@dmougianis Then WHY do I know all about it then? Where did I see the coverage of Shehan camping out at Bush's Texas ranch? Where did I see all the coverage of her? She was on EVERY news channel damn near everytime I turned the news on! So was Ried "the war is lost", Kerry "Don't get an education, you end up in Iraq" & "our troops terrorize women & children in the dark of night". Durbin "our troops are soviet gulag gaurds". Murtha "Cold blooded murderers".. yada. Troop deaths reported DAILY!
@dmougianis SHE WAS! Are you denying that she was a name that EVERYONE knew during the Bush years? She was a household name. I cannot think of a talk show that she WASN'T on!
The left used her like yesterdays whore. Go ahead & deny it, doing so makes YOU look stupid.
@flyboymd82 You're saying that she was every news program everytime you turn on your television? Was it a special Cindy Sheehan model only available to right-wing partisans?
Don't look now, but that's a pretty foolish statement.
Clearly we don't agree on much, but we do agree that there isn't enough coverage of the antiwar movement.
@flyboymd82 As I said, I don't think there is enough coverage of the anti-war movement, now or then. You believe that the difference between now and then was ginormous. I don't think the difference was that great.
To be fair, I think there is less coverage now, but not what you, with your over-the-top exaggeration, believe to be.
I know I won't change your mind. You won't change mine.
It's up to you if you want to keep saying the same things back and forth.
@dmougianis The difference in lack of coverage & FOR SURE the lack of NEGATIVE coverage is painfully obvious. If you don't agree, I can't help but thinking you're just not being honest.
I live in a major midwestern city. During the Bush years the radio station I listen to has ABC news every 30 minutes. They LITERALLY reported troop deaths of the day before EVERY 30 minutes on their news broadcast. The week Obama took his oath, this STOPPED completely! They NEVER report troop deaths anymore.
@dmougianis YES THEY DID! If you read my post & attempt to comprehend it I said "they reported the troop deaths of the "DAY BEFORE" every 30 minutes" YES! I did NOT say they had a body count update every half hour!
@flyboymd82 When troops die, it's news. The latest deaths occurred last month. and reported by the media, which is their job, then and now.
From ABC:
"The U.S. military says two American soldiers have died in combat in northern Iraq.
A statement by the military says the soldiers from the U.S. North Division were killed Wednesday while conducting a patrol. The death raises to at least 4,390 the number of U.S. military personnel who have died in Iraq...
@flyboymd82 (con't) Then as now, when names of deceased soldiers are released, they are reported. If no-one died the day before, then there would be no such report.
If you say heard daily 30 minute reports of war dead, even on days when no dead soldiers names were released, then yes, you are lying.
@dmougianis Do I REALLY have to spell everything out for you or are you just playing semantics with me? Sheesh.
YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN!
You're wrong, the latest deaths were 3 weeks ago. My best friends son is in Afganistan. THe media isn't reporting them anymore unless they're 'juicy' like when 4 or 5 or MORE get killed at one time.
@flyboymd82 "You're wrong, the latest deaths were 3 weeks ago"
Three weeks ago was last month. That ABC news report was from that incident. Thankfully, we are seeing less deaths in both wars, and so there are fewer reports.
Would you be happier if more people were dying so there could be more reporting? Would that satisfy your right-wing paranoia?
@dmougianis YOU'RE WRONG. My friends son has had several friends killed in the past 6 months & NONE of them were reported nationally. They were only reported in thier home towns by the local media. I've checked the local media websites in thier hometowns then checked the national media outlets.
As for your last question, it doesn't deserve an answer. Pretty stupid to even ask something like that don't ya think?
@dmougianis Yeah? Thanks for the advice. Make sure to check under yours for George Bush & those dastardly 'chickenhawks' who support thier troops! BASTARDS!
Oh, by the way, the New York Times has a section called: "Names of the Dead" It's lists the name of EVERY soldier killed in Iraq or Afganistan as the names become available.
I guess that big "search" you did for your cousin's uncles dentist's son's friends who were casualties didn't turn that up. But now you know.

what did yuou want him to spring into action, rip his suit off and fly to the Trade center/D.C./Pennsylvania and intercept those planes with his bare hands?
Yup, no good at all, he just made shit worse in our country and the whole world. Why are you riding bush's dick in the first place, did he give you a better life? Bush can send people to war by cheerleading( he was one in school), but he is actually a deserter. Where are the WMD's now do you see any, dumbass. I served in the military and I've lost friends and still have friends and family in iraq. Maybe you should join up....do yourself a favor.
You couldn't manage to find the ABC news piece? My, how hard you must have looked after you cherry-picked your one sentence with no attributions from the WaPo piece that has as it's lead the fact that Cheney pressured CIA
Believe what you want - believe in pink unicorns for all I care. But I'll call BS when you post BS
Oh, and in regards to your allegation about 4 foreign intelligence agencies - you'll have to actually say who they are and what they reported.
Sorry, but I don't trust the word of right wingers- as we've seen, they have a history of making things up. Bush lied and got us involved in a pointless war in Iraq, after all.
I DID google your quote. Here's the story's LEAD PARAGRAPH. Vice President Cheney and his most senior aide made multiple trips to the CIA over the past year to question analysts studying Iraq's weapons programs and alleged links to al Qaeda, creating an environment in which some analysts felt they were being pressured to make their assessments fit with the Bush administration's policy objectives, according to senior intelligence officials.
Cherry-picking's not a way to deny cherry picking.
He tells correspondent Ed Bradley the real failure was not in the intelligence community but in the White House. He says he saw how the Bush administration, time and again, welcomed intelligence that fit the president's determination to go to war and turned a blind eye to intelligence that did not.
(CBS) When no weapons of mass destruction surfaced in Iraq, President Bush insisted that all those WMD claims before the war were the result of faulty intelligence. But a former top CIA official, Tyler Drumheller — a 26-year veteran of the agency — has decided to do something CIA officials at his level almost never do: Speak out.
Paul R. Pillar The former CIA official who coordinated U.S. intelligence on the Middle East until last year has accused the Bush administration of "cherry-picking" intelligence on Iraq to justify a decision it had already reached to go to war, and of ignoring warnings that the country could easily fall into violence and chaos after an invasion to overthrow Saddam Hussein.
Lawrence Wilderson - Cheif of Staff at the State Dept.
Well, if the Vice President was exercising his right as one of the leaders of this country to go to one of its intelligence agencies and to-- check on how they're doing and to make sure that they're doing their jobs properly and so forth, I find it difficult to believe that took 10 times. And as I've said, it's absurd to think that intelligence isn't somehow politicized at times.
It's equally absurd for the Vice President to assert that his trips out to the agency were not bringing undue influence on the agency. That's preposterous. Anytime a leader of his stature visits a single agency that many times, he is, by simply the virtue of his position, bringing undue influence on that agency.
Youtube apparently doesn't like weblinks in comments.

Look, believe what you want to believe - lost of people believe in bigfoot and the loch ness monster too
But don't be surprised when people with memories call you out on your ridiculous assertions.
It did work. There was no active WMD program when Bush made the catastrophic choice to invade. Clinton did what any sane person would do - use pressure, sometimes a lot, but keep military action as a last resort. Not a first choice like Bush. And certainly not invasion.
Want to know about clinton & containment - google it.. I don''t have time to educate you.
But I will counter the wingnut thought turds you leave on my page. Again, the issue isn't opposition to Saddam, it was HOW IT WAS DONE.
"but according to you that wasn't good enough to inpose sanctions. Iraq disopbeyed those UN sanctions. Now what? We just say "Okay then, have it your way." ? and let them build nuclear weapons?"
You are a real champion of obtuseness, aren't you.
I didn't say no sanctions. CONTAINMENT, as I've said to you many times now. Containment and inspections and UN sanctions. And it was working. Then came Bush.....
I watched your video. No one is contesting that Saddam posed a threat to the world.
None of the democrats you seek to smear stated anything that was as lie. They also had a policy of containment, not occupation.
Bush and company, however, did lie to get us into a ground war. They lied about the yellowcake in Africa, they lied about the aluminum centrifuge tubes - even after being told by the IAEA that they had lied, and they lied about Saddams nuclear capabilities being immanent.
Reily needs an enema when he's done with his show each day because he is so full of sht-we smell him all the way down hwere in ALLAssska! And we can see Rusia from our house!

Nice try.

I did follow the events back them. What Clinton "said" was that Saddam Hussein needed to be contained. The one trying to rewrite history is you.
What he didn't do it lie to get us into a war on false pretenses that is STILL costing American lives and treasure 6 years later.

"The mushroom cloud" ala Saddam Hussein must have been the same one he used against us in Desert Storm
