@vreference Yep, engine and gearbox share the same oil in a bike engine. Had quite a few blow over the years I ran that car, and in many instances the first indication of a problem is when the gearbox tightens. The datalogger showed 24,000rpm, not claiming it spun that high, but sure gets the views on a video. Datalogger also showed an upshift as the rod let go and came through the side. But great diagnosis and judgement from not actually being there :)
@ryanrummler You don't have to know much to throw a westfield together. You can see the drivers head thrown forward (massive deceleration) at the exact moment engine RPM increases dramatically. They want to believe the recorded RPM data may be wrong (despite audio corroboration) and instead believe the recorded upshift command means an upshift occurred. Occam's razor applies here and the only plausible explanation is a downshift no matter what the logger recorded from a failing transmission.
you need a new conjubuilater belt in the aiorpex on the forth chamber cam that runs the corvette type spinner wheel that is conected to the leg bone the leg bones conected to the knee bone and you replace that and it will run perfect agian

Unless you're there to SEE the resulting damage, you can't actually tell what's gone wrong. I mean, you can make a rough estimate, but a few symptoms can branch out to millions of causes.
A symptom as simple as not wanting to start can be a bad spark-plug, or a longer-than-standard piston creating higher crank-pressures, resulting in higher resistance on the down-stroke and impeding the engine's revolutions.
Definitely the gear box or the rear end. Probably the rear end most likely. Either case your screwed. Least the motor didn't go. Though I suspect there was some damage.

The other thing that doesn't add up is that the gear ratio is far closer on R1s and this kind of rpm change in a single gear just isn't characteristic of an R1 engine/transmission with 0.1 0r 0.2 ratio changes.
at 30 seconds his left hand is clear of the shifter pad and you hear the UP shift, you can see his left hand move when it blows, HE DOWN SHIFTED WHEN HE WAS MEANT TO UP SHIFT, SIMPLES! some people have up shift on left but not in this case.

at 0:35 you can clearly see the bird fly in to the air intake. From the looks of it, it was most likely a finch of some kind. Had it been a crow, the results may have been different. These are the dangers of racing in open air.

@BoostedVtec When the engine explodes, all power/drive is lost. So you go from accelerating hard to decelarating - hence head moving forward. First thought was of course a downshift, but datalogging proved there was no blame there...
@geefin in the video it definately downshifted, im sorry but when an engine blows up it wont increase in rpm like it did, the engine SCREAMS for about a half a second then it sounds like its in neutral. What i think happened, was how you said it skipped a gear before...i think the tranny messed up and jumped to a lower gear. Also not the drivers fault, but the data logging would still show 5-6 even if the trans didnt actually shift up if it was a mechanical trans failure
@geefin alos its not unlikely that the trans could jump to a lower gear instead of a higher one if it was on its way out, my atv has a similar (in operation) trans as a car like this...and its even happened to me in person when i lifted the shift pedal to shift to a higher gear, the trans would grind and kick to lower gear and make the engine scream like in this video

first thing you hear when the shit hits the fan is the motor rev like hell and you hear a smacking like noise, my geuss, pistons hitting valves or the head and then it sounds like the motor let go so my geuss is a misshift or the clutch or transmition taking a shit hence the motor reving causing it to "die"

I agree, you clearly downshifted at the straight away. You can see your hand switch gears and hear the rpms shoot up. Your reaction time was slow and by that point your engine was indeed shot. User error.

at 0:35 you can clearly see the bird fly in to the air intake. From the looks of it, it was most likely a finch of some kind. Had it been a crow, the results may have been different. These are the dangers of racing in open air.

@crombieposterboy They make valves more and more out of titanium cause lighter, (Reacts quicker.) and stiffer springs... etc..., Very ` pointy` looking camshafts and everything.
Be no matter what he would have put in, that kind of overrevving KILLS it at once...
HE made valve and piston shjish kebab :D
He not to smart in first place, in case of any weird sound in engine, press clutch and drift the car out.
Instead he mixes it some more...(Not that, that engine is to be saved.)

He downshifted instead of upshift, valves `float` under the TO HIGH RPM you put it in, and they `touch` the pistons.
In simple words, to much revving, lot of damage :P

Even i noticed earlyer in lap engine to go off from gear without actual gearchange, first sings of broken transmission and in that stright, transmission just couldnt handle and let the engine go from 14k to 24k rpm for a 0.1secs and then engine broke. Id like to see datalogs.

This dudes a liar.. see as his whole head moves forward after he mistakenly DOWNSHIFTED, on a straight away. We can clearly see you downshift with ur left hand on the paddles....tranny is fucked im sure, but what you hear on this vid is you sending your piston through the head at 17k rpm after a downshift...sure your engine blew up.... you dont blow your engine upshifting, thats not how it happens.

@BoostedVtec When the engine explodes, all power/drive is lost. So you go from accelerating hard to decelarating - hence head moving forward. First thought was of course a downshift, but datalogging proved there was no blame there...

@geefin in the video it definately downshifted, im sorry but when an engine blows up it wont increase in rpm like it did, the engine SCREAMS for about a half a second then it sounds like its in neutral. What i think happened, was how you said it skipped a gear before...i think the tranny messed up and jumped to a lower gear. Also not the drivers fault, but the data logging would still show 5-6 even if the trans didnt actually shift up if it was a mechanical trans failure

@geefin alos its not unlikely that the trans could jump to a lower gear instead of a higher one if it was on its way out, my atv has a similar (in operation) trans as a car like this...and its even happened to me in person when i lifted the shift pedal to shift to a higher gear, the trans would grind and kick to lower gear and make the engine scream like in this video

@BoostedVtec watch his left hand when he actually downshifts approaching a corner. you can't see it move at all as he squeezes his fingers to move the paddle.
watch his left hand as the car dies. it looks to me like he's just getting the cramps out. you need glasses or something more.
