I really like your vids!! You have a refreshingly open mind!! This woman..shirleykirk...has a serious problem!! People like her spend their entire lives trying to disprove science!! Pathetic!!
shirleykirk: There have been so many replies and replies to replies that it's getting difficult to sort out. This comment is a reply to your comment regarding the earliest life forms. Scientists hypothesize that the first cells appeared about 3.5 billion years ago and that the sequence of events leading to the appearance of such living organisms took billions of years. It might be a little difficult to conduct an experiment to support this assertion. ;-)
Chapter 14 (Patterns of Genome Evolution) in Genomes by T.A.Brown discusses the origins of life. Also the last section (The RNA World and the Origins of Life) in the Molecular Biology of the Cell by Alberts et. al. also contains relevant interesting discussion. I warn that these are both advanced texts, but the information is out there if you care to take the time to study it.
That was the last section of chapter six in the Alberts book. This discussion of evolution doesn't relate directly to this video. We've kind of strayed a bit off topic!
It seems that your objective in your video is to send a message promoting your atheistic views to the impressionable. I am merely sharing further information so they can come to there own conclusions.

In the books you mentioned, does it have an answer 1. To have caused organisms to evolve from one basic kind (animals which can reproduce with one another) into another basic kind. This is prohibited genetically since all of the information for the development of an organism has already been encoded in the DNA of its parent. Variation to organisms must remain within its basic kind.
All the `information' for the development of each particular organism was already `encoded' in the DNA of its parent. They must reproduce `after their kinds

2. Even more serious difficulty is the fact that practically all observed mutations are harmful, and usually even fatal, to the creature experiencing them. Truly beneficial mutations are so rarely observed, and even these are so questionable, as to leave their very existence still in doubt. Even evolutionary geneticists readily acknowledge that 99.9% of all observed mutations are harmful.
If you are really interested in learning about microbiology, then do the reading and the work to understand the concepts. You seem to have developed a skewed awareness of some of concepts and so I encourage you to study further and with an open mind. It's not really appropriate to have a prolonged discussion of this kind in this forum, particularly in the context of a video about a novel that parodies an Evangelical youth summer camp.

I don't believe I have a skewed awarness, I share the same awarness as many individuals I worked with in the medical field. Perhaps you should do more research. I do not see the need for any more discussion on this topic since you have not and will not answer the questions I have asked. Books that adhere to evolution are consistantly challenged by many in the scientific community.
My book is not about evolution, nor does it make a single reference to evolution, natural selection, or genetics. If you want to have a discussion about evolution go find a video relevant to that topic. I'm chomping at the bit to answer your questions because the vulnerabilities are so huge and obvious, but I'll allow you to pursue your "debate" with someone else.
shirleykirk, you are officially retarded. Don't pretend to know anything about science. Most people in the scientific community think you're crazy...there are some people-few in the scientific community, and most of them are from USA-that will not accept evolution simply because it contradicts their religion and what they have been force fed their whole lives. So instead of real evidence, they say "the bible is evidence"...and now the earth is 6000 years old, and people lived with dinosaurs.
@shirleykirk you must be veru deluded if you chose not to believe in evolution. Look up Richard Dawkins. Evolution is no longer a theory. It is a scientific fact. You should get YOUR facts right.
@xomiakas I am very familiar with Richard Dawkins, and I know that Dawkins does not believe humans came from pond scum because he knows that it is impossible scientifically with the evidence we have. I appreciate his honesty when he admits when asked how life began;
"Nobody knows how it got started. We know the kind of event that it must have been. We know the sort of event that must have happened for the origin of life."
No, evolutions is not a scientific fact. In fact, as technology is
improving scientists are beginning to see how impossible evolution is.

Dr. Richard Lumsden 1938-97 was fully grounded in Darwinian philosophy.
But at the apex of his professional career, he had enough integrity to check out the facts, and made a difficult choice to go where the facts led him, against what he had been taught, and against what he himself taught. His life took a dramatic turnaround, from Darwinist to creationist, and from atheist to Christian.
Dr. Richard Lumsden 1938-97 was professor of parasitology and cell biology at Tulane University. He served as dean of the graduate school, and published hundreds of scientific papers. He trained 30 PhDs. Thoroughly versed in biological sciences, both in knowledge and lab technique, including electron microscopy, he won the highest world award for parasitology.
I have a few DVD's of David Menton who has a Ph. D. in cell biology from Brown University. He also has a B.A. from Mankato State University in Mankato, Minnesota. This scientist is widely recognized for being a member of the American Association of Anatomists.

Didn't you in your last post mentioned a book written by atheist Richard Dawkins,
The greatest show on earth?
My point is that I am very familiar with Richard Dawkins' writings, I have watched several debates, etc. In everything I have heard or read by him, he does not prove evolution is a fact, nor does he have an answer to the question of where did man come from. By merely stating evolution is a fact does not make it a fact.
20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,
"DNA is like a computer program, but far far more advanced than any software we’ve ever created.” Bill Gates, in the book “The Road Ahead” (Boulder: Blue Penguin, 1996), p228
They “…looked at an international assortment of genes and picked up a trail of DNA that led them to a single (individual) woman from whom we are all descended.” “We are finding that humans have very, very shallow genetic roots which go back very recently to one ancestor.” Michael Hammer, University of Arizona, Newsweek, 1-11-1988.
@shirleykirk I think that it is impossible for the human mind to understand the origins of the universe and ultimately the creation of the multiverse simply because it is too early and we only melted the tip of the iceberg, when it comes to modern science. I too think that there must have been an intelligent mind which gave start to all this and this is understandable but let's look deeper - what created the creator? who created the creaters creator and so on..? what is the purpose of all this?
That is a good question, I have thought of that myself. But by knowing that there is a Creator of the Universe, I have discovered that the Bible explains many of my questions. One is that God was not created;
The Bible makes it clear in many places that God is outside of time. He is eternal, with no beginning or end—He is infinite! He also knows all things, being infinitely intelligent.
@shirleykirk Ultimately I prefer to stick with the facts we got and throw all the bullshit away-in bullshit I mean religion. Religion is dangerous because it gives power to the weak human minds to think they know it all(Dawkins said so himself if I recall correctly). In my opinion Religion is the most ridiculous thing created by man.The quotations of the bible truly anger me,because the book is such a joke. If you think the same then we are one the same side.If you're a theist- you're delusional.
Wow, I didn't catch this post until after I posted my response to your "Who created the creator?

As scientists explore a new universe—the universe inside the cell—they are making startling discoveries of information systems more complex than anything ever devised by humanity's best minds. How did they get there,
Michael Denton in his book "Evolution: A Theory in Crisis" wrote "A living cell is so incredibly complex that its interdependent components stagger the imagination and defy evolutionary explanations. A single cell contains over 60,000 proteins of 100 different configurations." Joseph Mastropaolo in his work "Evolution Is Biologically Impossible" stated that "The chance of this assemblage occurring by mere chance is 1 in 104,478,296."
Does he give the odds on a giant, invisible, unknowable, bearded white guy in the sky creating a cell? i would put that at 1 in 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000. get a clue nimrod.

It is hard to respond to a reply that is thrown out without thought, please rethink your question. It is ironic that you mention Nimrod, do you know why today his name is used unfavorably in history? He was King Sargon who was ruler of Akkad located roughly in the area where the Tigris and Euphrates rivers are closest to each other and its northern limit extended beyond the line of the modern cities of Fallujah and Baghdad. Perhaps you should read the Bible.
"To postulate that the development and survival of the fittest is entirely a consequence of chance mutations seems to me a hypothesis based on no evidence and irreconcilable with the facts. These classical evolutionary theories are a gross over-simplification of an immensely complex and intricate mass of facts, and it amazes me that they are swallowed so uncritically and readily, and for such a long time, by so many scientists without murmur of protest." (Sir Ernest Chain, Nobel Prize winner)
Mutations continue to slowly harm us. HIV undermines the immune system's ability to resist invaders; T cells mobilize the body's defenses against disease.
HIV-1 mimics other enemy invaders and essentially blindfolds the T cells to the presence of infection. That would prove intellegent design in the virus. Each generation has a slightly more disordered genetic constitution than the preceding one, and no amount of eugenics can reverse this process of decay.
The bible explains disease will be prevalent in the last days. With this info, if I am wrong, you have nothing to loose. But if I am right, you have all of eternity to loose.
When Intelligent Design advocates start talking science they always wind up sounding uninformed and, quite frankly, silly. I don't mean that in a disrespectful way, but it's hard to take them seriously. As for religious discussions, I recommend Pat Condell's newest offering: "Unholy Scriptures." I've added it to my list of favorites.
Anyone intelligent enough to appreciate the humor of Pat Condell is also intelligent enough to form his or her own opinions independently of the influence of him or anyone else. Pat Condell provides pithy commentary on religion and other topics. Often I agree with what he says. For instance, his statements regarding the Book of Revelations coincide with beliefs I have held for a long time!
Every legitimate argument I have made you said that I am either ignorant or sound silly. Name calling is only a way to divert answering pointed questions. With your apparent knowledge of these topics, it would be more reasonable for you to give direct answers to the issues I presented.
There is nothing silly about 1. Phylogenetic trees; the unbridgeable gaps in the fossil record. Nor am I uninformed when saying 2. Molecular Biology; Nobody has discovered any proof that proteins or nucleic acids could evolve from non life. With enough evidence for Intellegent Design, the books that you recommend seem redundant.
It appears to be more of an issue with your heart, not about discussing facts. Perhaps it has more to do with your lifestyle than science. To acknowledge Biblical truth creates a problem for those who live lives contrary.
Matthew 18:6 " But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
Religion is not science. To discover actual truth one must be willing to set aside dogmatic beliefs. Although scientists are sometimes accused of being dogmatic, it is usually the accusers who are actually dogmatic. What's that Biblical passage about seeing a splinter in someone else's eye?
Aside from religion, again why have you not answered my SCIENTIFIC questions? Contrary, I am very informed and have done much research and am very interested in learning. So please tell me how a life first began? From the elements? Where did the elements come from?
There is over-whelming evidence in support of the theory of evolution. There are also many unanswered questions. To conclude that a theory is untenable simple because there are a few unanswered questions is to misunderstand the definition of "theory" in the first place. Intelligent Design is, quite simply, not science. It belongs in the same category as UFOs, 9/11 Conspiracy Theories, Big Foot, and the Loch Ness Monster.
Getting back to the topic, I am talking about science not religion or conspiracy theories. Could you briefly tell me in just a few sentences from all that you have studied: How did life first began? If from the elements? Where did the elements come from? That is all I am asking.
The theory of evolution is a theory that fails at the very first step. The reason is that evolutionists are unable to explain even the formation of a single protein. Neither the laws of probability nor the laws of physics and chemistry offer any chance for the fortuitous formation of life.
They have never found a single transitional form such as a half-fish/half-reptile or half-reptile/half-bird. Nor have they been able to prove that a protein, or even a single amino acid molecule composing a protein, could have formed under what they call primordial earth conditions; not even in their elaborately-equipped laboratories have they succeeded in doing that.
What we see today is a dumbing down in the school system.Of the first 108 universities founded in America, 106 were distinctly Christian. Yale is the third-oldest institution of higher education in the United States, Founded in 1701.
Noah Webster (1758-1843)The father of public education in America. His 1828 American Dictionary contained the greatest number of Biblical definitions given in any reference volume. Webster considered "education useless without the Bible." Webster learned 20 different languages in finding definitions for which a particular word is used. [Preface to the 1828 edition of Webster's American Dictionary of the English Language]
Daniel Webster (1782—1852), American statesman, lawyer,"If we abide by the principles taught in the Bible, our country will go on prospering and to prosper; but if we and our posterity neglect its instruction and authority, no man can tell how sudden a catastrophe may overwhelm us and bury all our glory in profound obscurity."
James Madison, the primary author of the Constitution of the United States, said this: '"We have staked the whole future of our new nation not upon the power of government; far from it. We have staked the future of all our political constitutions upon the capacity of each of ourselves to govern ourselves according to the moral principles of the Ten Commandments."
Sir William Blackstone (1723-1780). Blackstone was the great Eighteenth Century English legal scholar whose philosophy and writings were infused with Judeo-Christian principles. The Ten Commandments are at the heart of Blackstone's philosophy. Blackstone taught that man is created by God and granted fundamental rights by God. Man's law must be based on God's law. Our Founding Fathers referred to Blackstone more than to any other English or American authority.
But the dumbest schools are the private Christian ones! Then there are the home-schooled numb-skulls... don't even get me started on that one! In public schools most of the "dumbing down" is a result of accommodations made for the religious nut jobs who want to ban Harry Potter and that sort of thing!
No, I said the ideas were ill-informed and I never attacked you personally. I believe you should do some research independent of any ID advocates. I believe you are intelligent enough to come to correct conclusions if you spend a lot of time studying good information.
But, when it comes to identifying positive mutations, evolutionary scientists are strangely silent.
This research affirms the reality of the past Biblical curse of decay and degeneration on the world of nature, as stated in both Old and New Testaments. It also highlights the grim reality of the future hopelessness of the human race without the saving intervention of Our God and Savior Christ Jesus.
Things are not improving like the evolutionist believe. With this array of human diseases that are caused by mutations, what of positive effects? With thousands of examples of harmful mutations readily available, surely it should be possible to describe some positive mutations if macroevolution is true. These would be needed not only for evolution to greater complexity, but also to offset the downward pull of the many harmful mutations.
All these texts are highly regarded by the scientific community. Each book contains chapters that discuss phylogenetic trees in a slightly different way. Alberts et. al. actually shows (p455) how the leptin gene can be used to construct a phylogenetic tree showing the relationship between humans, chimpanzees, and gorillas. The science cannot be quickly explained as there are many advanced underlying concepts, but it cannot be dismissed with silly arguments about the fossil record.
It appears that you have done some reading, I am not as educated as you are, I apologize for my ignorant statement. However, I am not impressed by the books written by evolutionists. In the scientific world today there is many influential evolutionists that are atheists. Eminent scientific philosopher and ardent Darwinian atheist Michael Ruse has even acknowledged that evolution is their religion! Basically what you are telling me is your religion is evolution.
It takes more faith to believe that we were created out of nothing (or slim) than a Creator.I don't believe the lack of fossils is a silly argument, It would cause me to doubt the thoery of evoution. The lack of intermediates where these should have been found lies in stark conflict with evolutionary predictions.
To characterize phylogenetic trees as mere props is trully an ignorant statement. I have read several college texts relevant to the field of molecular biology. (I did this after completing a Master's Degree in computer science as I was contemplating changing careers and entering the field of bioinformatics.)
It doesn't really make much sense to quote Darwin. He came up with the basic theory of evolution, but many of his conjectures were inaccurate. The fact that he came up with the theory before scientist had a clue about DNA attests to his brilliance!
This video is of a "Charismatic" type church camp which is not biblical, it does not follow true Christianity. It appears to follow the false teachings of "slain in the spirit" demonstrated by the kids falling down.
Did you see the "Jesus Camp" documentary? I'm not sure if I'm clear on the distinction between Charismatic and Evangelical. At any rate, my "Bible Camp" book was kind of "inspired" by the "Jesus Camp" movie. ;-)
I saw the trailer of "Jesus Camp", the children falling down is an unbiblical practice that was started by "Charismatic" teachings. Much of this started back in the 70's, but it's roots go even further back. The bible warns plety about false teachers and heretical teachings, espeacially in the last days, so it comes to no surprise. Are you a born again believer?
I didn't get the last, I understand why you may be cynical. Lee Strobel in his book interviews experts in theology, archaeology philosophy psychology writes The atheism I had embraced for so long buckled under the weight of historical truth. There are thousands of scientists who who repudiate evolution in their analysis and use of scientific data Evolutionists are finding it increasingly difficult to maintain the fiction that evolution is science.
Actually with DNA sequencing and the phylogenetic trees derived from this information, the course and mechanisms of evolution have become clearer than ever. There are a handful of "scientists" who claim that evolution has no scientific evidence to support it, but mostly these are opportunists who wish to take advantage of people who don't WANT to admit that evolution is a strong scientific theory.
If you can show me a "transitional" form fossil, I would believe in evolution. If it were a real process, evolution should still be occurring, and there should be many "transitional" forms There is no evidence of transformational intermediates between documented fossil species.
The theory of evolution is supported by fossil evidence, but that support is not nearly as strong as the support provided by DNA evidence. For instance, there are transitional forms of genes that are shared in nearly homologous forms between various species. Also it is fairly easy to show where different species diverged in history based on DNA evidence.
Darwin based his early theory on observation of living species. Fossil evidence was used by subsequent scientists to support his observations. Now DNA evidence shows us that most of what Darwin stated in his theory of evolution seems to be correct.
Thanks for getting back. Again, what fossil evidence? Recently evolutionist have been promoting DNA and other genetic evidence as proof of evolution. However, it is inconsistent with, not only the fossil record, but also with the comparative morphology of the creatures.
Darwin wrote in "Darwin's Origin":
"To the question why we do not find rich fossiliferous deposits belonging to these assumed earliest periods prior to the Cambrian system I can give no satisfactory answer"...
Phylogenic "trees" are used by evolutionists as props to lend support to their theory What is not mentioned though is that all of the branches of the tree both in the main illustration and in the linked secondary pages where the phylogeny of organisms is supposedly represented don't exist in real life.
Arguing about the fossil record at this point is a little archaic. The fossil record is consistent with the general theory of evolution, but the fossil record is a little hit and miss. Many lifeforms may have not been preserved at all in the fossil record. But, again, the fossil record is weak evidence and continuing to argue about it is a little silly.
Read this months later--so I guess the guards and followers of Christ in the garden who fell down when Christ spoke were "heretical"? I think Jesus would find that interesting.
Go to jesuscampersdotcom. You'll see that you have much in common with these brothers and sisters in Christ.
ps: I really liked your evolution-creationism arguments. Well thought out and well-presented.
Actually, I was referring to John 18:6, but I suppose you could use Matt 28:4, also. Although I daresay anyone would shake if they saw someone they crucified up and about 3 days later!
I'm still not sure of your question if you are referring to John 18:6; Judas, the chief priests and Pharisees came to arrest Jesus and when he said I am He, they feel down. I don't know what you mean about them being heretical, could you explain? Thanks
You said in a post months ago that people who fell over under the power of God were heretics, since it was not scriptural. I was wondering how you then interpreted Jn. 18:6.
You should go to jesuscampersdotcom to learn more about your brothers and sisters in Christ in this movie.
In Jn 18:6 those who fell over were; vs Jn 18:3 Judas, having received a detachment of troops, and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees with lanterns, torches, and weapons.
These men were not followers of Christ, they were coming to arrest Jesus. God Himself caused them to fall over, after Jesus said I am He.
Have no idea, asked Ms. Becky, she was unsure also. She said it never happened before or since. That boy is not a part of her ministry, she doesn't know him. In fact, at first she wasn't sure it even happened in one of her meetings, until she realized it was coming from some footage the film crew had shot with her.
Going back to what I was said 9 months ago, this type of behavior: falling over, convulsing is promoted by the false teachings in the charismatic movement. The idea "slain in the spirit" is heretical. It's beginnings was popularized by false teacher's like Benny Hinn. Some of it can be traced as early as 1908. I would not send my children to a camp that promoted that behavior.
I don't know. I wasn't there--neither were you. Did you hear anyone in this doc say it was God? Did you hear anyone say this is a typical thing at Ms. Fischer's meetings?
Well, it's not. I have been to her mtgs many times and have never seen anyone fall over.
You need to go to jesuscampersdotcom before you make judgments about your brothers and sisters in Christ.

I do not see the need for any more discussion on this topic since you have not and will not answer the questions I have asked. Books that adhere to evolution are consistantly challenged by many in the scientific community.
shirleykirk 4 years ago
My book is not about evolution, nor does it make a single reference to evolution, natural selection, or genetics. If you want to have a discussion about evolution go find a video relevant to that topic. I'm chomping at the bit to answer your questions because the vulnerabilities are so huge and obvious, but I'll allow you to pursue your "debate" with someone else.
blackturtleus 4 years ago
shirleykirk, you are officially retarded.

@xomiakas I am very familiar with Richard Dawkins, and I know that Dawkins does not believe humans came from pond scum because he knows that it is impossible scientifically with the evidence we have. I appreciate his honesty when he admits when asked how life began;

a wolf will never evolve into a lion, which is in the Feline family.
Both wild cabbage and cauliflower are in the Brassica oleracea family. The Bible describes different living things as “multiplying after kind.
This is called “subspeciation” (variation within kind), never “transspeciation” (change from one kind to others)

@xomiakas
My point is!?!
By merely stating evolution is a fact does not make it a fact.
shirleykirk 1 year ago
@shirleykirk Where did man come from: whats YOUR theory? Maybe later I'll bring it down to you, but now I have no time.
xomiakas 1 year ago
@xomiakas
My theory is; the evidence points to design which requires a designer.
The designer is God
Romans 1:20
20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,

We know that scientists agree that
They “…looked at an international assortment of genes and picked up a trail of DNA that led them to a single (individual) woman from whom we are all descended.” “We are finding that humans have very, very shallow genetic roots which go back very recently to one ancestor.” Michael Hammer, University of Arizona, Newsweek, 1-11-1988.

@shirleykirk I think that it is impossible for the human mind to understand the origins of the universe and ultimately the creation of the multiverse simply because it is too early and we only melted the tip of the iceberg, when it comes to modern science. I too think that there must have been an intelligent mind which gave start to all this and this is understandable but let's look deeper - what created the creator? who created the creaters creator and so on..? what is the purpose of all this?
xomiakas 1 year ago
@xomiakas
That is a good question, I have thought of that myself. But by knowing that there is a Creator of the Universe, I have discovered that the Bible explains many of my questions. One is that God was not created;
The Bible makes it clear in many places that God is outside of time. He is eternal, with no beginning or end—He is infinite! He also knows all things, being infinitely intelligent.
Psalm 90:2
shirleykirk 1 year ago
@shirleykirk Ultimately I prefer to stick with the facts we got and throw all the bullshit away-in bullshit I mean religion. Religion is dangerous because it gives power to the weak human minds to think they know it all(Dawkins said so himself if I recall correctly). In my opinion Religion is the most ridiculous thing created by man.The quotations of the bible truly anger me,because the book is such a joke. If you think the same then we are one the same side.If you're a theist- you're delusional.

"To postulate that the development and survival of the fittest is entirely a consequence of chance mutations seems to me a hypothesis based on no evidence and irreconcilable with the facts. These classical evolutionary theories are a gross over-simplification of an immensely complex and intricate mass of facts, and it amazes me that they are swallowed so uncritically and readily, and for such a long time, by so many scientists without murmur of protest." Mutations continue to slowly harm us. HIV undermines the immune system's ability to resist invaders; T cells mobilize the body's defenses against disease.
shirleykirk 4 years ago
HIV-1 mimics other enemy invaders and essentially blindfolds the T cells to the presence of infection. That would prove intellegent design in the virus. Each generation has a slightly more disordered genetic constitution than the preceding one, and no amount of eugenics can reverse this process of decay.
The bible explains disease will be prevalent in the last days. With this info, if I am wrong, you have nothing to loose. But if I am right, you have all of eternity to loose.
shirleykirk 4 years ago
When Intelligent Design advocates start talking science they always wind up sounding uninformed and, quite frankly, silly. I don't mean that in a disrespectful way, but it's hard to take them seriously. As for religious discussions, I recommend Pat Condell's newest offering: "Unholy Scriptures." I've added it to my list of favorites.
blackturtleus 4 years ago
Pat Condell?!? I certainly would not want to base my life on the opinion of this guy.
Halo788 4 years ago
Anyone intelligent enough to appreciate the humor of Pat Condell is also intelligent enough to form his or her own opinions independently of the influence of him or anyone else. Pat Condell provides pithy commentary on religion and other topics. Often I agree with what he says. For instance, his statements regarding the Book of Revelations coincide with beliefs I have held for a long time!
blackturtleus 4 years ago
Every legitimate argument I have made you said that I am either ignorant or sound silly. Name calling is only a way to divert answering pointed questions. With your apparent knowledge of these topics, it would be more reasonable for you to give direct answers to the issues I presented.
shirleykirk 4 years ago
There is nothing silly about 1. Phylogenetic trees; the unbridgeable gaps in the fossil record. Nor am I uninformed when saying 2. Molecular Biology; Nobody has discovered any proof that proteins or nucleic acids could evolve from non life. With enough evidence for Intellegent Design, the books that you recommend seem redundant.
shirleykirk 4 years ago
It appears to be more of an issue with your heart, not about discussing facts. Perhaps it has more to do with your lifestyle than science. To acknowledge Biblical truth creates a problem for those who live lives contrary.
Matthew 18:6 " But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
shirleykirk 4 years ago
Religion is not science. To discover actual truth one must be willing to set aside dogmatic beliefs. Although scientists are sometimes accused of being dogmatic, it is usually the accusers who are actually dogmatic. What's that Biblical passage about seeing a splinter in someone else's eye?
blackturtleus 4 years ago
Aside from religion, again why have you not answered my SCIENTIFIC questions? Contrary, I am very informed and have done much research and am very interested in learning. So please tell me how a life first began? From the elements? Where did the elements come from?
shirleykirk 4 years ago
There is over-whelming evidence in support of the theory of evolution. There are also many unanswered questions. To conclude that a theory is untenable simple because there are a few unanswered questions is to misunderstand the definition of "theory" in the first place. Intelligent Design is, quite simply, not science. It belongs in the same category as UFOs, 9/11 Conspiracy Theories, Big Foot, and the Loch Ness Monster.
blackturtleus 4 years ago
Getting back to the topic, I am talking about science not religion or conspiracy theories. Could you briefly tell me in just a few sentences from all that you have studied: How did life first began? If from the elements? Where did the elements come from? That is all I am asking.
shirleykirk 4 years ago
For those who are following the postings:
The theory of evolution is a theory that fails at the very first step. The reason is that evolutionists are unable to explain even the formation of a single protein. Neither the laws of probability nor the laws of physics and chemistry offer any chance for the fortuitous formation of life.
shirleykirk 4 years ago
They have never found a single transitional form such as a half-fish/half-reptile or half-reptile/half-bird. Nor have they been able to prove that a protein, or even a single amino acid molecule composing a protein, could have formed under what they call primordial earth conditions; not even in their elaborately-equipped laboratories have they succeeded in doing that.

No, I said the ideas were ill-informed and I never attacked you personally. I believe you should do some research independent of any ID advocates. I believe you are intelligent enough to come to correct conclusions if you spend a lot of time studying good information.
blackturtleus 4 years ago
But, when it comes to identifying positive mutations, evolutionary scientists are strangely silent.
This research affirms the reality of the past Biblical curse of decay and degeneration on the world of nature, as stated in both Old and New Testaments. It also highlights the grim reality of the future hopelessness of the human race without the saving intervention of Our God and Savior Christ Jesus.
shirleykirk 4 years ago
Things are not improving like the evolutionist believe. With this array of human diseases that are caused by mutations, what of positive effects? With thousands of examples of harmful mutations readily available, surely it should be possible to describe some positive mutations if macroevolution is true. These would be needed not only for evolution to greater complexity, but also to offset the downward pull of the many harmful mutations.
shirleykirk 4 years ago
All these texts are highly regarded by the scientific community. Each book contains chapters that discuss phylogenetic trees in a slightly different way. Alberts et. al. actually shows (p455) how the leptin gene can be used to construct a phylogenetic tree showing the relationship between humans, chimpanzees, and gorillas. The science cannot be quickly explained as there are many advanced underlying concepts, but it cannot be dismissed with silly arguments about the fossil record.
blackturtleus 4 years ago
It appears that you have done some reading, I am not as educated as you are, I apologize for my ignorant statement. However, I am not impressed by the books written by evolutionists. In the scientific world today there is many influential evolutionists that are atheists. Eminent scientific philosopher and ardent Darwinian atheist Michael Ruse has even acknowledged that evolution is their religion! Basically what you are telling me is your religion is evolution.
shirleykirk 4 years ago
It takes more faith to believe that we were created out of nothing (or slim) than a Creator.I don't believe the lack of fossils is a silly argument, It would cause me to doubt the thoery of evoution. The lack of intermediates where these should have been found lies in stark conflict with evolutionary predictions.

Three of the books I read were:

It doesn't really make much sense to quote Darwin. He came up with the basic theory of evolution, but many of his conjectures were inaccurate. The fact that he came up with the theory before scientist had a clue about DNA attests to his brilliance!

This video is of a "Charismatic" type church camp which is not biblical, it does not follow true Christianity. It appears to follow the false teachings of "slain in the spirit" demonstrated by the kids falling down.

Did you see the "Jesus Camp" documentary? I'm not sure if I'm clear on the distinction between Charismatic and Evangelical. At any rate, my "Bible Camp" book was kind of "inspired" by the "Jesus Camp" movie. ;-)
blackturtleus 4 years ago
I saw the trailer of "Jesus Camp", the children falling down is an unbiblical practice that was started by "Charismatic" teachings. Much of this started back in the 70's, but it's roots go even further back. The bible warns plety about false teachers and heretical teachings, espeacially in the last days, so it comes to no surprise. Are you a born again believer?
shirleykirk 4 years ago
Not exactly... Did you listen to the last verse of the song? ;-)
blackturtleus 4 years ago
I didn't get the last, I understand why you may be cynical. Lee Strobel in his book interviews experts in theology, archaeology philosophy psychology writes The atheism I had embraced for so long buckled under the weight of historical truth. There are thousands of scientists who who repudiate evolution in their analysis and use of scientific data Evolutionists are finding it increasingly difficult to maintain the fiction that evolution is science.
shirleykirk 4 years ago
Actually with DNA sequencing and the phylogenetic trees derived from this information, the course and mechanisms of evolution have become clearer than ever. There are a handful of "scientists" who claim that evolution has no scientific evidence to support it, but mostly these are opportunists who wish to take advantage of people who don't WANT to admit that evolution is a strong scientific theory.
blackturtleus 4 years ago
If you can show me a "transitional" form fossil, I would believe in evolution. If it were a real process, evolution should still be occurring, and there should be many "transitional" forms There is no evidence of transformational intermediates between documented fossil species.
shirleykirk 4 years ago
The theory of evolution is supported by fossil evidence, but that support is not nearly as strong as the support provided by DNA evidence. For instance, there are transitional forms of genes that are shared in nearly homologous forms between various species. Also it is fairly easy to show where different species diverged in history based on DNA evidence.
blackturtleus 4 years ago
Darwin based his early theory on observation of living species. Fossil evidence was used by subsequent scientists to support his observations. Now DNA evidence shows us that most of what Darwin stated in his theory of evolution seems to be correct.
blackturtleus 4 years ago
Thanks for getting back. Again, what fossil evidence? Recently evolutionist have been promoting DNA and other genetic evidence as proof of evolution. However, it is inconsistent with, not only the fossil record, but also with the comparative morphology of the creatures.
Darwin wrote in "Darwin's Origin":
"To the question why we do not find rich fossiliferous deposits belonging to these assumed earliest periods prior to the Cambrian system I can give no satisfactory answer"...
shirleykirk 4 years ago
Phylogenic "trees" are used by evolutionists as props to lend support to their theory What is not mentioned though is that all of the branches of the tree both in the main illustration and in the linked secondary pages where the phylogeny of organisms is supposedly represented don't exist in real life.
shirleykirk 4 years ago
Arguing about the fossil record at this point is a little archaic. The fossil record is consistent with the general theory of evolution, but the fossil record is a little hit and miss. Many lifeforms may have not been preserved at all in the fossil record. But, again, the fossil record is weak evidence and continuing to argue about it is a little silly.

JesusCamper 3 years ago
I'm still not sure of your question if you are referring to John 18:6; Judas, the chief priests and Pharisees came to arrest Jesus and when he said I am He, they feel down. I don't know what you mean about them being heretical, could you explain? Thanks

coolmom9 3 years ago
In Jn 18:6 those who fell over were; vs Jn 18:3 Judas, having received a detachment of troops, and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees with lanterns, torches, and weapons.
These men were not followers of Christ, they were coming to arrest Jesus. God Himself caused them to fall over, after Jesus said I am He.

Agreed, Now what do you believe caused the boy to lay on the floor, shaking and convulsing in the movie Jesus Camp?
shirleykirk 3 years ago
Have no idea, asked Ms. Becky, she was unsure also. She said it never happened before or since. That boy is not a part of her ministry, she doesn't know him. In fact, at first she wasn't sure it even happened in one of her meetings, until she realized it was coming from some footage the film crew had shot with her.
JesusCamper 3 years ago
Going back to what I was said 9 months ago, this type of behavior: falling over, convulsing is promoted by the false teachings in the charismatic movement. The idea "slain in the spirit" is heretical. It's beginnings was popularized by false teacher's like Benny Hinn. Some of it can be traced as early as 1908. I would not send my children to a camp that promoted that behavior.
shirleykirk 3 years ago
I don't know. I wasn't there--neither were you. Did you hear anyone in this doc say it was God? Did you hear anyone say this is a typical thing at Ms. Fischer's meetings?
Well, it's not. I have been to her mtgs many times and have never seen anyone fall over.
