After that's confirmed, Colvin meets Stringer in the graveyard in Ep. 11 in which Stringer gives Colvin the address where Avon spent most of his time in rooms full of guns/grenades. Colvin says "He must have done something to you" and Stringer replied "Nah, it's just business."
They needed to say they killed Stringer. Saying you killed the Second in command in the crew who run that side of town. Marlo was right to do this. That's why the say goes " believe nothing you hear and half of what you see".
Chris and Snoop are very intelligent, but not intelligent enough to kill Stringer Bell. Marlo's crew is brilliant, no question about it, but not that brilliant.
@lildwayne21: I don't think that Stringer was that hard to get to. He was often in the B&B publishing joint; that had an accessible entrance from the street. He also met with Levy etc downtown often; he could have been tailed quite easily. At one point, he was even secretly meeting Marlo to negotiate. He was nowhere near as elusive as Avon because, in a way, he didn't have to be. Avon just happened to kill Stringer first on a personal level. If ordered, Chris&Snoop could have got to him.
Its was early in the episode when Bell gave the officer a fold piece of paper and said its just business gotta watch everything to understand everything thats why i loved the show everything they did was important to future events.
Just a slight observation here, you hear Avon's phone ringing just as he finds out that Stringer sold him out, the ultimate betrayal, hence he ignores (maybe too stunned to hear) the phone. If the phone had rung a few seconds earlier...

Stringer owned Copying/Faxing companies and Legit operations that caused him to be Very Accessible to the Public. Marlo could have gotten to him Easily. but String wasnt the Head of that operation...merely an Advisor aka right hand man. all they would have done was made Avon mad...and Avon would have completely smashed him like he was about to lol. it would have been Dope to have them have a big showdown at the end of season 3...Slim should have just blazed Marlo, no questions asked.
He lays fairly low until Marlo's organisation is busted, then he kills Cheese to avenge Joe and takes control of the connection with the Greeks. At the end of the season he seems to be running the Co-Op.

After that's confirmed, Colvin meets Stringer in the graveyard in Ep. 11 in which Stringer gives Colvin the address where Avon spent most of his time in rooms full of guns/grenades. @lildwayne21: I don't think that Stringer was that hard to get to. He was often in the B&B publishing joint; that had an accessible entrance from the street. He also met with Levy etc downtown often; he could have been tailed quite easily. At one point, he was even secretly meeting Marlo to negotiate. He was nowhere near as elusive as Avon because, in a way, he didn't have to be. Avon just happened to kill Stringer first on a personal level. If ordered, Chris&Snoop could have got to him.
