1975 Mercury Cougar Commercial

The cougar's name was Tom-Tom and his trainer was Bob Steele. When the cougar was being led into a auto show in 1982, a boy bumped the cat while running past the mountain lion. The cat reacted by grabbing the boy by the neck and held him. Sadly, someone had to shoot the cat to free the boy. The boy did survive, though.

I remember these commercials and Farrah was an unknown then. Cheryl Tiegs started doing Cougar commercials when Fawcett became a superstar on Charlie's Angels.

I remember when this would air! I finally got a new black '79 Cougar XR-7 w/ sunroof(Last of the true big cougars). Such cool cars! I really wish I still had it.

Hey isn't that Farrah Fawcett from Charlies Angels? I love the mid-70's era Mercury Cougar ads as they usually featured a hot chik driving a Cougar and the wildcat always lurking nearby. Great stuff thanks for posting!
