@thewhitekid100 Avatar was OK but not revolutionary. Not to say District 9 is but Avatar was all about its visuals. Avatars story was somewhat mediocre and nowhere near as original then District 9.

in the beginning of the movie, you see the aliens in bad shape, they were sick and hungry. it is possible that once in the district, with no possibilty to return on the ship, the most of them had forget how to handle it or lost hope.

The aliens are sort of a hive mind/insect race hierarchy thing. Their leaders died, and it is possible that a lot of the Prawns thinking ability died with them.

It's a good question. Having that level of centralization where one single person can control a 120,000+ ton starship as long as they lock themselves in a command module doesn't strike me as wise engineering. Having "central computers" that one villain could get ahold of and leave the crew of the Enterprise fucked over was what make The Next Generation so frustratingly stupid. Maybe it's an auxiliary command unit? Maybe the main systems on the ship were destroyed with the leaders?

Well, you'd have to remember that these aren't humans. They probably have a hive mentality...To them, having a central terminal of some kind would make perfect sense.
