this is old.... these clips were considered the best, now hitting a spine is shit, you need too hit a 180 misty flip too be considered good, standards are too high now.
Epic film, man. This takes me back to when I had just gotten into skating. K2 backyard bobs were my first pair of skates. I take that back, I had a pair of regular oxygen inlines that I took the middle wheels out of and started grinding ledges. Now they have frames without middle wheels period (xsjado). It's truly amazing to see how far the sport has progressed. Absolutely nostalgic and it's making me want to strap my boots back on as I'm typing this. Props.
I used to ride in the 90's and that reminds me of very good memories.
Would you mind posting videos with Matt Lindemuth (vert.) and with Matt Salerno / Aaron Feinberg / Nicky Adams / Tim Ward (Street ASA) if you have some?
i think being kicked out of x games was the best thing that has happend to inlining because after that inlining proggressed so much just to get back into it after being out of x games so many more tricks were made and has impacted rollerblading in a big way no dought if rollerblading was brought back into the xgames we would try even harder to make tricks and it would be 1 of the most popular sports on it and of course chris haffey will get gold xD
omg this sport has proggressed i can do all this stuff and ive been onl skating for 2 years they didnt really consider style back then they just went with what trick they did now its all about the style
Try viewing the whole "its all good" vid- it puts the comp into context. These guys behind these ams were the pioneers of the sport- without them the sport would not be where it is today. Homage to C.Edwards is v. cool.
Damn...i dont know where the turning point was for rollin', but if this is 11yrs old i remeber 2002 when the 2nd regime video hit, then Words by mindgame and i am not a 100% on this but i think thats when the bar was raised...lets be honest to take 10yrs to live on a soul n a royale is kinda extreem n stupid
unbelivable to see how sports evolve sooo fast. This movie is only 11 years old and it shows. Not that these guys arent good, they were actually the bests , but you see kids nowadays doing what was considered impossible back then at a really early age.
@petepiaire Thank you for your insight. I did not know that aggressive in-line skating unevolved that rapidly. I admired these young boys for their athletic talent and their decency and attempted to push back at parents and teachers who thought they were useless wastes.
i miss my old k2 backyard bobs and this makes me remember my them....RIP first pair of inline skate, i would so skate a pair now if i could find some but hey i love my valos too
its amazing to see how far it's progressed. so muchh more now. if this sport were exposed at the right time (such as now) instead of getting all the hype back then...it woulda been one of the tops today. up there with skateboarding. so technical nowadays. keep rolling
I forgot how far rolling has progressed and refined itself. Not really surprising it took a popularity nosedive after being so over exposed when the sport was still in its infancy. But I'm still nostalgic for those old-school days of FR and Hoax II.
Surprising to me that you do not find something "older" fascinating. In any activity I know of, the younger people are interested in what the older people did. Apparently you do not apply here. I hope you find some other video that suits you.
hahahahah...wow..nene,kelly ,ozzie,robert,jacklone,ortega...this was new york skating on thr raw...fr team......new kids now dont know shit about this guys..its sad bro........thatnks 4 the memorys
The film was made in 1999, at the high point of the aggressive in-line skating competitions and when the founders, like Arlo, were still young man. I am glad you enjoyed ii. You should get the whole thing.
