@MillionairX they never said it was an SS, and you can clearly hear the supercharger on the engine. you do know you can take the supercharger off of an SS you find in the junk yard and it all bolts right up, and now 2.2 LS's even have tuning software. my LS is turbo charged with 60lb injectors and tuned by trifecta performance, I make 262whp on 10lbs of boost.

@Bigone621 been a long time since ive been on youtube. but no man thats not true.. i drive a pos little mx-3 with the klze swap and i shit on colbalt SS from a 30 roll.. only way they pull on me hard is if were doing a 80+ roll.(higher rpm and boost is built) naturally aspirated shits all over any type of boost off the hop.
These cars are very evenly matched. That should be obvious because it all depends upon the starting speed when racing from a roll. It seems to me that the Cobalt is in it's sweet spot at 40 MPH, but not so much at 20 or 30 MPH. You guys should race from a dig and see what happens.
Whoever said this is a S/C Cobalt is FUDGING HIGH!!! My LS1 T/A Pulls about 3-5 cars on a S/C Cobalt from a 20-100 roll and it doesn't take 14-15 seconds to do 20-100, freaking morons. That MX-6 would get beat by my old V6'er

@WizardOfTheKit The car doesn't run a procharger, it uses an Eaton MP62 which is a roots charger. Roots chargers act like air pumps where centrifugal supercharger (prochargers) are designed to bring on boost similar to a turbo, but driven by belt rather than exhaust. Roots chargers produce the "Whining" type sound & act as an airpump rather than a compressor, where as prochargers produce a noticeable BOV sound due to their design. =)
@IWBTIB the procharger refers to any supercharger, just a different way to say the samething, and all of them give boost from idle on they dont need to spool,because of being belt driven, as is does roots charger, and all of them have that destinctive wine, plus they dont have the blowoff vaulve swoosh sound that the turbos have, they all pretty much sound the same

I miss this car. The cobalt was a 2.2litre Cobalt LS n/a. Found a wrecked cobalt SS in the junkyard believe it or not and stole the supercharger and recaro seats out of it. Installed it all and ran a AEM fuel management. In the 2nd race i think i started in too high of a gear so i bogged a little but otherwise it was a good race. The mx6 had full exhaust and cold air intake obv but i also tuned it because it used to be turbocharged but blew too many trannys. Put it back to N/A and raced
Kinda looked like u jumped on the wins u got. Good race id say even cars. Speed wise. Im a chevy boy though so cant give u to much props ;). Lol. Nice vid. But i do think it was all about reaction from that third honk. Cuz the 30 run he pulls u hard. Could be gearing as well. Nice vid though.
nice run. Is the mx-6 modded? I used to work at at mitsu dealer and remember them being pretty raspy but never ran one out to see what it would do. I know the slowbalt isn't that fast but is supercharged and I didn't expect you to hang and comeback on in instances the SS. Nice shifting too... hope the tranny lasts for you. if he had waited just 1 more year to buy his Cobalt he would have had an extra 3 hp...seriously...the first 2 years that they put the L61 engine in the Cobalt (05-06) had less hp and less torque than the next "generation" of L61 engine. Of course the newer 2.2L Ecotec Cobalts have the LAP engine which has more hp (155) but the same torque as ur friends...I have a 2007 2.2L which came stock with 148 hp and 155 ft lbs of torque...I like his car better than urs, sorry..Cobalts FTW

@Red97Avenger GM f'd up big on the Cruze tho..well on the LS model anyways...they swapped out the timing chain and put a timing belt and installed an interference engine on it :facepalm: not a very bright move for them..the LT, LTZ, and the SS one thats supposed to come out and the Eco one are all chain driven...in short..stay away from the Cruze LS lol...btw yeah ur car would blow the doors off of my Cobalt, but I'm a Chev guy so what can I say? lol
@titogcuban Actually if you watch one of the runs, the Cobalt loses its lead on the MX-6 as soon as he shifts into 5th. The MX-6's gears are taller, so he was able to ride out 4th longer.
You could hear the whine of the supercharger, listen slosely to it, and the low rise spoiler was a standard option on all SS/SC models, the highrise was another option
@vtownHduece They never made a 2.2L SS, They had the 2.4L N/A, 2.0L Supercharged, and (Current SS) 2.0 Turbo. So it's a non SS with a supercharger kit slapped onto it, you can also tell by the front and rear bumpers, and the fact the wing isn't the huge supercharged one.
@CJDaTman They had N/A 2.4L first known as "SS" then changed to "Sport". It doesn't really matter because a slobalt will always be a slobalt. 2.2 is the base motor, and they no longer make the 2.4's
the only way the mazda is getting away is by the whole shot its a really evenly matched race i wouldnt say that either car is faster but whoever is in the mx6 is a better driver for sure.

i had one of those Mx6 in canada they was called from 1993 to 1997 MX6 Mystere i had a 93 and it was a pos but i had the 2.0 DOCH but if you put a KLZE in those they are fucking fast but im a GM guy so i prefer the cobalt
@MrMilitary22 Why so harsh? not everyne knows everything about cobalts. And to set the record straight the hp is not all what its out to be. 2.2 is 148bhp which is about 128whp. SS/NA (now called sport) is 171bhp (used to be 173) and actually about 163 whp. SS/SC is rated at 205whp but actually around 210-215whp. SS/TC is 260bhp, which is around 245-255 whp. Next time you bash someone for asking a question or giving there opinion make sure you got your stats right.

Anyone know a good amount about MX-6's and or Stick shift issues, im having a problem with my MX-6 the clutch seems to lose pressure as soon as i turn on the car, when the car is off the clutch seems fine and is firm, once it turns on i shift into 1st and If i'm lucky ill hit 2nd but the clutch will lose pressure and sink and refuse to come back up unless I bring it up manually =( PLEASE HELP!!!!

@WizardOfTheKit The car doesn't run a procharger, it uses an Eaton MP62 which is a roots charger. Roots chargers act like air pumps where centrifugal supercharger (prochargers) are designed to bring on boost similar to a turbo, but driven by belt rather than exhaust. Roots chargers produce the "Whining" type sound & act as an airpump rather than a compressor, where as prochargers produce a noticeable BOV sound due to their design. =)

I had a 4cyl Mx-6 that ran 17.1 at Nopi. slow I know but compared to the 19 sec when I first bought it she was a fun car to drive! I so wanted to upgrade to the KLZE engine with a Garret Turbo. Sorry I ever sold the car.

I miss this car. The cobalt was a 2.2litre Cobalt LS n/a. Found a wrecked cobalt SS in the junkyard believe it or not and stole the supercharger and recaro seats out of it. Installed it all and ran a AEM fuel management. In the 2nd race i think i started in too high of a gear so i bogged a little but otherwise it was a good race. The mx6 had full exhaust and cold air intake obv but i also tuned it because it used to be turbocharged but blew too many trannys. Put it back to N/A and raced

nice run. Is the mx-6 modded? I used to work at at mitsu dealer and remember them being pretty raspy but never ran one out to see what it would do. I know the slowbalt isn't that fast but is supercharged and I didn't expect you to hang and comeback on in instances the SS. Nice shifting too... hope the tranny lasts for you. So, nice vid I enjoyed it.

if he had waited just 1 more year to buy his Cobalt he would have had an extra 3 hp...seriously...the first 2 years that they put the L61 engine in the Cobalt (05-06) had less hp and less torque than the next "generation" of L61 engine. Of course the newer 2.2L Ecotec Cobalts have the LAP engine which has more hp (155) but the same torque as ur friends...I have a 2007 2.2L which came stock with 148 hp and 155 ft lbs of torque...I like his car better than urs, sorry..Cobalts FTW

@eyesore1978 its 2004 engine tranny . oem lsd is going strong and srt4 has 0 problems , considering billet input shaft for tranny before raw power eats it up ... i dont beat the shit out of it too too bad ... anything that people dog out with eventually break , thats granted . i actually think the trannys are very strong for being made for a lil 4 banger . but i do respect the turbo cobalts , gm got some education and ditched that useless s/c thank god

@Red97Avenger GM f'd up big on the Cruze tho..well on the LS model anyways...they swapped out the timing chain and put a timing belt and installed an interference engine on it :facepalm: not a very bright move for them..the LT, LTZ, and the SS one thats supposed to come out and the Eco one are all chain driven...in short..stay away from the Cruze LS lol...btw yeah ur car would blow the doors off of my Cobalt, but I'm a Chev guy so what can I say? lol

@titogcuban Actually if you watch one of the runs, the Cobalt loses its lead on the MX-6 as soon as he shifts into 5th. The MX-6's gears are taller, so he was able to ride out 4th longer.

@vtownHduece They never made a 2.2L SS, They had the 2.4L N/A, 2.0L Supercharged, and (Current SS) 2.0 Turbo. So it's a non SS with a supercharger kit slapped onto it, you can also tell by the front and rear bumpers, and the fact the wing isn't the huge supercharged one.

@CJDaTman They had N/A 2.4L first known as "SS" then changed to "Sport". It doesn't really matter because a slobalt will always be a slobalt. 2.2 is the base motor, and they no longer make the 2.4's

Crower stage 2 cams Cosworth throttle body. CAI, full stainless exhaust from header back. SCT tuned. your cobalt and any stock to mildly modded SRT4 would be in his mirror in a second and anyone who wants to call BS i will posta vid

@MrMilitary22 Why so harsh? not everyne knows everything about cobalts. And to set the record straight the hp is not all what its out to be. 2.2 is 148bhp which is about 128whp. SS/NA (now called sport) is 171bhp (used to be 173) and actually about 163 whp. SS/SC is rated at 205whp but actually around 210-215whp. SS/TC is 260bhp, which is around 245-255 whp. Next time you bash someone for asking a question or giving there opinion make sure you got your stats right.

Yeah well if your Cobalt can take on my 420BHP RX7 fd3s or my buddys R33 Skyline GTR it would be intreasting. Plus my brother has a Nissan Pulsar VZR N1 that is only 1600cc non turbo and does 150 mph and hits 60 mph in under 6secs and its only 1.6L. A Cobalt here would be whipped. Anyone know a good amount about MX-6's and or Stick shift issues, im having a problem with my MX-6 the clutch seems to lose pressure as soon as i turn on the car, when the car is off the clutch seems fine and is firm, once it turns on i shift into 1st and If i'm lucky ill hit 2nd but the clutch will lose pressure and sink and refuse to come back up unless I bring it up manually =( PLEASE HELP!!!!
