is deffinatly the influence for the the band name (pink floyd) but that lyric (the band is just fantastic that is really what I think, oh by the way which ones pink?) refers to The Band & Big Pink, a house seated on the catskill mountains in Saugerties, Woodstock NY. not hatin' just sayin.

  • @MAhee Sorry, that lyric in context is obvious. The A&R guy in "Welcome to the Machine" makes the mistake of asking "Which one (of you)'s Pink?" when signing the band. Doesn't take a lot of figuring out.

  • @Satyric8 You you sanctimonious asshole!

  • @Satyric8 lmao thats an awesome comment!

  • tokyohalogen, shutup fuck u,

  • fuck pink floyd! this shits way better

  • Pink Floyd

  • oh hell yeah!

  • thats music right there

  • uh?

  • Tiny Tim?

  • Inspirational.

  • this guy gave pink floyd there name

  • When The Tea Set found themselves on the same bill as another band with the same name, Barrett came up with the alternative name The Pink Floyd Sound, after two Piedmont blues musicians, Pink Anderson and Floyd Council, two names he'd seen on the notes of a Blind Boy Fuller album...

Next time you sound like a pompous jackass try an be right

  • i stand by my post. so fuck off.

  • Go ahead and stand by your post you fucking moron. RibcageSaw is correct and you are a pillow biting faggot. Go suck your mothers dick you fuck twat!!

  • So you are sucking his homo cock =)

    *my english is bad

  • Mmm well infact I think his cock is straight

  • you take that back david gilmour is god

  • Takes one to know one, penis breath.

  • shut up. pink anderson and pink floyd aren't the same fucking thing.

  • that aint what i said crakky

  • thank u, finally someone who nos wut there talking about.....

  • gilmour had nothing to do with the band untill syd wasnt able too, u no wen they needed a guitarist and singer..

  • Gilmour wasn't head singer until like the 80s.

But this is true, he had nothing to do with Pink Floyd at that time...except the fact he taught syd how to play guitar.

  • I never said he was head singer, i just said he took over after syd left, roger and and david sang pretty much equally.

And where did hear that help taught him, ive never heard that before, im not callin u a liar, iv just never heard that piece of information, and it would be cool to hear more about that.

  • It was in some pink floyd documentary, Gilmour and Rogers both said Syd was taught how to play by Gilmour, if you look at them play they do have a lot in common...how they both use random objects to play music and chord progressions and what not.

  • You wouldn't make a decent cumstain on Gilmour's mattress.

  • Then, you stand by being an arrogant and INCREDIBLY wrong doofus.

But, hey, keep on waving that flag of ignorance high, and just keep on acting the part of a major asshat.

  • @RibcageSaw - Hey Mr. Know it all, go fuck yourself, you're some nerd that picks apart comments, I wish you were dead.

  • Bunk

Syd came up with it on the spur of the moment, since they were about to perform on the same bill with a band of the same, the T-Set at the time.

They originally called themselves "The Pink Floyd Sound."

    Then, "The Pink Floyd."

Finally, they discarded the definitive article, simply becoming "Pink Floyd."

  • It's was actually The Tea Set but ya good explanation :D

  • it sounds like a mix between gospel and ragtime

  • It's called blues...

  • it´s a great honor being able to hear this man playing the guitar and singing

  • Thank you for posting this!

  • wow

  • pink anderson - blues king.

  • Pink Anderson obrigado por tudo.

  • I met this guys son the other day! awesome! Just as good as his dad!
